Target pre order?

Well I just left target (had to get flu shot) and stopped by the mobile kiosk. Apparently they don't have all the pre-orders in as mine is not in yet. (6plus 64gig) They have all the preorders filled for the iPhone 6. I guess I have to be more specific when I ask about the what iPhone I ask for. He said they are expecting another order with more units any day now and are confident they will have them in by Friday. Right now they have 16gb pluses in, but nothing bigger. The new kid told me on the side if you don't get an email by Thursday night it won't be there on friday morning but could come in Friday afternoon.And yes as soon as they scan them in the email is automatically sent to you. Kinda worried now.

Called my Target and the rep said she didn't know if any had come it yet but that whatever they do get it would go to fill preorders. I asked if I could buy the phone off contract for full retail price and she said "I think we got an email saying that we couldn't sell them off contract, only to those eligible for an upgrade." I didn't explain my situation but I'm definitely pissed. I didn't make other plans because, like I said in an earlier post, I told the rep I wanted to buy off contract when I did the preorder. As far as I'm concerned if they didn't have all their employees trained that's their fault. I specifically avoided the Apple preorder and didn't ask off work Friday morning because I was counting on Target. I'm going to play dumb and hope that they will either just do it for me or will do it after I complain enough. My only fear is that, as Surfer I believe stated, the computers simply will not let them do it and there will be no override. But I plan on making damn sure there isn't because there's no doubt they f'ed up here.
Yea I'm kinda upset right now myself,you don't tell me you have all the phones in for preorder and then tell me "o we don't have the high capacity 6 Plus" and they "Hope" it will be here Friday. I don't think ne'er stand if I made a preorder they send every phone but the one I preordered. There is still time to get them as they said they are getting drop shipments so it doesn't have to come on their main truck but I'm actually losing hope.....
It appears some of my local targets have started checking in 6 16GB models. If your waiting for a 16GB iPhone 6, it looks pretty good for you.

Nothing in my area has anything in stock yet. Hoping by tomorrow afternoon I start seeing that change.
I called Target - they basically said that if I'm eligible for an upgrade through my carrier, even if it's an early upgrade, I should be fine when I go pick up my phone. But they did clarify that NEXT is not compatible with their systems. Still not sure what/who to believe.

Any updates? So far im 1-1 with Target pre orders.. They got me the 5 on launch day. Never got an email for the 5s. Hoping it changes to 2-1. Pre ordered the iPhone 6 Plus 64 gb gold last Friday.
From my understanding No Targets in my area have gotten any iPhone 6 plus units bigger than 16GB. Hopefully this will change before Friday.
I ordered a 6+ 16GB. Is the 16GB the most popular option for retailers to get in stock? If so, then I should be alright... hopefully. I don't want to be all flustered on launch day if they don't have my phone in, cause I'm gonna be drivin all over the place trying to find me a 6+ lol
Yeah just checked my stock locator and it only shows regular 6's and 6 plus 16 gb gold in certain stores here in NE Florida.

Only 16gig 6 Pluses showing in stock in Minnesota. If this is all there is, that is a huge marketing blunder. Big screen with a handicapped iOS!! I guess the stock mix could change over the next day or so.

Hmmm. I guess we can see a trend. Plan B will be waiting in my local Apple Store early Friday morning.
Still not getting the stock checker working on my end, but I did call my local store and they said they will have all preorders available for pickup on Friday. The guy said they have already got some in and I said I was the first to preorder at the store and he said that I would definitely get it Friday. I ordered the 128gb 6+ in gray for AT&T.
If I have no email by tomorrow afternoon, I'll just line up at my local AT&T store. I plan on getting there around 1am. My wife said she's gonna die laughing when I get the Traget email as I was walk out of AT&T with phones in hand!
I plan to go to my Verizon store Friday morning, even if I do get an email from Target. I don't want to risk Target not being able to sell me the phone if they can't figure out how to do the Edge upgrade.
I won't be there anywhere near 1am though. Maybe 7am. I'm trying to prepare myself for the disappointment of them being sold out. I'm just too pregnant to be standing around in a line for hours.

No kidding,I imagine the same thing happening to myself. Walk out with my phone after waiting hours in the line and then get the email from Target saying they have your phone.
Target said they could get the phones in on Friday also........ Weigh my chances risk Target getting them either tomorrow or Friday or camp out...

Interesting. My target store is now saying their software update lastnight failed and that they probably won't be able to do next upgrades until next week.
This essentially means my preorder will be a waste as "next week" is most definitely 48 hours after release.

Here's what I'm thinking to make this work for me:
My problem is that I'm not eligible for a 2-yr contract renewal, and I can't do the Edge Upgrade because I have a cracked screen on my Android.
I have a spare iPhone 4S, I'm thinking I move my number over to that 4S, then Friday morning when Target gets my 6+ in (positive thinking), I can upgrade to Edge using the 4S. Does that make sense? Do I understand the Edge requirements?

If you are just switching over to EDGE then you do not need to trade in your phone that you have now. You bought that phone outright. Now if your already on EDGE you must trade in the phone you are financing.

I'm sorry, I know this info may not necessarily help the folks who are looking to upgrade with Next/Edge.
The same rep I spoke to from yesterday answered and told me they haven't received any shipments yet, but all mobile staff members have been instructed to show up at 8:00am, 3 hours earlier than the usual 11:00am opening. He also mentioned after thoroughly digging around for final pre-ordering count, the entire store only had a total of about 25 pre-orders as of Tuesday night. As he reiterated, those who are on the list should be able to have their order fulfilled by Friday morning. Of course, all conditional on the fact that an email is delivered to our inbox. Finally, I asked when they expect a shipment to come in, and he says typically, shipments come late at night, and a graveyard inventory crew will scan the products in.
If I recall correctly, as Surfer mentioned, the email will coincide at the time the phones are scanned in..so perhaps more than likely the email may come early Friday morning.
So, that's it for me for now...there won't be any more updates from my store as of today. One final round of calls tomorrow.

I think this is very helpful. I'm from the SF Bay Area and it's definitely a nice update.
Does anyone know what time does the mobile store close? I'm googled and it said 10PM but i highly doubt it. Hoping to be able to make an appointment late Saturday night on my way home from a trip.
