LMAO at some of you just refusing to accept that people are having a pleasant experience on T-mobile with T-mobile phones. Get over it already.

GO tmobile!

Now that is true! You can experiment for $10 or $20 extra per month :)

Cheers,

So today, I was all excited and bought my very first iPad Mini. Specifically went there to buy the AT&T model. Bought it, got home and activated my service. Disappointment. I don't get LTE where I am in Denver.

I drove around while working my job tonight trying to see if I could get LTE anywhere within a 5 mile square area. I got LTE a few times and tried to do a speed test and the iPad would switch back to 4G before the test would complete.

I did manage to get one speed test in while the indicator said LTE the entire time. AT&T LTE just plain sucks in my area. I had to turn off LTE to get any decent speeds on 4G at all.

My boss with his Note 2 says he picks it up off and on in the area as well but nothing worthwhile.

Screen shot is with an LTE signal.

Haha yeah it's like some people are downright offended that Tmobile works for some. In my case they're even better than Verizon where I live.

The bottom line here is that T-Mobile is not the best choice for people who travel, live in rural areas or whose commutes take them through less populated areas. Their 4G is most prevalent in medium to larger cities.

For example, on road trips you may frequently lose a GPS app that doesn't store the maps locally.

For the most part, fairly stationary users who live in more populous areas will find T-Mobile works just fine.

Let's all agree that T-Mobile's coverage doesn't match the bigger carriers, but for people who live in a T-Mobile covered area (such as myself) it's a perfect alternative for us. I don't forsee myself traveling to any rural parts of the country any time soon so any place I want to go is covered.

I don't get it, people love to make them selves look like d-bags regarless of what it's about.

Return it and get the Verizon version. Mine works well everywhere I travel.

Put a T-Mobile nano sim in.

No. I broke my Verizon contract after a year due to the same exact problem that I am having with AT&T. If I had no Verizon quality data speeds, I would not have LTE either. Like I said, I live in a pocket where there is bad coverage except for T-Mobile.

Yeah you can have a good experience on T-Mobile as long as you don't travel too far outside of your metro area. Then it's all 2G. They don't even have the major interstate highways covered in 3G yet.

Well that is unfortunate. I've never been in an area where my Verizon iPad hasn't worked.

Cheers,

It does't matter what you get ir anyone else because we are all in different areas. What works for some, doesn't for others.

Service will always depend on location.

Of course but I travel extensively throughout the US (including HI) and have carried multiple devices (at times Sprint, T-Mobile & Verizon) and in general, Verizon works more consistently in more places than any of the other carriers. Of course there are individual exceptions like the occasionally good Sprint service in and around Atlanta and other LTE enabled cities. I now carry a T-Mobile phone and Verizon iPad and have not had an issue getting voice or data services (using wifi calling on the T-Mobile phone utilizing the wifi hotspot on the Verizon iPad when T-Mobile service is unavailable).

Cheers,

Fanboyism? Child please. I said it's not unusual that there are T-mobile customers who happen to be happy with their service. We get it that you hate T-mobile but we also could care less.

After traveling in the Dallas FW area I am extremely impressed with T-Mobile 4G coverage. Again for the naysayers I did not encounter EDGE, and yes my travels were on the outskirts not the city. Going to Orlando in the morning.

Pretty funny given I'm posting on the Lumia 521 thread. Apparently coverage maps are hard for you to accept. if Tmobile works where you are trolling from again good for you. Try again Loca

The coverage map fails and does a person no good when they live in an area that is supposed to have good coverage but doesn't. I have no LTE on my new Mini here in Denver using AT&T and no 4G coverage at all at my house. The coverage map is not accurate.

I get only 1 bar inside my house but I think that has to do with building penetration. As soon as I walk out of my home, full bars and 4G
