Buying a sim from tmobiles website says its 99 cents but under it there is a grey word that says activation fee... Is there an activation fee?? The live help person said an activation fee is 35 but is waived? How?
There is no activation fee.

What is the speed you get?
Might grab another SIM for my iPad 2.
I thought iPad 2s were legit locked to carrier. If I have a Verizon iPad 2 can I buy a T-mobile sim and it will work?
GSM SIM slot is unlocked, but might only get 2G speeds from T-Mobile as their frequencies weren't officially covered until the Air came out.
In your opinion, is the free 200MB a game changer? Do you think the other providers will follow?
On the free data front? Not really. That 200MB free is just a teaser to get people inside the door so to speak. Once folks realize, hey, T-Mobile coverage/service isn't bad, they might start thinking of ditching their expensive postpaid plan and moving to T-Mobile.In your opinion, is the free 200MB a game changer? Do you think the other providers will follow?
I think it is, but not because 200 is that useful. It is because thousands of people (myself included), skipped the 'pay continuously' for something they use inconsistently. The service companies have been treating these like big cell phones and they're not and people have been buying wifi only because if it.
If enough people jump on board (read: TMO crows at their next quarterly meeting), the rest will have no choice but to follow.
And for folks who didn't bother to read the fine print, there's a $75 or 10% restocking fee if I remember correctly.Bad news to the people who financed and were new customers. You will be charged $10 a month this according to John Legere twitter. Let the canceling commence.
Does anyone know if it's possible to set up a my-tmobile account for these pre-paid plans like they're giving out with 200MB? It seems like in order to register you need to receive a text message, which the iPad can't do. Is there even any benefit to having access to my-tmobile?

my statement stays, T-mobile you lied not only once but twice when your CEO twitted "... everyone get fee 200mb, no exceptions, and sting attach.."
It is clearly not the case, your phone rep read a memo from the corporate read," ... do not offer free 200mb with 0% finance to "NEW Customer".
Fraud!!!!! i am returning the ipad air i ordered once i get it.
directly from t-mobile website which contradict press release and CEO twits,
"Questions on Shopping?
Do I have to be on a plan or a contract in order to get the free data?
In order to get the 200 MB of free data per month, you need to activate a Mobile Internet account and register your tablet on our network. You dont need to purchase an additional data plan.
If you are a postpaid customer, youll need to have an On Demand data plan at minimum which is $0/mo. if you are a voice customer (after $10 line credit).

If you are a prepaid customer, youll need to activate a prepaid account. You do not have to a purchase data pass in order to access your free Starter Data.

so 200mb is not free for new T-mobile customer.
if they charge me resock fee i am taking them to court as i have chat records, and recorded phone call to which the rep told me i will get 10 dollar credit. That is why i ordered
Relax guys it works. I am also a new customer, got fully paid ipad from apple store, turned off wifi and setup mobile account on ipad after 10-15 minutes got message on ipad saying account activated .
it doesnt for new customer who is financing
Oh Yes it does! I'm a new customer to T-Mobile. Yesterday I ordered a 32 GB white/silver iPad Air. I did it by phone because the web site forms were a little broken and not working right.
It's confirmed that I'm getting the 200 MB free for life. I paid $99 for the downpayment and will be paying the iPad off monthly = 26.25 x 24 months.
The sim card was $10 and the full federal tax on the iPad ($59) had to be paid up front ~ that was the biggest drawback, but I think they had to do it that way because of not charging interest on the monthly payments.
So I'm happy!I don't mind waiting 'til next Wednesday or so to receive it. I plan to get Apple Care directly from Apple.
