BS. The launches always result in preorder demand and these same logistics exercises. The release date is the release date. Apple has a well oiled process for getting the hardware out on the date they announce as the release date. Not doubting that the supervisor told you that but they're completely wrong.

The supervisor probably means 1 day early release - AKA the 24th, then it gets overnight shipping applied to it = 25th which is release date. Way to go, "supervisor"!

1 or 2 iPhones (the silver one and not the SG) got an email saying IMEI updated. Checked UPS using phone as reference and it shows up as scheduled for tomorrow. Anyone have "Out for Delivery" status change for scheduled delivery today?

The phones are being held for Friday delivery.

Yes, go to UPS and search by reference using your phone number and you should see the label was created.

In all seriousness I have a wedding to leave for friday AM, and no way UPS will be to my house before 930 AM, when I have to leave for airport. Wife doesn't know why I suggested changing flight...she thinks I'm weird enough getting up at 3 AM to buy watches and phones.

Though these notifications are saying delivery on 22. But I don't think anyone will actually get the phone before the 25. As someone else said - Apple makes sure that folks get the phone on the launch date.

No charges, no texts or emails since the one I got when I ordered. No change from "Expected for 24th" and PartialSAPBackorder.

Same thing happened last year. T-Mobile's "priority" system is complete BS. There is no rhyme or reason in the way orders are processed and shipped. It is completely random.

Don't be surprised if you see your package start moving to a local UPS hub and then be held at that point. I looked at my tracking details from Verizon for last year with the iPhone 6, and basically - the phone started moving through FedEx's system on the Monday before launch, made it to Newark NJ on Tuesday -- and then sat in Newark until early Friday morning.
