Have an extra white one
I drove around in the storm on Wednesday to multiple locations and finally found a white 16GB WIFI-only Ipad 2. But then I surprisingly received a black one in the mail, which is what I really wanted.
If you are interested in buying the white one from me, PM me and we can arrange to meet. I am in Sunnyvale, CA. I think a fair price is $650 for all my trouble and given that I can ebay it for $700-800.
It is still sealed. You can even have the store receipt if you like.

+1. On Monday I sold a 64GB AT&T 3G iPad 2 on eBay for $1300. On Thursday I couldn't even get list for the exact same model. Supply is starting to quickly stabilize on the iPad 2 (the two Best Buys I visited today for the Incase Book Jacket -- which was out of stock BTW -- both had significant stock of the iPad 2) and the scalper market's going to disappear.
In what area are you in where bestbuy has "significant stock of the iPad 2" for sale?

Hah - so after trying the "run to Target" thing twice and getting nowhere, I'd resigned myself to ordering my iPad2 from Apple. I was still checking the inventory checker, but no Targets had my desired model in stock.
Last night, I walk into Walmart to grab something and happen to walk past the electronics dept. They had about 6-7 iPad2's in the case with a handful of iPad 1's.
Picked up a black 64GB Verizon for me, and went back today and got a white 64GB AT&T for me.
I think all the attention Target has been getting has allowed some stock to slip back into the Best Buys and Walmarts out there. Take a look, you might be surprised!

Same experience here in So Cal. Although there are some people on Craigslist selling them for the price they paid at BB/Target claiming they ordered/bought different versions and decided to keep only one. Not sure how legit these sellers are, but they're out there.
In the San Fernando Valley, I have noticed a total drought of AT&T models. Most likely because the majority of them are going to the worldwide launch.
I agree that the market premium seems to be decreasing and that the prices are coming down on eBay. But looking at completed auctions I can still see this model being sold for $700 even as recently as last night.
Still, I may have to adjust my expectations. If you are in the Bay Area and are still looking, feel free to make me an offer below $650. If I don't get any offers then this may become just a nice gift for a relative.
If you are in the Bay Area and have been using the Python script, you know how quickly these are disappearing when they show up. If you are going to continue trying, good luck and keep at it!
Yeah over here, I see people using scripts. If you are not at the store in 15 minutes in southern California, I've noticed that it will be out of stock. I am trying to help my friend score a unit and so far, no luck. I saw like 3 stores in a row with people purchasing up the last one right in front of me. Its so depressing.... but at least I know the scripts work. =D
So I can see why people would still pay that much for them. For the gas and time its kinda worth paying someone else.
