Remind me again who would want a blackberry phone in 2021?
Me. Looking at switching from Apple products so I'm interested to see what other shave to bring to the table.
Mind you, by your logic nobody else should even try. Not a person on the planet should want something different right?

MAKE BLACKBERRY GREAT AGAIN!

No, but seriously, why? Is there really a market for it?
Granted, sooner or later someone will topple both iOS and Android, but I don’t see it happening by BlackBerry doing the same thing. If it failed back then, what would it work now? So I don’t think there’s a market at all. Maybe a few people, but that doesn’t make it a market.

The BlackBerry Key* phones actually were very well received, the only problem was that TCL royally screwed up by refusing to update them and going AT&T only. I think if this new company can get behind it and promise 3 years of OS AND security updates and make it available to every carrier, they would have something. Are you going to get people to abandon their iPhones en masse? No. But you can definitely carve out a niche in the Android market.

I use a BlackBerry and (Key2) and love it to death. I know a lot of people find this topic humorous, but there are some business people (myself being one) who still see the phone as a productivity device rather than a play device. I know the iPhone can be a productivity device too, however the keyboard is a big deal to me.

The core Blackberry audience from the 90’s 20’s will barely be able to see the keyboard, let alone the tiny screen. Perhaps it will come w:
1. Charger
2. Headphones
3. Readers

I liked the recent android blackberry. As a corporate stooge who works from my phone constantly, I enjoy the physical keyboard. Rain your mockery upon me.
And as someone who has to support such users who insist on still using these buggy Android based Blackberrys, I will be glad when they are properly gone. It's the Blackberry hub which is the main problem, users having messages disappearing on them or being unable to open any message until they completely delete their accounts and re-add. Don't get these issues with any other phones.

Still have my old Blackberry Torch.
Threw it in the charger to see if it still powers up. Charging, but won’t power on just yet.
It’s been almost 4 years since I used it.
I actually liked this phone for work emails.

Lithium Ion will keep its charge for quite some time, but, if it falls below (I think more or less) 2.65 Volts it's dead.
That phone most likely will work again with a fresh battery, not that you want that...most likely.

There are other, much better options though. Blackberry isn't even Blackberry anymore. It's just a label slapped on a device made by a 3rd party made possible by a licensing agreement, and a new licensee at that which was made necessary after the previous 3rd party (TCL) said they were going to stop making "Blackberry" devices (presumably because nobody outside of the 50 people that still read Crackberry were buying them).

I’m honestly surprised that Facebook hasn’t started it’s own mobile operating system to compete. Also, since leadership has changed since Windows Mobile, Microsoft could come back into the game but I doubt that will happen anytime soon since they are also releasing Android devices now.

Why would anyone invest into this venture? You may as well just flush a pile of cash down the toilet Seeing how there’s 0 market for that type of device in 2021.

Oh it's dead. As I expected, the battery reads 0 volts. Will not hold a charge.

Funny thing is my old 3GS still charges and powers up and I've gone years in between each recharge.

I'm with you. If I had to carry a work phone I would want it to be a BB style with physical keyboard. Even their condensed keyboard was doable...of course my formative years were with a Palm and graffiti lol

Even with being an iPhone user since the 3GS, my favorite all-time phone was my Blackberry Curve with the roller ball.

I had one of those. Coming from a regular Blackberry at the time, I absolutely hated it. Thanks a lot for bringing back those horrific days. LOL

I believe many iPhone users have been having such problems (and others) over the past few months related or caused by iOS updates.
