The 16gb Iphone 6s is a slap in the face to consumers

Are you buying the 6S even after knowing a 16gb will be released?

WiFi. Obviously if you get by on 16gb you don't intend to install that many apps. I was referring to mostly pics and videos.

With 4K videos and 12MP photos (which are really short videos), it's not going to be long before that 16GB fills up. Especially since the OS takes up a serious chunk of that space right out of the box

Like everyone will take 4k videos, some folks use their iPhones as a business communication tool and not social device.

Which is basically what I said in my earlier post. The only way 16GB will be enough is if you don't use the camera and install few apps -- basically business use.
 
Apple showed today that they run the show, not whiny crybaby consumers. They build what they want and the masses will flock to them and buy it! 1GB or 2GB of RAM 16 or 32 GB of storage... Apple knows how capitalism works and proved they are boss!!

I have always supported apple, but their come a point when its time to stop supporting a company that is out to screw the consumer. The iphone 6 has ton's of complaints about storage at the 16gb level and now with the increased megapixel's and 4k video 16gb will fill up so fast you'll be screwed in no time.

The only possible way for apple to redeem themselves from this problem would be to release the iphone 6s 16gb version at $549 and release the 64GB at $649. If the 16GB is $649 then their only motive is to force everyone to skip that model and buy a 64gb version making this the new "Base Model" I hope consumers fight back this time with their wallets this time and launch sales fail drastically. I plan to wait it out and see what happen, but I'm definitely not per-ordering it or buying it this month. If people dont wait and they still make record sales then you'll continue to see this bad behavior from apple and thjei fully expect a 16gb iPhone 7.

100% Yes its a Slap in the Face. Why $249 My Samsung Note 5, has a Force Sensitive OLED Display Much Higher resolution and Color Gamut than the 6s Plus and a 8 Core 64-Bit CPU and 4GB DDR4 RAM. I can do MORE things and it has More Features than the iPad Pro period. And its has 32GB storage for $249.99

Ok that basically makes it a Mini 5.7 inch iPad Pro

My iPhone 6 A8 CPU 1GB RAM I love it but now Essentially its a Mini iPad 4 same Specs.

so I really wanted an new iPad Today iPad Air 3 or iPad Mini 4 with decent Specs not just iPhone 6 guts

So Apple slapped me in the Face twice today.

I literally have a $500 Best Buy Gift card in my pocket which will sit there Until Apples new

2016 iPad Air 3 with 3D Force Touch and Apple Pencil display.

No way, they're going to sell millions and millions of iPhones once again. The vast majority of people don't care about storage sizes and memory and things that people on message boards care about.

Eh, maybe not today or tomorrow, but if they keep chasing quarterly profits over the customer experience and quality, it will eventually bite them in the ass.

Exactly. What is the point of buying a 6S if you have no plans to use the camera or install many apps? If that's all you use a phone for then any phone will work, even cheap android Phones or even the iPhone 5s/5c there is no reason to own the 6S if you don't plan to use it for all its features. For those customers it makes more sense for them to buy a 6 or stick with the 6 of you already have it than spend the money on a 16gb S version.

If I upgrade I'll buy the 64GB model, but I get why a 16GB base irks people so much. I think the 32GB iPad Pro base is the bigger "slap", though.

The only reason I choose the samsungs is because of the storage/price ratio on top of the fact that I choose to no longer support apple for their deliberately attempt to stay behind the time and increase the standard. If you support this type of behavior you will be disappointed in the long run. Now if the 16gb was $549, $64gb was $649 and the 128gb was $749 I would have bought two. If Apple offered the 64GB at $649 I would have bought two; however, they choose to keep the outdated 16gb option at $649 which was an obvious deliberate attempt at forcing us to pay more in order to enjoy the phones full features.

I think your communication will matter. I've gone ahead and deleted my post. I did end up giving the keynote a second look with the rest of my family. I am not sure what to think of where they are going.

That's nothing compared the the billions they lost. IPhone sales have already been lacking real bad and continues to hurt the company and the new 6s fails too even catch up with their competitors in basic specs. People have overlooked the fact that we never expected apple to add an SD card storage slot to the phones but it's 2015 and the iPhone has 4k video! 16GB is a slap in the face when combined with a 4k camera.

How greedy do you have to be at Apple to not think about the consumers? You can buy 128gb micro sd cards for $30 now and Apple could get it for even less. The only way this 16GB version would have been acceptable would have been a price reduction or apple finally adding an SD card slot into the phone.

iPhone sales have dropped drastically.

As I mentioned before, my 16 GB 5s had over 500 mp3s, over 1000 photos, and a few dozen apps. And it was never entirely full. I think 16GB can go further than some people realize.

You have a 5mb camera... 12 mp is more than double file size For photos and videos. 16gb was fine for a 5s (it's what I have) but it will not be for the new phone unless people deliberately shrink their photos or reduce the quality of their photos to gain access to more photos/video space. If your going to sacrifice quality just to have more space then your buying the wrong phone and you might as well stay with the 6 or 5s.
