I've decided to make the switch from AT&T as well. The price I pay per month is just too much compared to what I could pay with T-Mo. I also have a T-Mo sales guy working on crediting me for the ETFs if I switch.
Welcome to T-Mobile bliss. Did u get unlimited high speed data?

How is T-Mobile in NY/NJ as far as LTE ? I live on Long Island, and rarely get LTE, whereas my office in Jersey City, which used to be like a bunker (internet hardly worked, missed calls, slow email), now has blazing fast LTE. I have an iPhone 5 on AT&T.

Yeah I will be. Buddy gave me a deal for 6 lines at $160 per month before taxes including an iPad. He's giving me a credit of $1000 for switching and he's trying to see if he can apply that for my $275 deposit that's required. I'm excited. Less money and decent service. I'm okay with that.

dj,

Does your sales guy handle calls over the phone from other markets? Like Detroit? I'm looking to switch from AT&T to TMobile as well, but I have about $500 in EFT's from AT&T for 3 lines. Do you think he could work out something for me if I called him? That's the only thing keeping me from switching at the moment.

Come to Boston. There's a world outside of NYC.

And I like how you are ignoring the fact that EDGE is everywhere. Keep it up :)
Yep there is and I travel quite often. This week I will be in Dallas, next week I will be in Orlando, mabey Tennessee. If T-Mobile does not work for u then that's unfortunate. But it does work for me and a lot of others. Just not going to be limited, throttled after 5 Gb and pay super high prices.

I'll DM you his contact info.

I've been having excellent service with T-Mobile lately. Call quality has been great and I have only had one dropped call since moving to them in February. With AT&T, I couldn't tell you how many dropped calls I had in six years.

Glad others are loving the speeds. I am still getting on my 4S about 4-10Mbps and on a Nexus 4 17-26Mbps.

I've been a t-mobile customer since last fall. I'm digging the unlimited data plans but I have to say, their new policies of buying phones outright isn't all it's cracked up to be. I'm saving about $10 a month with the unlimited everything plan w/ T-Mo vs what I was spending for 3 GB of Data and 450 anytime mins w/ AT&T. To me, I'd almost rather have the subsidized phone after two years. Right now I know I can get a new phone anytime I want but I have pay full price, same as I would have with AT&T if I wanted a new phone before my 2 years was up but at least I felt rewarded with AT&T at the end of my contract and re-signing. $10/ month over 24 months is only $240 so I'm still paying less for a new phone with AT&T.

Another thing I enjoyed with AT&T was being able to trade phones on CL to try new stuff out but T-Mo's policies have helped scammers by letting people make downplayments on phones and selling them and claiming them as stolen which causes the buyer to have a blacklisted device. This was not an issue on AT&T.

True AT&T only blacklists stolen phones. They won't blacklist a phone is there is an unpaid balance for any reason or amount.

At the same time, you can't blame any carrier for blacklisting a phone for the reasons you mention.

Yes, they do. Some dude tried to trade me his HTC One last week that was blocked from non-payment.

I've never had that happened. I've bought numerous iPhones over the years and then broke the contracts after a few months. I've sold many of them on this forum and I am currently using a 4S that I bought in January and broke the contract a month later. It is the one I am using on T-Mobile now.

Nice thing about AT&T is no matter how much money you owe, it is erased 1.5 years later and you can again get approved for a contract.

It's a fairly new policy. TMo does the same thing. I hope you don't continue doing this and try selling those phones on CL/eBay. Buyer gets screwed. Only the lowest of scum partake in crap like that.

this is pathetic. They shouldn't be doing this, especially to people who sign a binding contract and then not adhere to it.

Have fun at 100kbps on their massive EDGE network while I'm pulling 6mbps on my iPhone 4S on AT&T. With all the coverage holes, and cities that have no 3G at all, I think I'll stick with a real carrier, thank you very much.

For me, I get very nice speeds on my 4S on T-Mobile. My speeds were so bad on AT&T I had no choice but to find a better carrier. Yes, I know some of them are on WiFi but you see the good 4G speed. I don't check much anymore because my speeds are always good.

They've done it for the last six years at least.

Download the sensorly app and check for T-Mobile LTE in your zipcode.

If it is the guy that is on here, be careful! It's a scam!

So... that's theft, right? You're not paying for the contract you signed...? Don't they come after you for unpaid phone bills?

Spoken like a true douche! T-Mobile isn't for everyone but for a lot of people its great! Funny that someone without an LTE who is only pulling 6mbps would make fun of someone else...

Does bliss = spotty coverage in the city and blazing fast EDGE everywhere else?

What city does T-Mobile have spotty coverage?

Depends on where you live. Throughout the SE I've found 4G pretty consistently in Medium to Large cities and along some Interstate highways. Outside of that their service can be spotty, even to make a call.

Regardless, its better than Sprint in most of the country.

Cheers,
