SO, if I have a prepaid plan with them and unlocked phone will that work?

Phone is unlocked*
It's for postpaid T-Mobile One plans only. You'd have to switch to postpaid on that rate plan.

Will this only be available on Sep 9 or the Entire pre order period?
Offer will be valid until 9/30 iirc.
[doublepost=1473316886][/doublepost]
Woah!

That's awesome. But I'll still have 3 days left on my contract when pre orders go up. Will they pay the ETF?
Not with this offer. The Carrier Freedom offer cannot be combined with thos one. You can do one or the other.

I read in another thread someone called and talked to a rep and found out you need to be on the new T-Mobile One plans. If true, not cool for me. I'd end up paying $20 more per month.
I'm a rep. That's accurate info.

Should I switch for one month and switch back the next month? :p

Will I have to finance the phone?

If yes, screw that then, I prefer to have payment free life.
Yes, the iPhone 7 has to be on an EIP. T-Mobile credits the EIP over 24 months to give you the phone for free.

Thanks for the info. Just realized is that I might have to stay on tmobile one then and switching back to prepaid might become an issue.

Hey, thanks for your off time answers!

How come we're seeing conflicted reports of whether you will need to switch to One on Reddit/twitter/other sources?

T-Force confirmed that you do NOT have to be on the T-Mobile ONE plan. You can keep your existing plan and use this offer.

Hypothetically, say in 1 years time if I wanna get the next new iPhone, what happens?

Can I jump on their newest promo at that time by turning this one back into them or will I need to pay remaining EIP? It does say you can turn it in and walk away with no fees so technically that should be true…

It's interesting how all the USA carriers went away from the phone subsidy model a few years ago, with T-Mobile leading the way, yet all have been offering BOGOs or subsidized phones since then. It seems the competition in the market is too great to not offer some incentives to customers.

This seems unclear. Safe bet to assume you'd have to pay off EIP to sign a new contract or trade in for a new promo. It'd be almost too good of a deal if you could return it no strings. Basically a free upgraded loaner until the next iphone.

I wouldn't care if I don't upgrade this year. The portability for me with no headphone jack just turns it off everytime I get excited about this new iPhone.

Just thinking about it, a camera that I barely use, faster almost twice, don't think I'll see the difference.

I bet the preorder demand will not be bad and people won't backed up for a while like I remember few years ago for 5 and 6

I'm already a T-Mobile customer and ditched AT&T for them two years ago. Glad to see they're making this offer.

I actually don't qualify because I am upgrading from an iPhone 5. It's cool, I knew that phone would last me a while when I got it in 2012 and it's definitely time for an upgrade, #firstworldproblems.

Damn you, AT&T. I live in an area where U-verse isn't available and DirecTV isn't allowed by HOA because of the dish. So because of geographical limitations, I can't participate in their offer. Cool.

According to twitter, you can trade in your 5 and add in $250 for the 7.

Seems like a steal to me. Only wish I was in the US.

T-Mobile is just waiving the initial upfront down payment. It's not free when payments of US$27.00 (£21.00) are still required for 36 months.

What T-Mobile is advertising is to people who don't read fine print. It's basically a full-price phone, with $100 (or down-payment waived) if you turn in your old phone.

You could have a better deal if you sold your phone on eBay; you'll also enjoy better coverage on Vodafone/Verizon..

Dollar-for-American-dollar, a better Unlimited Rateplan on AT&T's Cricket is the best choice.

Aaah, the wonders of American Adverts never cease to amaze. It's marketing sorcery.

Where do you see that fine print? From everything I've read the deal is for 24 months...you pay an EID and then they credit you back that same amount each month.

It's a legit offer. EIP has to be paid off in full first. Source: I'm a T-Mobile call center rep and we just got trained on this offer (in our pre-order prep) today.

Do you have to have T-Mobile One as your service?

The tooth fairy, easter bunny and I are patiently waiting for "VERIZON" to jump in with a deal.

:( like that's ever going to happen

That's weird. The c2 docs said you did as of about 10pm CST yesterday. I'm off today, but I will review upon going into work for launch preorders tonight.

Sounds like a pretty good deal, and available for not only new customers but existing ones as well. If coverage in my area was better I'd certainly be tempted to try T-Mobile out.

You still have to pay off the balance.
This promo locks you into a two year agreement with them. If you leave before the two years is up, you owe the remaining balance on the iPhone 7. They're basically making the monthly payments for you via a bill credit.
Isn't this basically going back to the 2 year contract model with an extra option of turning in the phone to get out of it instead of paying the ETF?

I'm in the US with T-Mobile but I'm not sure whether I want to do this or buy it outright. It's essentially like signing a two year contract and T-Mobile's coverage sucks so I'm not sure if I want to stay with them.

Always cracks me up when ATT tries to get in on these types of promos. Their offers never come close to competing.

I agree. Limiting it to UVerse/DTV customers seems awfully constricted.

Agreed, however, those of us who do use ATTWS and are smart shoppers head over to Best Buy, which matches those offers and adds an additional $200 GC per line. I needed a line for my mom, who lives in rural WA where ATTWS is pretty much it - and got a BOGO plus the 2 BB GC for two 64GB 6S handsets. We didn't make out too badly.

FWIW, the ATTWS Band 12 interop isn't up and running there or anywhere within 25 miles of her house so far on T-Mo or USCC - I checked just last week...

Tell me more. Are you saying that BB will match the TMo offer, but for ATT customers? And throw in Gift Cards for each line? Is this a standing, ongoing promotion, or a limited time thing?

Help me out if you will-
From ATT offer:
If I have Direct TV, ATT, and Uverse with 3 lines on my ATT account, how is it possible I can add a line from another carrier?

  • New and existing DIRECTV or AT&T U-verse customers: Starting Sept. 9, if you are a new or existing DIRECTV or AT&T U-verse customer, and you add a new line to your wireless account from another provider, you can get iPhone 7 32GB on either AT&T Next or AT&T Next Every Year after up to $650 in monthly bill credits when you activate your new smartphone with eligible service1. Want a different model? Just pay the small difference in your AT&T Next payments
