Not sure if this matters at all. but my two friends that work at Target went though Apple.com for their phones so they can get them this friday. They could of used their employee discount if they would of pre-ordered through Target but decided against it because the system is super hit or miss. Nobody had an idea of how many of each phone they were getting or when exactly.

Im not sure if Target employees can purchase the phones when they first come out. I could be way wrong but I know ATT and Apple does not allow their employees to purchase the phones when in a high demand. I think Bestbuy does the same.

Where are you seeing the item #? I'm looking for a space grey ATT 128GB.

In the 'other info' area. Your # is 16483599

Been running the item numbers through that page and see some +'s popping up in the area, though I doubt my store will get the one I preordered

Might depend on the store, but nothing had ever stopped us before. I think all store management would expect us to do is just to preorder while we're not on the clock (i.e. done with work or on lunch). The 12th was a day off for me, so I thought that I may as well.

Can't speak on Apple, but can speak for AT&T and Target (I work for AT&T and my wife for Target). We used to have restrictions on getting the iPhone on launch day, but that changed either last year or the year before. And to my knowledge Target doesn't have any restrictions on their employees getting the phones on launch day either.

Also keep in mind that the mobile kiosk isn't Target's "money maker". While I think they got their **** together this year, that is why in the past they haven't been as on top of everything.

Hey this is how to see what your local target has in stock

go to this page and click on the phone you need http://www.target.com/s?searchTerm=iphone+6&category=&lnk=

on the product page locate the Online Item #: down by the description.

Use this link and add the Online Item # where the first xxxx's are and your zip code where the second set of xxx's are.

http://m.target.com/fiats-results/t-xxxxxxx?searchInput=xxxxx&errorPage=fiats

so http://m.target.com/fiats-results/t-ITEMNUMBERHERE?searchInput=ZIPCODE&errorPage=fiats

Looks like the website is showing "unavailable" now for me. I guess they dont want anyone to know if they have it or not.

The inventory across the board, all models and all stores, has gone dark. It says "unavailable" for everything. So, that means one of two things. Their IT noticed a lot of people querying their inventory though our link, or all the models they received are now spoken for. With all their inventory centered around the relatively useless 16 gig, it's hard to believe they sold out. So unless they received very few phones, their IT shut down the link.

Im going with IT shut it down. Because I know my store said they had inventory just for walk ins tomorrow.

Did anyone get an email when they initially preordered at the store? Didn't get anything, and I verified my email was correct on the pre order receipt...

Nope. Only time you'll receive an email is when it's in stock.

If those inventory pages were showing units that were preordered I can see why they'd turn them off. I sure hope that page would show "Unavailable" if they only had one Plus unit at my store - cos that sucker is MINE!

Hoping to hear some good news in this thread later today!

agreed. I could not sleep well last night so I kept refreshing. It was up until around 1am EST and then everything went to unavailable. I know previous to that, only one store in my state had 6 plus's in stock. Now its a real crap shoot.

Keep this as a reminder. UPS and Fedex drop ships to stores usually in the morning,Not saying it wont be on a regular truck for a later shipment but thats how they usually deliver for bigger companies. So if you haven't gotten your email by around 1PM then start looking at Plan B.

This is what im doing now. Its 931AM right now. Target Mobile just opened at 9AM. My store did get a truck today so im watching for my email like a hawk. Its its not here by 1PM im going to call,If they don't have it yet Im packing my stuff to get ready to camp.

Just got off the phone with one of the larger ATT stores in my area,She said don't expect ANY 6 Plus units in.

There will be some super disappointed people on this thread come tonight and tomm morning, target screwed me so bad last year

I know I am constantly refreshing my email. Prior to it going dark I know almost all Targets had regular 6's in stock. I will be calling a few local Walmarts (who did no preorders on Plus's) tonight to see if they got any in as well as Radioshack. Gotta be prepared for the worst!

Just out of curiosity, do you live in a bigger city? Trying to judge whether my ATT store will get any, as management must have told them not to give any stock details to customers. Cant budge more than "You'll have to wait until Friday" out of any of them.

yes it is located in a cpvery populated area.

My cousin is a manager of a verizon store. I am trying to get stock info from him and will update as he lets me know.

Stopped by my local apple store. Mentioned I "pre-orderded" with Target. They said historically they have had devices into 3 and 4 pm on launch day. May not be the color or size you want, but they'll have some phones.

We will see if Target comes through. If not, Apple store is a sure thing.

According to the website my store has nothing yet. And none do around the area either. If they don't get them launch day of gonna be so pissed

I don't think Apple or Target appreciate that's it's not enough to just say "we'll have phones". Or "you won't be disappointed on Friday". Or you'll get an email "sometime". Lots of people could invest in a strategy for launch day only to find out the specific phone & memory isn't there. There could be an overarching policy, for example, for retailers like Target & Walmart not to carry (or be allowed to carry) the 64 & 128 gig models. If this is the case, they should just say so, so those people can adjust. This affects peoples lives, their families, a day off from work, lost pay, etc etc etc. I really don't think they are thinking of anything else but creating a launch day frenzy of publicity. This is dangerous, as it's only a matter of time before someone gets so frustrated they go postal. In some of these lines, people allow their buddies to join them. And this is exacerbated when the stores don't hand out tickets far in advance enough of opening, and they don't police their own lines to prevent butting in. This could get bad in some areas......
