Very cool, keitarou. If Tmob has good coverage where you are (like it does by me in Detroit), then it's a steal of a deal. Did you wind up going though the guy I mentioned? Doesn't matter to me either way. Just curious.

I did. it was effortless. Thanks for the referral.

I have to give the T-Mobile CEO credit, he easily has the most interesting personality I've ever seen when it comes to telecom CEOs. His tweets and attacks on the other carriers are pretty entertaining and the guy even found a way to spin the last place performance of T-Mobile's JD Power rating as a positive. Now about that rural coverage...

He's a snake and should be fired. Any idiot who markets that TMobile has Nationwide 4G with a straight-face is delusional in my eyes.

T-Mobile is Fantastic!

So I just want to add

That I'm also loving T-mobile, Data is fast and unlimited:D In my area (Between Philadelphia and Reading Pa.). LTE is a lil spotty but the HSPA+ is just as good and I always have full bars unless I'm driving through the mountain., I get a corporate discount from my employer so I get 15% of So I have Unlimited everything for $59 before taxes

I was going with AT&T but I had a change of heart.. glad I did, the 500MB of hotspot data is very useful too. I've been browsing (no videos) on my MacBook for 4 hours and only used 0.7MB which is off but I ain't complaining lol

Boss:cool:

Anybody with T-Mobile want to tell me how they like it? I'm with AT&T and I'm very tempted to make the switch this fall because I want truly unlimited data.

It's great where I am. Faster than the LTE I was getting with Verizon but half the price and unlimited. Building penetration isn't as good though. It usually drops back to 4G from LTE inside some buildings.

My current carrier is sending the bill early this month. lol

The September bill, which I won't be paying cause I'm switching carriers as soon as the new iPhone comes out.

They never do that, they must know I'm about to switch! Lol

I left ATT for TMO and regret it.

I"m located north of Chicago, pretty big size town.
TMO for me is garbage. I've lost track of how many times I have "No Service" on my 4S. And it's not like I lose service for a few minutes, a good 15-20 minutes at a time.

As soon as the new phone is released, I'm going back to ATT.

Moved to T-Mobile from AT&T's GoPhone service and I've never been happier with my phone service. You can't beat 100 minutes + unlimited messaging + 5GB of 4G data for only $30 a month.

My only complaint with them is that they need to convert the 2G in rural areas to 3G and need more coverage. However, I don't travel much at all so this is rarely a problem for me.

The 4S will only work in refarmed areas and from my personal experience the refarmed coverage is very spotty.

You need to get the "tweaked" iPhone 5 with the AWS bands to better test out TMob's network.

I had a Factory Unlocked (AT&T) iPhone 4S 64gb Black and was using it on T-Mobile but only got "4g" in certain areas and it was about 3mbps max.

I recently bought an iPhone 5 off craigslist (official T-Mobile version) and am enjoying the speeds. I got up to 13mbps in one area, but typically it's 6-8mbps which is better than what I usually got before around here which is Edge and it was always slow unless I went to the next city.

Got iOs 7 beta on it and am loving it. $45/month for unlimited talk, text & data is perfect for me!

Very happy w/ T-Mobile. Best-priced plans in the nation. GSM carrier, great voice quality, data speeds are good. Really like the fact they are moving away from "subsidized" phones/plans and are getting rid of these multi-year contracts, which were always a fraud. T-Mobile all the way.

Can you (or someone) explain why the multi-year contracts are a scam? I'm genuinely curious. I've been with T-Mobile forever and was pumped when they got the iPhone, but I feel like paying $100 or $200 and having a two year contract is a better deal than paying full price for the phone and not having a contract. What are the pro's? That you can get a different phone whenever you want (obviously you'd still have to pay off any previous phone)?

What area are you? You don't have LTE?

The bad thing about T-Mobiles LTE is that it very limited. There are only two areas near me that have LTE coverage and both of those areas are less than a mile wide. Luckily I live in one of those areas because AT&T has no LTE coverage where I live.

I really didn't want to upgrade my phone to the 5s.
From what I've read, upgrading will not necessarily fix my TMO connection /service issues. If I live in a bad map area, then a new phone with extra aluminum foil on my head will not help out.

Guess there is only one way to find out, huh?

Should I buy the new 5s from TMO and still have bad service, will ATT let me bring this phone over to them?

The argument against contracts is that you are actually paying a hidden fee with your monthly service for signing that contract. I have no idea if that's true or not, but regardless it's not like your monthly bill is any less whether you pay full price for your phone or not. (I'm not talking about T-Mobile, I mean the other 3 major American carriers.)

For most American consumers, paying the subsidized price makes a lot more sense then the off-contract price at the start or over a 24 month period. The only people this does not hold true for are people who don't want to wait to upgrade their phone in the future.

My personal take on all this seems to not be expressed by many. For starters, I think the off-contract pricing for phones has gotten utterly ridiculous. The iPhone is the worst offender. $850, without tax, for the 64 GB model is just comical. In fact I think $600 for any phone is just absurd. That's why I'm actually very curious to see how much the iPhone 5C will be off-contract. I don't want to go back to a 4" screen however unlimited data plus say a $300-$350 off-contract iPhone is potentially very appealing to me if I make the move to T-Mobile this fall.

Just check the coverage maps on their site. The AWS compatible iPhone 5 and upcoming 5S are based off the coverage maps on their site while the 4S that you had was not. They don't provide coverage maps for those devices.

I payed full price for an unlocked 5 from Apple when moving to T-Mobile. I wasn't sure how the coverage would be at my location and wanted to be able to move easily to another provider if needed.

I saw that they gained 1.1 million customers last quarter. Congrats on that. Question is whether it was mostly due to the iPhone or is it primarily because of their new plans/prices? Also still no comments from Mr. Legere about the 2G/Edge areas. If his Uncarrier Phase 3 announcement doesn't address it then it's a joke.
