I used Strava app and never got badge. Later in the day I used the built in Workout app and got badge

Well I was expecting that. Is the stickers anything to have?

It's just one sticker

Greetings everyone! ;o)

I've been traveling for the last 4 days, and only just got home. This is my first opportunity to give an update, as it were.

Surprise! On December 1st, the Thanksgiving badge finally showed up on my iPhone 7 in the achievements section, several days after the fact, along with another huge milestone of 500 days of working out with the watch(es), which I think is an accumulative both of my series 0 (SS black sports band) and series 2. Bad sentence that, but methinks you understand! ;o)

For the record, I activated my October birthday gift of series 2 watch (SS Milanese Loop) on November 10, 2016, after a visit to the Apple Store to find out why it wasn't syncing properly.

I must say, this 500 day achievement alone was the biggest surprise of all, as my watch series 0 'service' was interrupted with the failure a year ago of my new iPhone 6s, that died completely only within a few days of receiving it. There's no other way I can conceive getting this milestone, unless the wonderful Apple engineers found a way to update my current 'logs' of achievements with prior workout information. Or maybe I simply earned it all this time anyway. My brain is a bit foggy at this point, so sorry! ;o)

There wasn't any announcement/notification or anything for the Thanksgiving Badge... it simply showed up when I was (curiously) rechecking my achievements page for this 500 milestone accomplishment.

Now you understand why I was so worried about missing this Thanksgiving Activity Badge; the watch has transformed me from being very sedentary to somewhat active (right now I have some injuries that I need to recover from, so I'm doing modified workouts now, to keep the momentum and tallies going forward).

Everyone, try to find moments to keep going, despite the pull of the holidays, that make it so easy not to bother. I find myself quickly doing light exercising at night as to assure my totals are still being accomplished, no matter what before the inevitable midnight hour, when the watch resets itself for the new day.

More than anything, thanks for your support, and not to say, education!

May your holidays be warm, cheery and bright... and safe! ;o)

Warmly, G.

The 500 day achievement is for 500 days accumulative, not consecutive, so service interruption doesn't matter. That is, say you had 100 days before your old phone died, was without a phone for a few days, then did 400 days with the new phone, you'd get the 500 day badge.

Activity records are stored in your iPhone backup, so if you restored the backup of your old phone to your new phone, then the Activity records are transferred to the new phone. You can check this by opening the Activity app, going to the months view (tap name of month at top of screen) then scroll up to see your past records.

Yes, I'm aware of the backup, but as it happened at the time, I'd already gotten the new 6s phone in Emeryville, CA, and my watch was tethered to it. It completely died a few days later, taking irreplaceable memories (photos) and the like of a very important occasion (my 60th birthday) and so much more. To add insult to injury, that's when we found out I didn't have my iCloud coverage as originally thought, plus a few other issues. The watch could not be unpaired, causing a glitch in my history, and I couldn't record anything, let alone workouts, as it doesn't operate without a working phone.

To further complicate the problem, another apple store in San Luis Obispo, CA graciously came to the rescue, and replaced my phone as I was there at the time this failed/dead phone incident happened (we were still celebrating the remains of my special birthday ;), right before the store closed. Even then, the apple store crew forgot to find a way to (re)pair my watch with the 'new' phone... We had to make yet another trip to this store within 24 hours for them to force a (re)pairing of this watch (Series 0). After a few tries, they finally got my watch communicating with the newest iPhone, but the damage was done. Sadly, there wasn't any way we could recover from my past 5 months+ of workouts. Essentially, I had to start over, losing ALL past information.

Hopefully, I'm making sense here? ;o)

So understandably, after all that has happened, I was very nervous to try and get this Thanksgiving Badge working on both my phone and watch, for fear of losing stuff once again. Apple recently apologized to me for losing such valuable memories that way, it so happens.

Have a super day everyone! Kindly forgive me for being slightly off topic here, as I had to clarify what transpired.

Warmly, G.

Anyone else get a second badge yesterday? I got one on thanksgiving day and got a second one yesterday lol.

Wonder if there is gonna be an Xmas day achievement
If it hasn't been announced by now in the Activity app, then there probably won't be one.

BTW -- I ran my Thanksgiving 5K while I was experimenting with keeping my AW in Airplane Mode for an extended amount of time (ended up doing it for over three weeks). I switched back out of Airplane Mode at the beginning of this week, and after a couple days, my 5K badge (along with all the other Workouts I logged over those three weeks) showed up in the Activity app. All good here.

I was thinking the same but it hasn't shown up yet, so probably not. We're supposed to have warm weather I Bama so I'll get in 5k anyway.

Merry Christmas to all!

Over a month later and I finally got the Thanksgiving challenge showing up in the Activity app. I checked yesterday and there it was. Waiting to hear back from the Apple support rep that I've been working with to learn what the software engineers discovered. Hopefully they wont botch the upcoming New Years achievement.

At least we get 4 tries at this one. I ended up with two badges for the turkey day challenge and wish one would go away.
