This emoji thing is getting out of control.
Why? Many people, especially younger users like them.
Do they hurt you in some manner?
This emoji thing is getting out of control.
And how is this on the top of Apple's To Do list again?Since this is on top of Apple's To Do list, why doesn't macrumors support the flood of emojis on iOS? I always find these)
) quite boring.
I don't understand the emoji outrage. If you don't like them don't use them. Plus you sound silly directing your outrage at Apple, since this has absolutely nothing to do with them
I don't understand why people feel the need to come on every news post about emojis to tell everyone how they don't use emojis and don't understand why anyone would use them and they should stop making more. Jeez! Emojis didn't kill your family. They are made for casual everyday conversations with your friends. If someone uses them in a professional conversation, well, yeah, that's stupid. Personally I use them to make the tone of my message more clear. I don't go replacing words with emojis. If someone enjoys them, then that's good! There are some things I don't use on iOS that other people enjoy, but I don't go around saying they should stop putting time on those features.
I had no idea what they were talking about until you said this.It took me way too long to even figure out what that was, My eyes initially saw it as a neck hanging down with a head attached. which makes no sense I know.
While I agree with everyone thinking it's weird people are so angry at Apple because the Unicode consortium is drawing cartoons, I also can't get Idiocracy out of my head.Idiocracy is happening sooner than we thought. They should just go ahead and do the ones from the hospital scene, too. It's the direction we're heading.
Um... This isn't Apple doing this, you realize that, right? Right?
And still none of that is what this is about. This isn't Apple doing what? Clearly... You and some others aren't looking at the big picture. Sure Apple did not make this article but when new emoji's are even considered to be "News" over and over again, you know that the amazing pipeline that Tim always talks about leads you to some swamp land that I would like to sell you. When almost all your computers are a "don't buy", you have machines that Pro's rely on that are over a thousand days old without updates or price adjustments. When their loyal followers are starting to turn on them because, never mind lack of innovation, but no products at all, you will start to understand the frustration that is going around.
I am sure MacRumors is just going along with the joke. If Tim and company decides to spend chunks of time in keynotes discussing emoji's instead of keeping their machines up to date, then why shouldn't everyone else chime in on this joke called Apple. Tim's lack of action and/or silence on the Mac Pro is making people angry and hurting Apple's reputation big time.
I am betting that the breastfeeding one will never make it to official status
I'm struggling to recall a single time they did more than say "All the latest emoji will be in (such and such an os)." Can you cite me an example? This isn't Apple doing what? Clearly... They're a really handy shorthand for communicating an emotional state that your reader should associate with whatever you just sent. The idea that they should be used to replace words is silly, but the concept of larger emotional context to a block of emotionless text is actually pretty useful, linguistically.Seriously, who uses these? I'll admit I have dabbled in them, to be ironic, but if someone sent me an email or text message full of these and expected me to try and interpret them I would simply mark it as spam or block the caller and delete. I don't want any friends that want to start using emoji as a form of communication, and honestly, nobody has anything important to say if its expressed in emoji.
I guess there is some fad based counter-culture in Japan that is ga-ga for emoji, but seriously the rest of the world doesn't give a rats ass about any of these so just stop.
We hit peak emoji in 2015, the fad is over. And when Tim Cook has to come out on stage and talk about this being a major new feature of every new iOS or macOS update that adds more emoji support, it's all pretty.
...but seriously the rest of the world doesn't give a rats ass about any of these so just stop.
Dude, you just used an sad emoji at the end of your post. Way to contradict yourself.
And still none of that is what this is about.
MacRumors posts more of whatever people click on most. They aren't going along with any joke. This isn't Apple doing what? Clearly... You and some others aren't looking at the big picture. Ok, so now this is serious. After the MacBook Pro unrelease they are back to serious work like this for another two years (or forever, because if they'll wait for Mac users to protest again before the next unrelease, they might find we left). You have now plenty of years available for continuing drawing emojis Apple!
What the article is actually about: Unicode Consortium publishing a list of proposed emoji additions. What is this about then?
