Out of curiosity, what leads you to believe there is a conflict specifically with biteSMS?

True, ok it took me about 15 but I just don't feel that the commcenter hack is something that everyone would feel comfortable doing. I myself have flashed plenty of roms on various phones over the years and I was still uneasy about ssh into my iPhone. So, personally I think it's a great thing that someone autoran the code for it and isn't charging and arm n leg!
 
sorry if this isn't technically on the topic. but it relates to it somehow.

My girlfriend wants to have the TetherMe on her iPhone 4 also. But she's already bought something from cydia before *Cyntact* using her account.
Will i be able to enter my google account to install it on her iPhone without conflict?

Will it uninstall Cyntact for her, since it's using another account?

Well I was sent my /var/log/syslog to the developer so he can take a look at what's wrong with my phone... and he said

"do you know what biteSBarClient is? that's another library being linked to CommCenter that I don't recognize that could be related to your issue."
 
i have it installed but it will not work. It says tethering but not putting out any data, and when i look under system preferences on my mac it says "self assigned ip". Any ideas on how to fix this? It does not work under bluetooth either.

I don't even care if they want to charge me $20 for it, I'll take it, so long as it doesn't include Rock. I only need to tether a wifi only iPad, and only very occasionally--and at this point, I'm not interested in JB'ing the iPad. That means the Bluetooth/USB choices aren't a viable option.

I wanted to get this done before we leave on an upcoming trip, but I'm running out of time for an easy no-Rock wifi solution...

Just an additional FYI - this does not to exactly what the CommCenter hack does... And it is largely iOS version agnostic, unlike the CommCenter patch. This package does not modify commcenter directly, but rather uses MobileSubstrate

yeah, im with you. i purchased the mywi no rock back when it was ver 3.x
i hope someone else develops a simplistic wifi tether option(no put your laptop on ad-hoc mode, create a connection blah blah) and puts it on cydia only so that i can just quit thinking about mywi.
 
I ended up buying it. It's a MobileSubstrate plugin, which is nice because it's easily uninstallable.

It works fine, and along with iTether, I can tether to my iPad.
 
i have this installed on iphone 4 - 4.0.1 but its not showing up in settings -> general --> network.

ive rebooted several times and reinstalled the modification several times. anyone have any ideas about this?

If you have installed a modified profile via a website it can cause incompatibility. Currently also requires the signature key to be present in you main bundle, but an update will change that Soon(TM)
 
Tethering from iPhone to ipad

Installed itether on iPad and tether me on iPhone. Works flawlessly
 
The most painfully obvious issue with MyWi (Besides that it requires Rock) is WEP security. You might as well leave your MyWi unprotected. This can be a serious problem with hacking or even just running you tethering usage. I'll stick with tetherme until a WPA2 version of MyWi comes out.
