Holiday update perhaps? That’s when they drop big fan favorites usually.

Intel atom support?
That's what I'm wondering. With HW3 being left behind as they move forward, I wonder if this is a way to circumvent that since it would be coming from the phone and not the older internals of the car.

HW3 is still being worked on and doesn't really affect infotainment stuff.

Barely. We'll see what 14 lite brings and it absolutely does affect infotainment. There are a lot of things that HW3 amd gets that intel doesn't. Full screen in park mode being one of them. Grok being another. And it will only get left behind more as things progress.

“Tesla apparently hopes that adding support for Apple CarPlay will help boost sales“
Yeah I bet they do lol. This is a no brainer in my opinion. Giving people the option does no harm to the people who prefer the stock interface.

I have HW3 (and also fully-paid for FSD). Really hoping this isn't a HW4-only thing.

They’re by far the most popular and prevant EV on the market. They were the first EV that didn’t look goofy af and in fact actually looked cool. Millions of people wouldnt own and keep and rave about them if theyre junk.
I owned one and never raved about it. And sold it because I loved the acceleration, but nothing else. Miserable overall quality, UI was a true mess (especially when things drastically changed after a software update), and it didn't let me travel to remote locations.

Their market domination has been slipping, along with the public perception. And without a doubt, the doofiest looking car on the road is that Tesla Tank CyberTruck disaster.

All my opinion of course. I know I'll never buy or recommend one again.

Tesla is working to add support for Apple CarPlay in its vehicles, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports.

Tesla vehicles rely on its own infotainment software system, which integrates vehicle functions, navigation, music, web browsing, and more. The automaker has been an outlier in foregoing support for Apple CarPlay, which has otherwise become an industry standard feature, allowing users to mirror their iPhone apps to their in-car infotainment screen.

Now, Tesla seems to have abruptly reversed course and apparently intends to add support for the highly requested feature. Apple CarPlay for Tesla vehicles is said to now be in testing, according to several individuals familiar with the matter. The company has purportedly discussed a roll out of feature "in the coming months," but release plans are not yet finalized and it could come at a later date.

Tesla's adoption of CarPlay will involve the feature operating "within a window inside its broader interface," rather than being a full-screen experience like it is in most vehicles. Tesla's implementation will also be the standard version of wireless CarPlay, rather than the next-generation CarPlay Ultra that started rolling out earlier this year.

Tesla apparently hopes that adding support for Apple CarPlay will help boost sales, with some prospective buyers citing the lack of CarPlay support as a reason for not choosing the company's cars.

I guess when your sales are falling off a cliff you will try anything to try to boost them. I think the issue is the leader and the lack of PR and marketing really doing any damage control

What do you mean? Guess your area is much different than ca. In CA there were 2 areas that were tough for travel but now both have a few superchargers, all of them had destination chargers before. I like to go to super remote areas and like to avoid highways and never had issues even with my model 3 performance which was on the shorter end of range.

They'll try anything to boost them except either of the two things that actually have a chance of doing so: redesigning their cars and/or getting rid of their radioactive CEO.

The "1 Trillion Dollar Man" isn't going anywhere.

Some are ok with him, I am not.

I will not buy a Tesla with him still involved.
There are so many great alternatives now anyhow.

Guess nobody can criticize a car unless they're the CEO of a better car company? 🤨

Also, Elon didn't "create" Tesla.

Yes you can criticize, but when you call the best modern USA based car company "junk", I think that deserves some push back. My father owned a car dealership for 30+ years so I know a few things about cars... Teslas are reliable, pushing new technology, they are anything but "junk". They are head and shoulder beyond what any other USA company is doing and single handedly changed the car industry world wide. Elon was not the founder but he made it the company it is today.

Overpaid executives at Tesla: "Sales are way down. How can we get people to start buying Tesla's again? How about we add CarPlay and attract all those Apple users who, until now, won't buy a Tesla because there's no CarPlay?"

No wonder they get paid millions.

2) Elon will just get pissy with Apple and take it away when he gets upset.

I haven’t been interested in Tesla for a few years now, but my initial reaction to this news was “maybe I should take another look”… your comment sounds plausible enough that I am again a step away from being inclined to buying a Tesla.

Tesla owners will defend Tesla to their grave. Sort of like another group I can't mention because this isn't the political forum.

I still give a pass to those who bought one before it got "weird".
I have a relative in this camp and she honestly can't financially do a swap even if she wanted to right now.

I'm not sure the stickers are needed though.
I've seen those a few times 🤨
