And how about trading in the old device?

I would say you'd have 5 days to bring it back to a T-Mobile store once the new phone arrives. When I did test drive with T-Mobile I got an email saying the phone was delivered and that I had 7 days to try it and return it to a T-Mobile store.

hummmm so if the headphone jack stops working, apple would just swap my phone. What would TM do? Would I have to pay the $180 deductible to get a replacement?
You'd have to pay them $5 (that's their charge for problems that aren't user fault/damage).

tl;dr version: JOD can preorder at 12:01PT by calling T-Mobile at 1-800-937-8997. You can't preorder online. Priority goes to JOD and Jump. You need to return your old phone to an actual T-Mobile store once you receive, you can't ship it.

Q: How can I get iPhone 6s / 6s Plus with JUMP! On Demand starting Sept. 12?

  • Customers can call us at 1-800-937-8997 or visit their local participating T-Mobile store to get phones with JUMP! On Demand.
  • Upon calling T-Mobile to place their JUMP! On Demand order, they’ll receive an email requiring an eSignature within 48 hours to hold their place in line.
  • If you already have a phone with JUMP! On Demand, once you receive your new phone, just be sure to come to a T-Mobile store to turn in your previous phone. Otherwise, you’ll have two phone payments until you return the previous phone. JUMP! On Demand returns can only be done in a T-Mobile store.
Q: Do JUMP! and JUMP! On Demand customers get priority access?
  • Yep! T-Mobile’s JUMP! and JUMP! On Demand customers get priority access to iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
  • When they pre-order in the first 48 hrs (starting 12:01 am PT on September 12), their orders will be the first to ship on September 25th or when we have inventory.
Q: Why do they get priority access?
  • We always put existing customers first. Since our JUMP! and JUMP! On Demand customers are part of these programs to get the latest technology, we are giving them a special offer to celebrate the launch of JUMP! On Demand.
  • All other orders are prioritized in the order they’re received, including orders from JUMP! and JUMP! On Demand customers that are placed after 12:01 am PT September 14, and we’ll be working hard to turn around customer orders as quickly as possible starting on September 25th.
Q: Why can’t I get a phone with JUMP! On Demand on T-Mobile.com?
  • JUMP! On Demand is currently only available in stores and on the phone. We’ll bring it online soon, but it is not quite ready and we want you to have the best possible experience getting your new phone.
  • We can help customers place their JUMP! On Demand orders – at 1-800-937-8997 starting at 12:01 am PT on September 12 or in a T-Mobile retail store.
Q: I am a JUMP! customer who wants to move to JUMP! On Demand, how do I do that?
  • You can move from JUMP! to JUMP! On Demand when you’ve paid off your current phone, and any trade-in value can help cover any outstanding payments – or help reduce future payments.
  • You can also call 1-800-937-8997 or visit a local store to place a preorder.
Q: I’m a JUMP! On Demand customer – how do I get iPhone 6s / 6s Plus? How much will it cost to upgrade?
  • Upgrading on JUMP! On Demand costs nothing upfront!
  • Customers can bring their current device into a local T-Mobile store for a three-point check-up to ensure it’s in good condition and then swap it out for one a new iPhone with no upgrade fees or taxes upfront. And yes, that includes the introductory pricing ($20 a month for iPhone 6s and $24 a month for iPhone 6s Plus – each with 16 GB) while it’s available. Higher memory iPhones may require additional money down.
Q: Do I have to go into my local T-Mobile store to trade-in my current device and upgrade with JUMP! On Demand?
  • All customers need to bring their current device into their local T-Mobile store for a three-point check-up and to trade-in. This is different than how it worked with JUMP!
  • Because this is only the second flagship phone we’ve launched since introducing JUMP! On Demand, we’re still perfecting the systems to support mail-in trade-ins at this time.

I was told if you replace the phone with AppleCare you might be SOL. I went with their insurance for that reason.

This isn't true. All you have to do is call TMO with the updated IMEI number should you get a replacement via AppleCare+.

You got hustled into buying their insurance.

Good to know, thanks. My plan was to cancel their insurance and switch to AC+ after upgrading this month anyways since I'm going to buy out the 6S at the end of the lease. To the T-Mobile reps credit, I don't think they were intentionally deceiving me. I signed up for the JoD plan the minute the store opened day 1 back in June and all of the reps seemed confused about many aspects of the program.

So this is good. Since only plan to keep for a year and AppleCare is a year no extra insurance is needed.

Also, does anyone know if we will have to pay $100 (or more) per phone if we already have JOD! with a 64GB (or 128GB) phone?
I asked this same question when I saw the promo this summer, and this was the response from my contact at the T-Mobile store:

Subject: TOOP for the iPhone to iPhone $15 promo

Team,

To clarify the TOOP for the iPhone to iPhone $15 promo. A customer who participate in the iPhone promotion and decided to upgrade they will not have to put down a new down payment, regardless of credit class. The only reason that there could be a down payment would be if the customer wanted to upgrade from a 16GB to a larger memory variant.

So I was just told by the T-Mobile Rep (via Twitter) that if you have a 64GB iPhone you would not need to repay the down payment to get the new 64GB iPhone.

BUT - If you want to get the 128GB iPhone you have to pay the full $199. This makes ZERO sense that someone who has already paid $100 would have to pay the full price for the 128GB iPhone.

I'm just hoping that the preorder process is much better than it was last year. I'd hope that they have plenty of staff on hand for answering calls

Ok decided to go with Jod. I am already a TM customer but own my own phone. I can just call tonight and request a JOD phone? I am a postpaid account.

I'm not sure you're going to get the priority if you aren't already a JOD customer. If you want to be safe, you might want to switch to JOD at a store today with an iPhone 6 and then call to immediately upgrade tonight. Even though it seems kind of ridiculous, that should get you the priority placement on the upgrade.

I can wait. Just hope not to long

I'm on Jump! So I'm hoping Both Jump! And JOD customers can get the same level of priority.

Legere said on twitter that JUMP! and JOD get priority, he mentioned both in the same tweet.

What I don't get is what the regular jump downpayment/monthly pricing will be. All the info seems to be about JOD. I'm going from a 6 to a 6s+ so I know I'll have some amount down but I haven't seen any specifics.

Yea what I did about 15 minutes ago was I just called in to C/S and paid off the rest of my device. So now when I go into a T-Mobile store today I can just be put on JOD. Then I'll preorder later tonight.

So for everyone that did JOD with Introductory Pricing ($15/19) did you see your monthly bill increase?

My sister's iPhone 6 was $27 last week but after the $12 credit it came to $15. After upgrading her today to a 6s her monthly payment is $33? Which would equal $21 after the credit.

Not sure if another credit will apply or if the rep made an error?

Did she go from a 16GB to a higher memory model? This happened to me and rather than charging $99 upfront like they said they would they rolled the $99 into the 18 payments.

She already had a 64GB iPhone 6 - so she switched to the equivalent model (iPhone 6s 64GB) and this is what happened?

Yes, this weekend T-Mobile is waving the up front fee for the higher capacity models, and is rolling them into the monthly costs. It should still have the monthly credit. For instance, I got the 128GB 6S and my monthly payment is $39.10 (including tax), and the order shows no up front payment being charged. They also upgraded me to free overnight shipping even though the rep on the phone asked if I wanted next day or standard; which I replied standard. The terms and conditions for the lease still mentions the monthly credit as well.

But I have this JOD promo for last week guaranteeing that my payments would stay EXACTLY the same.

Can anyone else post screen shots from their new confirmation/bill of a iPhone 6s Plus (128GB) or iPhone 6s (64GB) that's supposed to be either $15 or $19 per month.

I want to see if mine looks accurate.

Thanks!

I am looking at my paper work and mine says 31.56 with the buyout price $182. - this is for 6s 64gb.
