Sounds like it works for most people - just disappointed it didn't for me. Not a huge deal - 25mi round trip, but
Maclor, your site is awesome! Thanks to you, I was able to get my hands on a 16GB Black WiFi. I wanted a white one, and still have that on order from Apple. But this is an anniversary gift for my wife and we leave on a trip on 4/22 while the White one isn't scheduled to arrive until 4/26. It might get moved up, but just in case, I got this one as a backup.I got tired of resubmitting forms on a bunch of different tabs for different products, so I threw together an app that searches all stores within a few hundred miles of my location, for whatever models I selected.
You guys will probably find it pretty useful. Let me know if you end up snagging one. I found a 32GB white WiFi in Cupertino thanks to this. Wanted 16GB, but I'm sure I won't mind the extra space.

Good luck in the search...
WOW! I am sure glad I checked on this thread. I went to the ipadlocater link and a Target near me showed that it had a black 32 wifi only. Just what I have on order. Drove there right away and got the only one they had. Thank you macrumors forum.
was that in royal palm or boynton beach? i saw that those two stores had those models available. at least south florida is getting models.

Seriously PHX-area Targets aren't getting any love and no Arizona Radio Shacks are among the 500. So, when I saw that a Gilbert Target got a few in because of your site, I rushed there during lunch to get one. They only rec'd Black 16 and 32 WiFis and White 32 WiFis. So, I took the Black 16. And they only had one left when I bought this one. (There are 3 stores showing "false positives, at least according to their sales people for the last week, so when a new store showed Available, I took the chance it was real. And it was!!!
Plus, since I used my RED card to buy it, I got it for $25 less!
Thanks again!
It was in Deerfield. I work in Boca. But it was the last one.
Just a heads up by the way for anyone looking for an iPad 2 at a Target, I know it's been said a few times in here, but with so many pages, it can easily get lost.
It almost seems like the people that work in Electronics at Target are trained to say they are out immediately and with no hesitation. They are to not look in the back, case, computer, nor scanner, they are to just assume they do not have any and your job is to prove them wrong.
If you see that the inventory tracker on the site offered in this thread is showing iPad 2 as available, they most likely DO have them and the employee does not know this.
Insist they check the scan gun to verify they do not have them, reading through many messages here the person working there gets surprised when they see them in the system.
Look in the case, the other day I saw one in the case, asked if I could buy it, the worker insisted it wasnt the ipad 2 until he scanned it.
If the inventory tracker shows available and the scan gun shows it too, unless there is an error which there was one at my local store, they absolutely do have them.
Good luck, 4:30pm seems to be the time to check it![]()
I've noticed over the past couple of days iPad 2's are getting a little bit easier to locate. I was driving back from the high desert to Los Angeles looking for a white 32 or 64GB 3G model and found the following:
WalMart in Lancaster had 2 64GB Blk AT&T models. A shame, wife wants a white one. Left 'em. The clerk called the neighboring stores, one had a white 16GB WiFi. Not right model either.
Today at Target (The infamous one in Granada Hills/Northridge with all the false positives) had 4x iPad 2's discreetly tucked in the showcase. I wasked what they were: "64GB Verizon 3G models" the clerk replied. Me: "Verizon or AT&T?" Clerk: "Verizon" Me: "Yeccch!"
Left those too.
That's more iPad 2's than I have seen since launch in a mere two days.
The bad news for me is she's leaving for Japan in 24 hours and my 64GB Black AT&T model is now wiped and sporting the pink smart cover. She needs it pretty much to keep touch with the kid with facetime.Still 4 weeks to go until her order gets shipped according to Apple.
I agree that they are becoming more common to see in stores but the demand is still ridiculously high in my area
Though BestBuys and Walmarts and others are getting more stock hence seeing more availability online...but I still go to the stores and get nothing.
