This is my very first message to this forum-- please forgive me acting like a total newbie! ;o) I really, really could use some help. I'd love to accomplish this unique badge for Thanksgiving! Would someone kindly tell me how to find this particular announcement? For the life of me, I cannot find any notification anywhere on my watch (AW02) nor my iPhone Activity App. I do confess a wee bit of ignorance, so please educate me how to find (and perhaps activate) this badge so that I may be able to earn it on Thanksgiving Day. Thanks so much in advance! ;o)

Open Activity app on your iPhone.
Tap Achievement icon at the bottom.

You will see the Thanksgiving badge very faintly at the top. Tap that badge to see it bigger and read a description. That contains instructions for how to earn the badge.

But basically, on Thanksgiving Day, open Workout app on your watch, and start a walking, running or wheelchair workout, and do a 5k walk/run/roll.

For poops n' grins, I've been using my AW off-and-on for the past few days solely in Airplane Mode (testing its native timekeeping ability, mostly; and I don't get to use it at work anyway). Wonder if it'll register the "Turkey Trot" even without syncing with the phone before Thursday.

[doublepost=1479874436][/doublepost]Hello Night Spring (and others)!

Many kind thanks for your help, but alas, it didn't work...

I tried to follow your directions, and guess what? There's isn't any 'faint' Thanksgiving icon you speak of on my iPhone, at the achievement part of the Activity app.

What can be done now?

If anyone (else) can chime in, that would be great, as time is running out to make sure it is set up correctly in time for my Thanksgiving workout.

Thanks! May your Thanksgiving be a great and safe one! Warmly, G. ;o)

P.S. How did the alert arrive on your iPhone, by the way?

There was no "alert" -- it simply appeared in my Activity app. And, I wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't seen this thread.

By chance were out out of the country in the last few days and/or is your 'My Card' set up to your correct (US based) home address in Contacts?

It was a Notification on the :apple:Watch.

I think to get this badge to show up, you must update your iphone to 10.1.1

Once I did that, the badge showed up.

Well, I never saw that notification, but the badge showed up in my activity app anyway.
That is, there was no user action required to get the badge.
Oddly I don't remember seeing or hearing the Notification when it came in. I only saw it after reading this thread and scrolling back to past Notifications on my :apple:Watch.

I posted the two screenshots from the alert I received on my Watch at 6:00 am Monday morning as I was getting ready for my first run of the week. I did not know it was in my Activity App until I read this thread...

Hi again, everyone!

Finally solved it, and many, many thanks for your help!

Here's how it came about:

It turns out that updating my iPhone 7 to 10.1.1 didn't work at all.

My hubby earlier today clued me with information from another apple forum-- that suggested unpairing and (re)pairing my (very) new Series#2 birthday Apple watch, which finally did the trick. Now I see a faint version of the Thanksgiving badge-- at the very top of my achievement/badges 'page' in my activity app on the iPhone, ready to earn tomorrow.

I even walked the route today to make sure where to start and end my workout to achieve 3.1 mile requirement. (I'm staying at a resort out of town, hence making sure it all works out! ;o)

Again, many heartfelt thanks for coming to my rescue! I've been earning these badges and working out since I received my first watch in May of 2015, so I didn't want to break the routine, and in the process, earn a unique badge I haven't seen before. I'm SO grateful you all helped me resolve this, or at the very least tried to.

May your Thanksgiving be cheery, warm and bright! ;o) ;o)

Warmly, G.

OK all you turkey head wannabes, I'm the person that didn't *want to do this. :D It is 5:55am EST so what are you all doing?:D

*Also recovering from plantar fasciitis (I hope) and have only ran twice outside in the last 12 weeks. Did my first mile in sub 8 minutes but keep it slow after that. Don't like running in the dark.

Ok you two, how long did it take to get the badge? I finished my 5K 45 min ago using the outdoor run app on my watch and it shows up in the workout tab as 3.1 miles but no badge?

It worked! I've had my watch in Airplane Mode since at least the beginning of the week, too.

I'm having the same issue. iPhone and Apple Watch both show 3.7 mile workout - in fact they show over 4 miles after walking around this morning. But no badge.

Any ideas?

are you on 10.1.1? it seems like if you are not updated, you dont get the badge, not sure though

Well, I just completed my run in the Nike running club app. And I did not get the achievement. Mine was over 4 miles. It's showing up in health as well as the Activity app as a run. But I didn't get the achievement. Anyone help!

You didn't want to do it, but you did it anyway? ?????

I ended up doing a 5k walk yesterday when we went to the Botanical Garden. Trying to figure out if I can fit in another 5k today. We'll see!
