Ordered on the 30th at a T-Mobile store. It was shipped today and is supposed to be here on the 4th.

No they don't. Your store just tried to scam you into adding insurance.

Oh, just saw this. My store pulled the same scam on me. I literally was not allowed to order without adding Jump. I had customer service remove it from my order later.

My order is still Backordered with no additional information also . My store did the same thing . So the "Jump" thing can be removed and it wouldnt cause any problems?

Correct. I talked to the online chat customer service and this was removed from my account. The representative confirmed insurance or Jump is totally optional and not a requirement to get a new iPhone 5c or 5s on the payment plan.

Insurance plans are a profit maker for the carriers, so someone is pushing these store employees to do this. I worked at Radio Shack years ago and the manager would force us to lie to customers about the service plans in order to sell them. It was really shady and unethical, and I suspect that's going on here since it wasn't an isolated incident.

The rep's logic when I asked at the store was pretty sound - she told me it's like homeowner's insurance. They're giving you a loan for an expensive item, so they're not just going to let you walk around without having the thing insured. I'm sure that convinces most people who hear it, but it's a lie in this case.

Ordered a 5s 32GB Space Grey on 10/1 around 10pm. Went to backordered right away as I was expecting. The delivery estimate when I ordered was for 10/14. Today I see a pending charge on my credit card so I think that means it will be shipping soon; still says backordered on T-Mobile's site. Does the credit card charge mean anything? I don't remember for sure but I thought T-Mobile said they will charge when the device has been shipped.

card was charged this past Saturday, shipped this past Monday. I didn't get the shipped notification until Tuesday, but saw the order status as shipped via the tmobile account on Monday.
 
I just ordered an iPhone 5s 64GB Space grey via t-mobile.com yesterday 10/3/2013 and it shipped today! 10/4/2013 They sent me a tracking number as well! that was fast!

I think the delays are for the Gold and silver which is ridiculous because they should have all colors in stock
 
I ordered my gold 32gb 5s right at midnight on release day and it's always said back ordered with a estimated delivery date of the 7th so today I long on my tmobile and I get this thing showing me how to set up my new sim, even tho my order status is still listed as back ordered I'm wondering if this means it finally shipped seeing how when I called yesterday the lady told me the tmobile system can be a bit slow to update and my moms card would show b4 they did.

They should have everything in stock if they had intentions of launching it but I guess they thought it wasn't going to sell .

They KNEW it was gonna sell, it's just apple didn't make as many of the white colors, same thing happened with the 4-5 just not to this extent

I ordered 4 phones on 9/22, a space gray 16GB, a gold 16GB, and two non feature phones.

The pending charges for the non feature phones and family plan posted as "pending" about a week ago.

The charges for my space gray 16GB posted 2 days ago.

The charges for my wife's gold 16GB posted today.

All charges still say "pending" and order status is still says backordered.
