I made some changes to TargetIpadStock.py. The main enhancement is html emails with links to the store/model availability page, so you can call up the page right on your phone to show to the guy in Electronics. Strangely, Target's websites don't actually show the model or dcpi. Everything is on page 38.
It was interesting how models showed up in the middle of the day, but since I work that doesn't help me much.
With minor modifications the script could also be used to track anything in high demand at Target. Should come in handy at Christmas.

Thanks you to everybody who helped out in this thread! After my area showing nothing in a 64GB Black GSM for days, they showed available at a store near me right during my lunch break this afternoon. I shot on over, and the girl at the electronics counter said she had literally just put them out.

Local targets here in central va have not received any shipments since launch and most didn't receive any on launch.
Central Richmond target had white 64g wifi early last week. Was gone by the end of the week but showed available for about 3 days.
What did you figure out??? Im having the same problem.
Installed ... python for windows ver-2.7.1
,,, after editing the script and pacing it in the folder, I execute the CMD window cd c:\temp
c:\temp>
c:\temp>python TargetIpadStock.py -t (Enter)
I get an error message
" 'python' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file "

If I only put in 1 zip code in the TargetIpadStock.py file does it still check the 10 closest stores like the Target website, or do you need multiple zip codes entered? Thanks. Finally got the program to run.
HELP !!! What Am I Doing Wrong?

Still no stock in my area. I get my taxes back in like, 2 weeks maximum and could feasibly get them this week (though next week is more likely). Hopefully the stores around here start getting some semi regularly fairly soon. It's really hard to fight the temptation of just settling for an iPad 1 and using the extra money I would've spent on an iPod touch or a used Mac mini or something.
But I know if I do that I'm gonna regret it because I want to use the iPad for games and productivity stuff like Garageband and iMovie, and I want to be able to multitask as well as possible. The extra power of the iPad 2 is something I'd really use, plus I'd have the best experience for future apps, at least until they upgrade the cpu/gpu again.
I've been considering the xoom as well but the lack of apps and unpredictable performance is a complete turn off (which sucks cuz I really like the device itself and the interface).
ANYWAYS lol I really want one, in case you all couldn't tell lol.

I was able to get 2 in the DC area today, but it was not easy and tons of people were there fighting for them. 64GB ATT White models. not what I wanted necessarily but my gf and i are happy

downtown. unfortunately there is no time... its a crapshoot. this was early evening. must have been a dozen people in the few minutes i was there.
this target info has gotten out of hand. the employees seem truly burned out by it and i feel sorry for them. some of the people are true asses and scream at them, especially when they see someone else get lucky (me) and demand one for themselves. it's pretty sad to be honest. i talked a bit with the employee and he said its been really really frustrating and they are tired of dealing with obnoxious apple fanatics, he said they are timid about even putting anything on display because people run in and go nuts if they see a box and go nuts if they see someone checking out with one. even if it truly is the last one, people have screamed at them to go to the back and find more "because the inventory says there is more"

Yeah I chased that one. It was a ghoster. I spoke with the manager and they checked everywhere. 30 minutes after I left, the manager had it removed from the system. So nothing has hit all week.

I live by the Woodrow Wilson Bridge so I think I'll hit the target out there by 7am and hope to get lucky. I'm actually military and leaving in 3 weeks or so for overseas and my order online is delayed I'm afraid til most likely after I leave and they don't deliver to PO Box's. So I'm going to have to do it this way. I actually stood in line on day 1 and got a 16G wifi because that is all they had left at the time but it won't do me any good over there so I have to do this. lol bummer

Jeez, that's horrible. I mean, I understand the frustration and that people really want one, but come on. There is such a thing as priorities and respect for a fellow human being is much more important than any material item. Seriously, it's not like the employees at the store are on a personal vendetta against one's quest for an iPad 2 you know what I mean? They're just doing their job.
Plus, I can assure you, that the next time those people go in the store they're not going to get good service or any sympathy. If someone's nice and they try a few times with no luck, and the people are still courteous anyway, maybe they'll hold one for you next time. I mean the chances of that are slim, but the chances are even slimmer if the customer acts like a total ******* and just adds more stress to the situation.

To Fix The Error, I went to Control Panel > System Advanced > Environmental Variatibles
A Window pops Up. In The Top Pane Of The Window I Entered --
Variable name:Path
Variable value: %PATH%;C:\Python27 (hit OK, OK, OK)and you are done
..
(note: "C:\Python27" is the location Phython installed to on my computer)
(check your computer to add the correct location)

I'm from Bucks County, and I rarely see a blip on these listings. A couple of stores have gotten 16 or 32's in once in the past week, but that has been it. And they didn't last long.
I'm looking for a 32GB 3G, and I haven't seen any of those in either color from AT&T or Verizon.

has anyone had any luck w/ the target inventory search for Raleigh NC? I've been looking for a black 64GB wifi, and nada for almost a week now...what the heck!!

Are you looking for one in particular? The Cary store had 16g wifi white models last week, and one store, Apex maybe? had 64g wifi white ones. They pop up and disappear very quickly.
I am unable to even search for an iPad2 on Target. The search takes me to an IPad 2 FAQ page. The only product listings I see online are for the first-gen iPad.
