London resident here- iPhones? Absolutely. iMessage? Find hard that to believe- I haven't met a single iPhone owner here who uses iMessage instead of WhatsApp.
I was in London for about two weeks for a school project. I had even downloaded WhatsApp expecting to have to use it.

Not even once. I was very happy bc iMessage is supreme and ugh the spam on WhatsApp is annoying

Yeah. I use AirPods. The person with the head holding the phone against the shoulder makes me lol.
I’m not against people spending eight hours a day staring at a screen or talking into one. Sure it’s not healthy, but that’s not my problem. My issue is when they are so addicted they cannot pause for even a few minutes to complete tasks like driving or interacting with other humans. They can’t pause their text a few minutes to drive causing crashes or their phone call long enough to check out at the store making everyone behind them wait longer.

Yeaah, you might want to Google what anecdotal means. All of the data backs up that none of Apple's services are really 'best in class', they don't lead any of the markets they occupy.
Who said they were best in class in this thread though? You’re the one discussing the quality of them which in turn fits the very definition of what I said above.

Thanks though. Now let me get back to actual engaging and enriching topics.

I’m not shocked at all.

I rarely see a person under 20 with an android lol.

I always sigh when a guy asks for my number and it’s green 🤣😂 but it’s rare I come across android user now in my late 20s.

I was pleasantly shocked that in London so many ppl used iPhones and iMessage bc to hear Europeans say it was a dead app lmao.

No need for you to Google, this is anecdata.

Spam on WhatsApp? I have used it daily for about 5 years and only see the messages I send and receive. What do you get?
I literally know none of these people calling me or messaging me lmao.

Not even sure where this area code is from.

There’s also some weird xxx spam I’ve gotten

Just like your opinion Apple services are more best in class.

It really isn't. Apple are struggling to convert their sizeable userbase with most of their services apart from iCloud storage.

Apple Music is scraping second place in the music streaming market after ten years with less than 100 million users (there are over a billion iPhone users alone). Market leader (Spotify) has twice the amount of paid users.

TV+ is less than 10% market share.

The others are hardly worth talking about, they are probably struggling for 10 million users combined.

Talking about teen iPhone ownership is an "enriching topic"?
No I meant conversation that we aren’t having. Like in other articles
Ah yes enriching topics.

"Ewwwwwww you're green bubble" "Android lol"
I know that’s a sensitive subject for Android fans lol. Why idk. But we all have our things.

Thankfully most of the people I converse with aren’t green and for the few who they are it doesn’t bother me much really.

Maybe 10 years ago, but I see lots of people using Android phones now. I don’t think the iPhone has the same must have status it did a few years ago when people used to queue in tents for days to get the latest model.

Isn’t Apple services revenue at a high lol. Yes that’s more than Apple TV and music but overall it is gradually increasing so I don’t think they’re too worried nor should they be.

Lmao we are really downplaying second place?

This is why your point doesn’t make sense.

Spotify has been widely available on
1. Windows
2. Xbox
3. PlayStation
4. Windows phone
5. Webos
6. BlackBerry
7. Chromebooks
8. Web browsers in general
9. Let’s not forget Android itself
)
Has a free option and has had a longer reign (and mind share) than Apple Music.

And you’re shocked Spotify has more users.

(Yes Apple is a bit more cross plardorm but that has not always been the case)

Keep in mind that people who HAVE Spotify premium already have countless libraries and playlists built that they can’t easily export elsewhere.

So you’re kind of stuck.
The word of the day is common sense on macrumors.

It shouldn’t be shocking that free or premium Spotify has a higher market share.

Windows is still the dominant desktop OS. So should we discredit Mac and chromebooks. Let’s be so for real.

Also you guys are always going on and on about Apple restricting choice lol.

There are a billion iPhone users. Clearly these ppl for whatever reason choose Spotify lol. Just like not everyone on windows uses edge.
TV+ is less than 10% market share.

The others are hardly worth talking about.

Okay and. lol.
You’re the only one talking about quality lol.

With the way Netflix is always raising prices or the quality of their library always being criticized, I can argue they aren’t the best. It’s all opinion.

Hulu is terrible. I only have it for Abbott elementary to watch.

Netflix I also have largely through my carrier.

You didn't receive a single message or call on WhatsApp? Right...
I know this may be a difficult concept for you, mate. But there are people in the Uk Who do use iMessage or FaceTime.

🤷🏾‍♀️
in most of my travels, I rarely have to use WhatsApp. Or telegram.

The only time was for some camp I went to and that’s largely before rcs (which i turned off anyway) and they wanted iPhone and Android group chats to be consistent

Apple is smart marketing to young people. These people have a lot of years left and are likely lifetime customers
I don’t know. I think they want the blue bubbles, but I am not sure they will do with many more years of Tim Crook destroying innovation and only caring about shareholders. Apple can market how green they are and all that but in the end, people will get fed up and something new will come along that takes over and dominantes. Unfortunately, without an innovator in the lead seat, it won’t be Apple creating the next big thing. Apple has milked all of Steve’s innovations for all it can under Crook. But I believe the slide has begun due to lack of innovation. Incremental updates mean these younger adults will hold onto their devices until they no longer function. In addition, with AI many less people will have money to buy overpriced outdated tech that Apple milks new features available in Android phones for years. We need a true third option that will be something radically different. Not a phone. Something that does it all rather than an ecosystem that’s locked in and attempts to act in anticompetitive ways every step of the process. I and done with Tim Crook. The only thing Apple has done really well are the M-series SoCs. But Apple appears to be just adding more power and heat to get any performance gains. And before you torch me, I have the new M3 Mac Studio maxed out and an M4 iPad Pro. But I am not a Gen Z. And for the first time ever, I do not own the latest iPhone since day one of the original iPhone. Every year I bought a new iPhone on launch day. Until this last year which I bought two but returned both as they presented no real value increase. From a 15 PM, I don’t see any reason to upgrade to a 17 series with downgraded aluminum from titanium. What a terrible decision. Now if the iPhone Air is somehow amazing, and titanium, I might buy it. But I am liking my work Pixel phone better and better every day.

Yeah they roll the near $20 billion they get from Google into services, that fee increases pretty much annually. That is more to do with maintaining monopolies than it is building great services.

Their services revenue would be much smaller without that and the icloud grift.

Lmao we are really downplaying second place?

Yes. They are a distant second despite having over a billion people using iPhones alone, before you account for Macs and iPads. The app is preinstalled on every single device they ship.

They were also the market leader for digital downloads, they had 80% of the market in the US and were the biggest music retailer in the world at one point. They have let that all slip in the streaming era.

They were talking about 100 million users at launch, ten years later they still haven't got there.
