Mine shows the same. Driving me nuts. I called and talked to a women in customer service who told me it looks like it will come off backorder on 9/16 and I should get it on 9/17. I'm not holding my breath but who knows. I paid the extra $15 too.
I also got the strange $50 gift card email.
I am 100% sure I will get my jet black 128gb iPhone 7 I preordered from Apple tomorrow so I still have that to look forward to.
I am not getting that feedback at all. The representative has been trained to say it "might" or "won't" arrive tomorrow. I am only told to wait a few days and see what happens. I asked for a supervisor and he came back on the line and told me the Supervisor says to wait and see what happens tomorrow.
They have no idea what is going on.
I asked to speak to a Supervisor and they reluctantly came on. I pressed them on details about when the item was coming and they started stuttering worse than a politician telling a lie. They continued to tell me to just wait for the item and it would be coming. Suggesting more details were needed, I got put on hold so they could look at their notes on this issue. Excuse me, if you had notes about this, why didn't you start with that?
Their notes state that every customer who has preordered an Apple Watch will receive a $50 Gift Card as an Apology. She checked my email and said it was already sent. (I played dumb for now and said I would have to look.) She said that Apple cannot get the shipment to Target and they would not have the Watches available until the end of September. But no specific time can be given at this time.
However, I can go on Target.com and place an order for a Stainless Steel Apple Watch Series 2 in Silver and do Express Shipping for a promised 9/19 delivery. She said that date would be incorrect and she can't control what the website says.
Just another example of Third Parties who have no business handling preorders for Apple. It tarnishes the brand, angers customers, and makes them distrust everyone. Apple needs to handle preorders exclusively and Third Parties need to handle orders on a first come, first serve basis on release day.
So to summarize, there will be no Target Apple Watch orders arriving this weekend or even next week. It will be more in line to what Best Buy was saying with delivery on 9/26 to the end of the month at the earliest.
