For those interested, I was able to book an appointment with T-Mobile's retail location to buy my 6S on launch day even though I didn't pre-order. I did request a 16GB 6S so there's that. I doubt they would've allowed me to do it with a more in-demand model.

I just read above that there's a plane headed to Sac. Based upon where I am that's the plane that makes the most sense for it to be on. I'm south (west) of Sac but north (east) of Oakland.
