Target Information

I got mine at the Target in Redondo Beach last week. I noticed that several South Bay Targets got stock yesterday. The Torrance one still had one when I dropped in at 2 pm to see but I didn't buy it.
 
Just a quick heads up for anyone checking on the inventory tracker in north central NJ. The Watchung store does not have stock even though it still shows available for the 64GB WiFi black. I got there at 8:01am this morning. There were 2 other gentlemen already waiting. The electronics dept employee said they didn't have any. We politely asked for the manager. The manager scanned the barcode at which point their system said they had 5 of the 64GB wifi blacks on hand. She went and looked for them and found none.

She said they had gotten 15 yesterday and thinks its a lag issue. I'm pretty sure it showed unavailable all day yesterday, so it's possible this holds water.

There was also another sku showing as available online, but they don't have them either.

So we left empty handed. So, it's possible they've appeared since the open this morning, but I'd recommend calling first.
 
Thanks to all here. A number of them (mostly 32GB Black, wifi only) showed up in the Westchester/NYC area yesterday around 10:30am or so, as some here have already noted.

I had waited outside the Mt. Kisco store last week (was third in line), but they only had 1, so I didn't get it. Mt. Kisco showed up as having them yesterday morning, but it was 3:15pm before I could sneak out of work without trouble. When I got there, there were still 5 of them. The electronics manager remembered me from the day before, and let me buy one for me and one for my (very pregnant) wife.

Fantastic. Thanks for the links and while I didn't use the script (I wrote a PERL script that runs only when I click it), thanks for that too as it helped me write mine.

I canceled my Apple order when I got home and since we got it before the birth, my wife will have the iPad to use at the hospital.

Thanks guys! This thread pointed me in the right direction...I picked up 1 of the only 2 to come into the DFW metroplex today. It was a black 32GB WiFi. A nice guy waited with me for the store to open, and we both went back to ask the electronics section. The employee thought they didn't have any, we checked the case, and they had two that were crammed against the side.

It said "Available" on the tracker, so I guess that 2 qualifies.

Apparently they have been inundated with people calling and asking...I kinda feel bad for them. If you can, be as nice as you can to these people. They aren't Apple employees, so I'm sure it is double frustrating when people come there and are very pushy about their inventory.

Anyway, thanks to the OP, this was a great thread.

I want the black 64GB wifi. The target by my house in raleigh had 2x 64GB wifi "white" last week Wednesday, but I took a pass on it cuz it was white. Now I kind of wish I got it.

I don't really care what color, I would prefer to get black, but the way I see it is that you can just put a case on it or a skin, so the color really doesn't matter. They're already hard to come by, being picky about something as, relatively, unimportant as color is only going to make things more difficult. Just my opinion though, I can totally understand wanting to get EXACTLY what you want when you're spending a good chunk of change on it, but like I said, it's really easy to remedy a "color problem" and who knows? You may end up liking it anyway.
 
skoal74, I came in right after you around 8:15 or so and saw one person with a new ipad keyboard to check out and talking with someone. I had someone else look up the #s in a different department. She was having some trouble but talking with her she said Ipads did come in last night and disappeared and they are looking for them. who knows.

They only had white yesterday in 32 and 64 wifi only so I didn't pick one up I want black and will be patient until I can get a black one.

Im going to call at lunch and check. PM me if you want, I tried to PM you but I think you have that turned off.
 
went to target this morning had 5 white 64gb..wanted the 32gb black...does anyone know if they will get a shippment today and put it out tomorrow morning or this afternoon? I will keep checking the target all this week
 
Chantilly, VA Target as of 11am had 5 of black Wifi, black ATT, white ATT and white Verizon. All 16 GB only.
 
For the first time since release, one of my local Targets showed stock. I couldn't leave work, so by the time I was able to leave the stock status changed from Available to Limited Availability to Out of Stock in the span of two hours. Hopefully this store, and the closer ones to me, will start getting more in soon.
 
I bought a 64GB AT&T Black last week on a Tuesday. From checking stock the rest of the week it looks to me like they have the most stock on Mondays and Tuesdays. I'm seeing a lot of stores with different models in stock.

I didn't use the script but the weblinks were super helpful in landing me a 16GB White WiFi model. I didn't want white, but with the shortages and all and the missus wanted white, I said now or never. I had to sign up for an account to post this as I thought it was best to pay it forward.

The South Bay store updated today with available and so I called dreading a stock of 3 or 4. But lo and behold they had 20 this morning, now 18, someone bought one when i was on the phone lol.

They had white for WiFi only 16 and 32 and also had black for Att and Verizon - not sure on sizes. If you call they are very friendly.

Hope everyone gets what they want! :cool:
 
I was suprised to see the tracker list "limited availability" for a 32gb White WiFi iPad-2 this morning at a store within 100 miles of me. I jumped into my car and was there by 9:00am. There were only a few customers in the store, with most employees re-stocking shelves. I walked briskly back to the electronics dept and after a quick search for the iPad case, there she was! Found a clerk who claimed to have just stuck that iPad2 in the case, and after ringing up my 10%-off card, a $5 gift card I had, and using my Target card for another 5%, I had that iPad for just under $555. My wife will be thrilled. It is hers.
 
Princeton Target has stock (as of noon 3/22)

Thanks so much for posting the inventory search. I saw that the Princeton (NJ) Target had some that changed from "Out of Stock" to "In Stock" this morning, and so I called the store. Finally got a hold of someone in the electronics department and he told me that they didn't have any in stock - they had some yesterday, but not today. So I persisted and told him that I checked this morning and that the Verizon 64GB Black went from out of stock to in stock and he called the manager who said that they didn't have any... and then he verified in the system and said they were in stock so he would find them. He came back a few minutes later and told me that he found the box of 5 Verizon 64GB Black in the manager's office and that he would put them on the floor in 5 minutes. Got there in 4 minutes and now I have my new iPad. Moral of the story - don't always take no for an answer.
