Can anyone else could deny/confirm the occurrence of this problem on macOS Ventura?
Did not checked before, but right now checked - problem is gone!! CMD+tap working almost perfectly!
MBP 14 pro (M1), 13.0 (Ventura).

So we have the first positive feedback since Monterey release ;)
Most of the described issues occur on MBP 14, and what about MBP 16?

Has anyone reported these issues directly to Apple through their feedback channels? I wonder if Apple bothers to screen user forums.

Does anyone have any information about fixing this problem in future MacOS releases? It is not serious for such an issue being unresolved for over a year. The entire MBP 14 is unusable for me at this moment (v. 13.0)...

Problem still alive and kicking for me on new MBP 14 with M1 Pro and macOS 13.0 Ventura.

Still broken on the latest beta of Ventura. Don't hold your breath - this will never get fixed. I've given up.
I don't believe my eyes...just checked again after reading about the apparent fix here on the last page.

IT'S FIXED HERE AS WELL!
I don't believe it, can it be true???

Can confirm. M1 Pro 14" on 12.4: Tap to click generally works well alone, but fails pretty reliably if a modifier key is pressed. Often requires three taps for a modified click to register.
Agreed. To throw is some more data, I thought for a while that palm rejection might be involved, my left hand often touches the trackpad when I do cmd-tap. I'm not really convinced that's the source of the problem but it does seem correlated.

(Aside: In general, I greatly dislike the enormous trackpads on the latest MacBooks. The palm rejection is good but not perfect and I can feel the strain in my little finger to keep it off the trackpad when scrolling. I disabled all 3- and 4-finger gestures and bought BetterTouchTool to replace their functionality with Force Click events.)

ETA: I just switched from Firefox to Safari as my default browser, and I don't recall having this problem with Firefox (which I have been using since I bought this 16" M1 MBPro in January). One more piece of poorly analyzed anecdotal data to toss into the pot.

Might be a silly question but is there no way to load previous macOS drivers in to Ventura etc?

My fight with this issue is well documented in this thread and ultimately Apple ended up refunding the purchase as I could not take a £3k gamble on an issue they might fix in future. As I still need to work I ended up purchasing a used 2018 MBP (intel) cheap. While I can almost live with the issue at £400, I am starting to get fed up with having to tap to click over and over and over again in order to get a file / image to open.

Call me crazy, but it actually seems to have been fixed in Ventura 13.0.1.
Still was an issue in 13.0.0.

It’s ridiculous, that doesn’t persist on m2 macbook air 😳🧐🤨🤪😭😖😟🥺😤🥵😱🤯

I figured everyone (including myself) has given up on Apple ever fixing it. But curiosity got to me, so I upgraded to 13.2 beta 2.

And... the issue remains unfixed.

So yesterday morning I updated my cheap intel “stop gap” MBP, tested and could not believe my eyes, or track pad….. issue fixed!!!! Yesterday evening I went to the local Apple Store and tested on both the M1 and M2 display units with no issues! Grabbed a 14” M2 Max and just finished setting up, zero track pad issues.

How is pinch-to-zoom?
