That’s your big takeaway from this AOD test?!
it's a fact, sorry, tech people knows that battery life is important, way more than having the display always turned on.

Was going to say, my wife is 5'1 and has tiny hands. She too has used Plus and Pro Max phones along side me since the 6+ and hasn't looked back. lol. She uses her phone easily 3-4x as much as I do too.No sir! Not at all. I actually want Apple to make the iPhone Pro Max Bigger. It definitely needs to get wider now. Upgraded to Pro Max size when iPhone 6 came out. Never been downgraded to a smaller size since then. I just love the overall size, battery life, and extra screen ratio. Well satisfied with it! I don't think I will ever prefer downgrading to a Pro screen size.
Battery on my iPhone 12 on iOS 16.2 is total garbage the las 20% on battery saver just makes it last 20 minutes at the most and when I close apps the apps still sound on the background its a total nightmare, plus I’m most certain the battery degraded faster because I sed a wireless charging station
Display Off retains 100% battery after 24 hours? No, its still on your network, pinging locations, backing up to icloud, etc.
I would love to see the numbers on this. I turned AOD off on my Watch because I only need to see it when it's raised, but if it's less energy to go {AOD → raised} as opposed to {off → raised} I'd consider changing my usage. But I can't turn off raise to wake, I need to see my notifications and face complications without using the other hand. So that's a different usage than yours, too.The biggest battery drain on Apple Watches is Raise to Wake. It drains more battery than AOD.

I’ve always used the AOD in my Watch(es) since it became a feature. I’ve never noticed burn-in. Even if I did, I get a new Watch every two years.Notice any burn in?
I'm not totally convinced this is true. When Apple first started using OLED with the iPhone X, they used pixel shifting technology, and I wouldn't think they would not still be using it, unless OLED panels now are immune to burn-in.In the video, PhoneBuff also compared the iPhone 14 Pro's always-on display technology to the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. One interesting point found in that comparison was that over time, the Galaxy S22 Ultra would move the clock on the always-on display around, presumably to prevent OLED burn-in from a static image being shown on display for prolonged periods.
On the iPhone, no such thing occurs, as time and all other information stay in place. The iPhone 14 Pro and Galaxy S22 Ultra drained at the same rate during the test, reaching 84% after 24 hours of the always-on display.
By your logic, anything that uses or drains the battery of your device is deemed a failure. The AOD on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max is shown to use less battery than the android counterpart that has a larger battery capacity. How is that considered a failure? 😂it's a fact, sorry, tech people knows that battery life is important, way more than having the display always turned on.
Unfortunately I don't have numbers to support it, but it's what I personally found after years of owning my Series 5.I would love to see the numbers on this. With the max being rebranded to ultra next year, I think we could see it’s size going up to 6.9 (like the Samsung s- ultra ) don’t u thinkNo sir! Not at all. ok and what’s the battery drain with AOD disabled ?
It's honestly worth the extra battery life, and bigger screen and it's so much easier to navigate around the screen. Once you start using it regularly you get used to it. I remember when iPhone 12 Pro/Pro Max came out. I upgraded to iPhone 12 Pro and it was the worst decision ever because I could not adjust to the size of the phone. I ended up ordering the Pro Max when that came out a month late during Covid-19.WoW , impressive
Heck yeah, bigger is always better , be it for the screen or the battery( which is consistently insane on the max )
But you can’t use it one handed…although for writing it doesn’t matter id say. But for taking pics, scrolling and watching videos and stuff, the weight and size do bother me
Guess I gotta lift some dumbbells
I always used AOD when I originally got my 14 Pro, but once the PB of iOS 16.2, I immediately installed it and turned off the wallpaper option. I really don’t need to see that — the primarily thing for me was having the clock, widgets and notifications still displayed.
I would hope so. I hope Apple is able to offer iPhone 15 Ultra in 2023. I hope Apple makes it highly premium and exclusive. There are people like me who are willing to pay whatever price Apple is going to charge for the high-end premium device. Heck, if Apple offers it in 6.9 sizes. I will by ordering two of themWith the max being rebranded to ultra next year, I think we could see it’s size going up to 6.9 (like the Samsung s- ultra ) don’t u think

Thank you for taking the time to watch the video and add details that MacRumors left out. The test conditions would have been something useful to report in the article, especially with the screenshot of the graph included that looks a little suspect out of context.Try watching the actual video next time. They addressed all the test conditions, including enabling airplane mode.
So you are saying my habits have to change to take care of my phone?!That phone is old enough that the battery could be worn out, especially if you have really bad charging habits (like keeping it charging all the time).
