I switched from AT&T to T-Mobile and I get better service here in Minnesota with T-Mobile then AT&T. It's only "4G" but it's still great service. Were supposedly suppose to get LTE before the end of May. So I'm excited to try HD Voice.

I'm sure you know this, but you haven't applied the carrier update. If you want to, go to settings->general->about and then it'll pop up. If your jail broken, it won't affect the jailbreak. You need to do this to get features like visual voicemail, 4G icon, and emergency alerts.

Cant quite so this yet, im using a GPP to use my pbone with t-mobile for now. My iPhone will be unlocked on the 10th so then i'll be able to get t-mobile's carrier update.

Why not just buy an IMEI unlock? Assuming you have an AT&T iPhone?

$2...https://www.swiftunlocks.com/unlock/at-t-iphone-12-24-hours

*edit*

Hmm, do you have a Sprint iPhone that you're using T-Mobile with? Once Sprint unlocks, you still won't be able to use it without the GPP interposer.

What do you mean i wont be able to use it without the GPP interposer?
Wouldnt sprint unlocking my phone mean i would be able to use it with t-mobile? They kicked me out of contract because of roaming at home.

Sprint (CDMA) only unlocks the iPhone for international use only. You'll either need to buy a T-Mobile (GSM) or unlocked AT&T (GSM) iPhone or continue using the Sprint iPhone with the GPP.

This is true. Sprint so ****hy when it comes to stuff like this. Well nevermind, they suck when it comes to anything except for employee discounts ....

TMobile is complete garbage. Had their service for about 5 year. I had patchy service in most of Portland, Oregon. When I'd visit So. Cal, I had almost no service on the outskirts of Los Angeles. Finally, I moved to Houston, Tx a year ago, and had very little service cross country, and even worse, zero service in my apartment in downtown Houston. Meanwhile, my wife (who had Verizon) would have service everywhere I didn't. In envy, I finally switched to Verizon and my coverage is a million times better. Service everywhere in Houston, Portland and Los Angeles. I won't be switching back, ever.

Edit: Forgot to mention that speeds on their 4G were comparable to Verizon's 3G. And while I didn't do any of my own studies, I'm almost certain that a serious throttling is in effect with minimal usage of data on Tblow.

T-Mobile has changed drastically in the past 6 months. While I agree their network used to be crap, I don't believe this is the case anymore. I get great coverage and awesome data speeds in and all around Houston. (I live in Richmond and get great 4G coverage and thats not really "in" houston. )

Are you able to go back and forth between Tmobile and Sprint service? I'm waiting for my gpp for my verizon 4S and that's what I've always wondered but never confirmed.

Dam the secret is out don't be clogging up my bandwidth! LOL. Let's not forget the HD voice.

I was able to use HD voice with my friend e got iPhone 5 on Tmobile sounds really good , but I don't make that many calls so I don't care much for it

I love the HDvoice, when i talk to my wife and brother ob TMobile it is so clear. I didnt realize how much of a difference it makes until my aunt bought her iphone 5 on sprint. That call sounded horrible.

I love my T-mobile service and would never switch to another company. My 4G is faster than some of the LTE pics i have seen some people post on this site. I also cant wait for LTE this summer.

T-mobile is excellent in south florida, even if you dont have the AWS iPhone

I'm interested to see next quarter subscriber results to see how much of an effect the iPhone launch has had on their numbers. It seems a lot of people are switching and even more existing customers upgrading and staying. If anything it should plug their churn hole.

IDK why it sounded horrible I have a sprint iPhone 5 and whether he or not it sounds great either way I mean really if I can clearly understand the other person on the other side what does it matter !

I am comparing the quality of HDvoice to non-HDvoice.

Once you experience HDvoice than the old quality is no longer as good.

Take for example when you bought your first HDTV it was amazing quality and you didn't realize how bad standard definition was until you experienced true HDTV quality.

Maybe horrible was too harsh of a word for it but there really is a big difference.

These are the speeds I am seeing in NYC on ATT. The very top is with LTE while the second from the top is from HSPA+. The city is blanketed with both so I am beyond happy. Especially given I was previously with Sprint and had a 4S on their network which was beyond a horrible experience.

The iPhone 4S from Sprint is 3G. You're comparing apples (no pun intended) and oranges. To do a true comparison you'd need to find an iPhone 5 on Sprint's network and find a working LTE site which are scattered about NYC.

Now the million dollar question is when will T-Mobile finally do something about their massive coverage areas that still are Edge only data? We already know they work pretty decent in the cities.

I've decided to make the switch from AT&T as well. The price I pay per month is just too much compared to what I could pay with T-Mo. I also have a T-Mo sales guy working on crediting me for the ETFs if I switch.

They have said nothing about it. Even the CEO doesn't care. This doesn't surprise me with the ridiculous "dust bowl" comments made against VZW. Especially since they have more LTE than TMo has HSPA and they've been deploying for almost 5 years now, whereas VZW will be done deploying their native LTE coverage within the next 30-60 days.

AT&T and VZW having more LTE than TMo has HSPA shows just how pathetic they are.
