If they aren't catering to low-end customers, then who are they catering to?

Would you mind explaining why you are on this crusade to prove that TMO is "for the poor"? Why does it matter to you so much that you are going on for pages adding your proof and citations?

This is a serious question. And I made it as neutral as I possibly could so as not to seem like an attack. You just seem to be more worried about proving a point (that TMO is for the ghettos) than to actually discuss the service, the latter of which is the actual point of the thread.

FWIW maps are worthless. Boston is completely covered yet I was on edge for half the time that I used them (had their service about a week). Service indoors was almost always atrocious. I would blame the old buildings with who knows what in the walls, but AT&T and Verizon powered through it. I say all this to show that I am really not on TMobile's side here, just slightly baffled at your motives.

T-Mobile is Fantastic!

Spare us the BS. For the last few months, you and the rest of the TMo crew have been making us excuses for all that EDGE and how they don't have enough spectrum to deploy LTE nationwide, but guess what TMo just announced? LTE expansion in EDGE areas.

All I've been hearing is excuses and excuses with zero facts to back them up.

----------

More excuses. Sprint has already committed to using their PCS spectrum to deploy LTE nationwide and guess what? They're doing it (albeit, slowly) If Sprint can do it, why can't T-Mobile? Don't TMo customers love to parade around about how superior their service is to Sprint?

----------

Might help to spell "ghetto" correctly first ;)

If they aren't catering to low-end customers, then who are they catering to?

They have, by far, the lowest ARPU in the industry. Not to mention, their churn rate is higher than anyone else's out there. If their customers aren't low-end and volatile, what are they exactly?

Lol I guess att is 2nd ghetto wireless then by that arpu chart huh? Ok.

I'll say it again. Why are you in this thread, about how people are enjoying their tmobile service, if all you're doing is telling us how bad tmobile is? You're trolling.

It's official. T-Mobile corporate discounts are now dead. AT&T is now a better value for my two lines and my data usage habits.

http://multimediacapsule.thomsonone...hoice-value-and-transparancy-are-for-everyone

AT&T really brought the value to the table with their new plans. I even dumped my unlimited plan in favor of this.

We have TMO to thank for that though, mostly.

If you are thinking of switching, they have $100 per line (that they give you after 45 days) plus waived activation fees (if you get a phone) through the end of the month.

There are going to be some ANGRY T-Mobile customers very soon.. I'm already reading a lot of comments about people switching back to AT&T/Verizon since their discounts would even out the pricing.

AT&T better not follow T-Mobiles lead and eliminate discounts as well.

Well I just switched and in NYC have had no problems, I am using a iPhone 5 and the speed is good enough for me to stream my music and even watch some March Madness on the go. Its so nice not to worry about data caps.

So I will lose my 15% corp discount or will we be grandfathered in?

All right, AutoUnion39, it's time to get real. You are complaining about a company who CHANGED AT&T and Verizon this year by forcing them to lower prices and/or give more value per dollar. You are looking at a company who went from bankruptcy in 2011/2012 to SUCCESS in 2013/2014 and so on.

Your BS about how "T-Mobile sucks" and how T-Mobile is catered to the lower demographic is getting annoying. T-Mobile does not suck in the eyes of around fifty million people and some wealthy people choose T-Mobile because they have a fast LTE network and unlimited data.

T-Mobile is growing and if you can't see that, you are blind. John Legere is the man who made a company go from crap to success. I honestly do not understand how you can't see that when T-Mobile is currently running circles around the big two and causing competition in this industry.

Okay yes, AT&T and Verizon have bigger networks, but that doesn't mean they are better. Remember that fiasco back in the end of 2013? Remember when Verizon's LTE network crapped out because the engineers placed AWS equipment when it was too late and a lot of customers had dropped calls/texts and had poor data speeds? Guess what... T-Mobile's LTE handled all of the data of their customers just fine and people were happy.

You are coming on Macrumors just to primarily troll about how T-Mobile sucks, when this is a T-MOBILE THREAD were T-Mobile customers can talk about T-Mobile is good, or if they have issues, say what's not so great, but not blabber in everyone's face how T-Mobile sucks or T-Mobile is Ghetto Wireless.

By the way, T-Mobile couldn't deploy LTE on PCS because T-Mobile doesn't have as much PCS as AWS nationwide and T-Mobile wanted to wait until the customer/network demands were balanced enough to even think about upgrading EDGE. (Although, T-Mobile will deploy LTE on AWS in all or most EDGE areas and PCS LTE in some EDGE areas with only some areas also getting HPSA+.)

I'd like an answer to this question too, although I'm not expecting much from AutoUnion as they have ignored similar queries in the past.

It seems personal for AutoUnion39, as if Tmo committed some horrible sin against AutoUnion in the past.

Quick recap for you...

Within the last few months...

- They got rid of everyone's grandfathered plans

- They increased the prices of their unlimited plans

- They made JUMP! a ripoff by changing the terms

- They're dumping all the corporate discounts. Everyone will loose theirs after 4/25

Remind me again how I'm hating again? Maybe I'm just not delusional enough to eat up TMo's marketing spin BS on this. All I'm seeing is over promising and under-delivering.

One year of positive customer adds doesn't mean that they're going to staying that way. VZW and AT&T have been adding customers quarter after quarter for years now. VZW almost matched T-Mo's net adds in Q4 2013.

Here's carrier growth over the last few months. Look who is still under 0%...

Okay yes, AT&T and Verizon have bigger networks, but that doesn't mean they are better.
Ahh, you crack me up. I still haven't gotten a reply from you (or any of the TMo apologists) about this fact.

T-Mobile's 3G network is STILL smaller than VZW/AT&T's LTE network. Getting fast LTE speeds in some spots around the US means nothing when AT&T/VZW are delivering that nationwide. Hell, even Sprint is running a nationwide 3G network these days. T-Mobile can't even claim that they have a 100% EDGE network. There are still a decent amount of spots where blazing fast GPRS is encountered.

Remember that fiasco back in the end of 2013? Remember when Verizon's LTE network crapped out because the engineers placed AWS equipment when it was too late and a lot of customers had dropped calls/texts and had poor data speeds?
Remind me again about when "VZW's LTE network crapped out." I googled that exact statement and got nothing. What I distinctly remember is that their 2x10 700 network (which is still providing super fast speeds nationwide) was slowing down in top markets due to the amount of customers they have. That problem has since been FIXED.

Guess what... T-Mobile's LTE handled all of the data of their customers just fine and people were happy.
They also have half as many customers. You really think that T-Mobile will continue to maintain these speeds? If VZW couldn't, what makes you think the beloved Uncarrier will?

By the way, T-Mobile couldn't deploy LTE on PCS because T-Mobile doesn't have as much PCS as AWS nationwide
More BS. T-Mobile has more than enough PCS nationwide to deploy LTE. They have a decent amount of PCS and AWS nationwide. They can free up a significant portion of their network by winding down their EDGE network.

T-Mobile can't even claim that they have reliable service in major cities. It's 2G-heaven all over major cities in the Northeast, such as Boston, NYC, Phily, Baltimore, DC, Hartford, etc.

I'm just as much of a T-Mobile subscriber as anyone here. I'm not giving them a free pass because their overrated service barely works. Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's good. Some people seem to have trouble figuring that out on here. They over-promise and under-deliver.

Where's that Nationwide 4G they talk about in their commercials? How about all that LTE they say they have in Boston? I can't even drive between the most densely populated states in the US and maintain a consistent HSPA connection (RI, NJ, CT, MA, etc).

AutoUnion, you are right about everything.

Now get out of this thread.

Him and bigaww. Lol they wanna argue but avoid the fact that they're trolling in here.

I did read the letter Legere sent regarding the ending of corporate discounts. A lil disappointed but I did pick up on the end where he says more is coming. Wonder what he has up his sleeve. Probably something to make up for the end of corporate discounts.

Indeed. Fact of the matter is that T-Mobile works well for many people, who don't care about nationwide 4G/LTE. They have 4G/LTE where they primarily use their device and they are happy with what they pay.

I don't know why the mods here allow Autounion and his alter ego to continue posting in this thread.

Not the same person at all. Get the mods to check IPs if you want.

It must shock you that more than one person (me) has had a poor experience with the beloved uncarrier.

Hereis why I love T-mobile. I have been getting anywhere between 20-49Mbps on my 5S and the same speeds on my iPad.

The screen caps below show my speeds on T-mobile and AT&T. The AT&T one was taken at just after 1AM. I can only get LTE during the night on AT&T and during the day, I am lucky to get those speeds on 4G, LTE doesn't exist in the day. I am in Broomfield Colorado, right in the middle of the city.

Why do you hate Tmo so much?

Even people who don't use Tmo want to know! This seems to go way beyond spotty service.

Did Tmo do something bad to you, like mess up your billing a long time ago? To expend so much time and effort on long posts attacking the company seems odd.

I omitted most of your post just for the sake of space, but I just wanted to address a few of the points you mentioned.

I will admit that no one really knows how things will ultimately shake up for Tmobile as far as adding new subs and growth. Its still too early to tell, but I agree with you. Eventually they will reach a saturation point and the growth will slow. But I think that you have to, at the very least, admit that after bleeding subs left and right to make a complete 180 in the span of a year and add as many as Tmobile has is pretty impressive in its own right. Whether or not they will stay is the question, but again we'll see in the coming months/years.

I will specifically address this point because you asked :)

Tmobile obviously doesn't work for everyone. But for a lot of people it does. And not just passable or kinda works, it works well. I know in my area specifically, Tmobile works great. Ive never had a problem with them. I and many other people who use Tmobile dont care or need service "nationwide." We just need it where we work and live. I dont necessarily care that Verizon or At&t offers coverage where I will never be. It doesn't concern me and so in my opinion, the fact that they do "means nothing" to me. See what I did there?

So the question that I still have that you or BiggAW have yet to answer for me is, Why should I pay more for a service that I won't see any benefit from? The clear advantage to the Big Two is coverage. I get that. But if I am never in need of it, why pay extra for it? In my city, Tmobile has very, very good coverage, super fast LTE, and I've never had a problem with them. I don't leave my coverage area, I fly when I travel, and the roads that I travel between cities have full 4g/LTE all along the way (I35 between Austin and San Antonio). So again, I would like to know why should I pay more?

Look AutoUnion39 and BigAW, we get it. AT&T/Verizon have networks that are bigger than T-Mobile's/Sprint's networks, but that doesn't make them any better. All carriers have pros and cons and you two have to release that we all have choice in this world. Trolling on these forums about how AT&T/Verizon are kings and everyone on T-Mobile/Sprint is a naysayer is ridiculous, especially on a T-Mobile oriented section.

I was having a hard time reading this thread, but 2 edits to my ignore list and now it's much better.

I really don't get why you are complaining about a provider that you have left.

You don't like T-Mobile? Fine, but know that the hundred of thousands of MacRumors members absolutely DO NOT CARE if you had a bad experience with T-Mobile, because T-Mobile works for many people in this country. The consumers are to make their own decision, not based on RootMetrics or some other crap.

By the way, if Sprint/T-Mobile go away, you can say bye-bye to competition and hello to even more BS prices from AT&T and Verizon.

Going back to the first comments I made about your experience:

Just because T-Mobile has horrible coverage on your street in Boston, doesn't mean they will have horrible coverage everywhere.

Seriously, what benefit does complaining about T-Mobile have towards you? You will only get 20+ notifications saying that you are a troll and that you should go away, which by the way: Did you realize why you were suspended from MacRumors?
