Target Pre-Orders

Right now it says "Preparing to ship arriving through Thu, Sep 29 - Mon, Oct 17"

My original order says Sep 19-22, before they sent out the delay emails. I don't remember what it was after they realized there was a delay.

I originally ordered the 42 SG with nylon band, but this time ordered the one with sport band.

So I canceled with Best Buy last night, for my failed iPhone 7 Plus Preorder, and walked into an AT&T Corporate Store today and out with an iPhone Plus Gold 256 GB. I wanted Black 128 but I guess this is better than nothing.

On the watch front, my Best Buy got the newly refreshed Silver Series 1. I will wear that for 30 days, during the return period, while I try to secure my Stainless Steel Silver Series 2. Not sure if I will keep my Target Preorder or just by it directly from Apple. I really hate to give these Resellers any more money for failing us so badly.
 
Out running errands today. Went to Target and stopped by Best Buy for the heck of it. Both had series one watches in stock. Don't know what sizes/colors, didn't ask. Neither had series two, said they didn't expect any for "a long time".
 
I used my $150 GC from buying an iPad last black Friday. Gonna be a while before it ships tho, was hoping to swing by and grab one instore this morning but no dice.

The watches went very quick at all the Apple Stores today. Apparently they were the only ones with Series 2. Nobody wants Black Stainless Steel because of all the questions about the new coating they are using. Silver Stainless Steel didn't make it very long.
 
I canceled my order at Target because I don't trust they will deliver. In its place, I have put an order in at Apple. Hopefully it gets here before I have to return the watch I am wearing at Best Buy...

Seems like some people in this thread are blaming Target and Best Buy for this. Let's be clear though, Apple screwed both of them. Apple promised stock of the watches to them and failed to deliver. The fact that people ordering from Apple on Wednesday this week are now getting shipping notifications is just an outrage. I blame no one but Apple for this.

Yeah this whole thing stinks. If you promise your retailers stock then hat should stay. If that is indeed what happened that is.
 
Target is a joke. When I use their app to check store inventory for Series 2 almost all the watches/stores say "pick up in 4-7 days." But when I actually add it to my cart it says "arrives (at store) October 2-18.

I disagree. Apple doesn't tell customers they will deliver on Launch day, keep you in the dark, have horrible customer service that gives you no information (and in most cases just lies to you about what is really happening), and then fails to deliver. No, Target and Best Buy are completely at fault here. Apple should withhold all Preorder stock from them, for at least the next iPhone cycle, to ensure they have learned their lesson.
 
Actually received an email today saying, "Good news! Your item is on the way. Item shipped." And the order status page has a "track shipment" link (although clicking on it does not show an active tracking number yet).

Promising...but at this point I'll believe it when I see it. Could very well be just a hook to keep me from cancelling the order altogether.

Scored one tonight at BB after my target order was delayed. Now I'll cancel my order after I used my GC to order an extra band.

If the lesson is to not trust Apple when they make stock distribution promises, I think they learned it this time.
 
Hmmm, UPS shows a package arriving from Target on Tuesday. Apple shows a pending charge.

Decided to cancel the Apple order, since I was able to use gift cards for the Target order. Now if I can just get my $50 gift card so I can buy another band.....

Edit: it's a 38mm S2 SBSS

Congrats! What model? Nothing on mine yet.
 
I just cancelled my preorder and will keep my aw 0 ss. I was excited to get the new one but after playing with watch os3 for a few days I'm pretty happy with my current watch. Hopefully series 3 with be a bigger leap forward in hardware and battery life.
 
I still show a UPS shipment label created for overnight delivery on Tues. Target moved the charge on my Red card from pending to recent transactions. Target shows the watch as shipped, links to tracking...but says it will arrive between 9/29 and 10/15. SMH.

Which one did you order? SS's seem to be moving but haven't seen any aluminums.
 
UPS has my watch (S2 38mm SBSS) and it's supposedly arriving Wednesday before noon. Hopefully everyone else sees movement soon!
