Just used the treadmill and did 3.33mi with the Apple Watch app. No badge. Suffered through it with a hangover to get that badge too! Glad I did it but really wanted to earn the special achievement.

Did you actually set up an exercise or you just did it on your own?

Even some people using the built in one did not get it.
I used the built-in one and did not get it. It also explicitly says you can use a 3rd party app that's tied to activity but I opted for the built-in one just to be absolutely sure I would receive the badge. Face on me!

I've been working crazy hours this week and hardly had any sleep (3 hrs on Tue night & 5 hrs last night- I know this may not look that bad, but combined with work stress & the fact my body is used to 8hrs/night, it's a killer!).
Decided to skip my workout today but then read about this award @9to5mac and that was enough to get me going! For some reasons, I didn't get any notification nor the award was in my Activity - Had to update both my Phone (10.1.1) & Watch (3.1) today to get it.
Thanks to Apple, moved my rear a little today :)

I did the outdoor run on my watch and nothing else. Logged 3.1 miles and still no badge. I'm on 10.2 and watch 3.1. The badge shows up, just shows I didn't do it.

I got it immediately after finishing my run, as I was walking up the driveway to my house.

If you get 19 hours of stand credits every day, you are not getting enough sleep! ;)

That's not typical ... that's our first day at Disneyland. Today is on track to beat yesterday plus the morning 5K. Damn turkey badge!!!

Well, I just completed my run in the Nike running club app. And I did not get the achievement. Mine was over 4 miles. It's showing up in health as well as the Activity app as a run. But I didn't get the achievement. Anyone help!

exactly the same for me. I'm on 10.2 on my iphone 7 plus and 3.1.1 on my Apple Watch Series 2. I ran 4.10 miles using NRC and no sticker yet. I switched my Apple Watch to a Series 0 on 3.1 software to see if that jogs it!

I did 4M today and didn't get the badge. Then I realized the watch thought I was in Aruba (so, my bad for not setting the correct region).

After I set the region to USA the outline of the award appeared, but it's not filled in. Don't know if it will rectify itself, but I have to take the blame if it doesn't. Oh well, the run still counts as far as health benefits, I can live without the pat on the back.

I had to save the workout and then a few mins later it popped up that I got the achievement. I did 3.2 miles treadmill.

So after running 2 5K's trying to get the stupid badge using a 3rd party app, I just did an outdoor walk using the Workout app and it finally gave me credit for it.

Wow! nice output today! I ran a 5k first thing this morning and didn't get the badge. I had planned to walk a 5k after dinner, but my stomach ain't having it.

Why don't you try a hard reset?

I find it odd that you are able to see the award outline, registered > 5k, but still not get it. Maybe because it needs to be there *before* you register the run for it to recognize your workout?

Let us know if it works in case you choose to reset.

Apple says this is a known issue, said we will get the badge it may just be delayed or unpair the watch, force restart and set it back up.

Lol! I'm with you. Curious, was the badge available for you before you ran? It wasn't for me.

I didn't realize I had the wrong region set, as soon as I set it to USA the badge became available. Unfortunately, that was after I ran 4 miles this morning.

When I changed the region, the watch reset. But then I did do a hard reset, still no badge. No biggie.
