I wanted to send out a THANK YOU to all who have contributed to this topic. Using the ipad2locator i was able to get a 32mb verizon black model at the Galleria Target in Middletown NY. Fyi - when I left there at approx 2:30 there was still one for sale in the window case. From my experience today, Available means that there are at least 2 available (in my case 2) and i saw the ipad2locator result change to limited availability (just 1) shortly after I purchased mine. Good luck to everyone

Yup, the general consensus is:

Available = 2 or more in stock
Limited Availability = 1 in stock

One target store has had 64GB iPad for over two weeks according to ipad 2 locators but every time I call them they tell me they don't have it, even if I tell them there website says they have it.

Sounds like Watchung NJ. Show with a black 64gb multiple (available) and something else but have nothing in stock... hmmm.

Hey all - don't forget that some Walmarts do have them. Ask your local store. Only one out of about three stores in my area will carry them, but they were very helpful in letting me k ow their stocking schedule. As a result I scored the one I wanted today after checking Target relentlessly over the past week or so. :)

We just added the 500 "surprise" Radio Shack locations that will start carrying the iPad 2 on 3/29. Let me know how it works for you. They seem to be spread out pretty evenly across states:

Hopefully they start sharing inventory numbers online afterwards.

Amazing. First, because this app is awesome. Second because again the PHX area just isn't getting any iPad love.

My Target finally got 5 in but they were all Verizon 3G 64 GB white. Should have bought one and resold to a reseller. LOL

Haha. But I thought the reselling market has died out because of the international release, plus more stock in stores?

Yes, demand is so awful that the Target takes a whole hour or so to sell through any AT&T 3G units shortly after receiving them. Imagine if these were in demand, they wouldn't be languishing on the shelf nearly that long. :D

Thanks for the tip about Radioshack. I had been using the inventory checker for local Targets for about a week now, with no luck. Checking Walmart and Best Buy inventory too. Called the Fayetteville, NC Radioshack this morning and they confirmed they had the iPad 2 in stock. Drove out there (from Raleigh, NC) and arrived just in time to pick up the last 32gig Wifi - the exact model I was looking for.

Couldn't believe my luck! I had hoped the Radioshack tip would not be common knowledge yet, but the lady at the counter did confirm they had a line waiting when they opened the store.

Thank again to everyone who has contributed to this thread...

Just wanted to add my thanks to the people responsible for this thread. I ended up getting my iPad 2 from B&H, but I did use this thread extensively in my search.

Good luck to everyone still looking!

I just wanted to add my thanks to the creator of the python script. I was on my way to Walmart about 30 minutes away when my phone dinged and the script alerted me to a target 5 minutes away having it in stock. When I got to electronics, they were still unboxing them and putting the iPads in the display case. :)

Showef up at the Apple store 120th inline today. Needless to say, no iPad for me there. 7th in line at Radio Shack in San Diego at 9am, they only had three in stock. Drove to the only other Radio Shack featuring them in San Diego (a mall that opened at 10am) 3rd in line, only two in stock. On the open day for Radio Shack, only two!!!? very disappointed.

Another big THANK YOU to all who contributed to this thread. I used the Python script and www.ipad2locator.com to finally locate a 64G Black ATT Ipad2 at an Irvine, Ca, store.

Totally demoralized last week having missed by 5 minutes on a couple of occasions.

To those still hunting ....best of luck.

FYI: As of 3:30pm, Target San Ramon had 3 Verizon iPad2 in stock. At least one of them was a white 32GB one. The wifi only were already sold out when I got there.

Just posting here cuz the iPad locator does not show our store.

Long time reader, first time poster here. Just want to shared my story.

Let me tell you guys, the Python script is 100 stable. I had it running for the last 2 days non stop (ver9). Today I got a notice around 9:30 from the Irvine Target at Barranca. At 10 I got a different notice from the Rancho Santa Margarita Target. I took my time and went to the Irvine Target around 11:30. Went to the electronics department and the nice lady told be that she just sold the last ipad, but shared some nice info. They get their delivery via FedEx so they get it mid morning. Yesterday they got 5 16GB, and today they got 5 32GB. So I left to the Rancho Santa Margarita store, got there and scored a black 32GB.

On my way home, I stop by the Best Buy in Tustin Ranch off the 5. Went to the iPad department and they didn't have any. Went to the customer service / Return desk and they had a Verizon 16GB (No Thanks). Kept driving home, got off the freeway at Oso and went to Best Buy. Went to the iPad cage, they didn't have any. At 7PM Went to the customer service desk and asked for any ipads and got a BIG surprise. They just got a shipment and I scored a 64GB Black ATT. Happy customer. Many thanks to the guy or guys behind the Target Script. You guys are great.:D If you are down in So OC get down to the Best Buy at Oso off the 5.

This. I use gmail set up via MS Exchange push, so as soon as the email was sent I was notified. Good thing I didn't close the lid to my Macbook prior to leaving. :)

:confused::confused:
I still dont understand how to set up a "script" or auto notify. I just been reloading ipad2locator.com constantly for updates.

Having a beep or email alert when one becomes available is nice. Can you help? Haha:D

Somewhere in this thread is a python script. Download it and follow instructions in the thread to make it work. If you have a mac it is very easy. You just have to edit the parameters like your email addreess, which model you want, and zip code and run it. It will check the target website every so often and send you an email when it finds something.

2 hours later and they were still there? Wow.
