So Apple raised the price $100 since its introduction in 2007. That raise is LESS than inflation.

Look at the rise of Gas prices, food, water, housing, eletricity, since 2007.

16GB is not unusable. I had a 5S than a 6+ this year. I only use 10GB of storage. I own a 64GB model.

Stop talking for the entire WORLD saying 16GB is not enough.

Like I said this is like clothing. Do you grumble that Men's jeans cost more than kids jeans? Do you write letters to Levi's that its unfair that the kid's jeans cost $20 while the Men's jeans cost $30? Bottom line is if 16GB does not fit your life style get the 64GB.

And if the $100 upgrade is too much then maybe its time to switch to a non-premium brand.

Actually the original iPhone was $600 WITH A CONTRACT, until they later lowered it.

You realize phones have actually been going down in price, right? Except Apple of course. Many "flagship" Android phones can now be found for $400-$550 while before most were $600-$700.

16GB is even more unusable this year with 4k videos and live photos, that's my point.

Stop comparing Apple to Android phones.

Apple is premium. Android isn't.

Apple fans? Wow so weird right? Apple fans on an Apple site.

I'm bring FACTS to the table. Go ahead and prove me a shill by disproving my FACTS.

Funny how people who don't have FACTS on their side start to throw insults.
There's so much wrong with what you say it's hard to muster up the patience to respond. The gist is, though, that you're acting like the 16GB option is strategically/financially paramount, and that Apple is like a house of cards - do the customers one favor and the whole thing comes falling down. As others have pointed out, here's the only facts you should care about: Apple has the biggest market valuation of any company ever, they're sitting on over $150b in cash, and they suck over 90% of the profits made in the smartphone industry while only having 18% market share.

Bottom line is, we don't have an ethical obligation to Apple to keep our mouths shut as they bend us over to feed their growing ego/mountain of cash.

Am I the only one thinking that the soap probably thought that Apple should never release a bigger iPhone than 3.5, then 4 inches?

Probably never thought they should get rid of 8gb as the standard either right? If you are even old enough to remember those days, because honesty you sound really young with the way you are acting.

I guess what I'm getting at is there is no changing this kids mind until Apple says otherwise. Then he will go with whatever they tell him to next.

Also there is nothing wrong with being an apple fan, most of us here probably are. The OP is kind of like that stalker ex gf though.

And who is in better position to make these decisions?

A random guy on the internet who knows maybe 300 iPhone users or Apple who has data on 400,000,000 iPhone users?

I'm sorry but I'll trust Apple that they know what they are doing.

I'm referring to stuttery animations throughout the OS in iOS 9. App switcher stutters, rotating keyboard in spotlight stutters...

That sucks to hear. I'm still running on the latest version of 8. Would you recommend holding off on 9 whenever Apple officially releases it to the general public?

That is not a fact. That is false. And proves what everyone is saying here about you.

Android is not premium.

That is why Apple has 92% of smartphone profits.

The facts are facts. Apple has about 80% market share of the premium market. Apple will sell about 250,000,000 premium phones next year. Samsung will be lucky to sell 50,000,000.

Consumers vote with their wallet. And ultimately it is the consumer who decides what is premium or not.

These are not facts Warrior, these are opinions. Some like how Android is customizable to their liking, or the ability to do things with their phones not possible on iOS, while others like simplicity and robustness that iOS offers.

And why shouldn't we compare them to Android phones? After all, people are usually looking for an iPhone or Android phone, and often cross shop.

Hold on their cowboy. The iPhone is the best selling phone, but Android has more marketshare than iOS. And your point about smartphone profits proves our point, that Apple should not skimp out and give us a 32GB starting storage capacity.

Well clearly they had to make bigger iPhones when they are in fact the ones who said 3.5 was the perfect screen size, then said 4 inches was. Now they have 4.7 and 5.5 inch screens.

So yeah Apple does make the stuff but the people have had the demand for it.

If you don't like the price of Apple products go buy something else. NO one is stopping you.

First, marketing and the Apple brand have a HUGE part to do with profits and their consumers. It is not directly related to premium quality. Same could be said for Nike.

Technology and uses of smartphones are constantly changing.

I'm glad Apple is not stubborn like Blackberry who refused to switch to touch keyboard before it was too late.

Again the consumer will decide if 16GB is enough or not. If they stop buying 16GB phones Apple will have to adjust.

You could say the same thing about all premium brands: Nike, LV, Rolex, ect.

Bottom line is the market is telling us that the iPhone is the best phone in the world. Thus being the case the premium price tag is justified.

Again Apple can hardly keep up with demand the first 6 months of release. Why would they sacrifice profits and give stuff away for free? That makes zero sense.

As if the smartphone world is rich and diverse...if you have other Apple products and are invested in their ecosystem, switching to Android isn't really a viable option. Apple is touting their new Live Photos and 4K video, all without providing the storage to adequately use those features. If you think Apple should somehow be immune to criticism, or can do whatever they like so long as they continue profiting, then you really are a shill.

iOS 9 will be available this Wednesday. Honestly, I'm not sure whether it's worth updating. Apple promised better performance with iOS 9 and 6 Plus performs worse than on 8.4.1.
You could try it and downgrade if you don't like it. (Downgrades should be possible for a day or two after public release).

Take a test drive of a Note 5. Compare it to the Apple 6+. You won't come out saying the Note is better because you are an Apple loyalist. But you will be lying if you said it was "cheap" compared to the 6+. The 6+ is the biggest joke in premium phones I have seen in a while and apple did a number on many by slapping a bigger screen in a 5S.

Sorry I was unclear. I mean marketshare for premium phones ( over $500)

Ok. Samsung can be considered premium like how an Infiniti car can be considered luxury. But we all know the blue bloods of luxury are BMW and Merc.

Same with Apple. Samsung is like Infiniti/Acura. Apple is like BMW/Merc.

Even the luxury auto space the top end premium brands like BMW/Merc charge 10-15% more than Acura/Lexus/Infinit.

No they will not.

Let's be honest, many consumers of iPhones are kids, teenagers, and elderly, and don't know much about specs. If you tell them one has 16GB of storage and the other is 32GB, most will look at you like they don't know what you're talking about.

People buy iPhones because they are popular, and Apple is a good brand. They could come with 8GB of storage and a crappy battery and they will still fly off the shelves. People want an iPhone and they want to pay the least amount possible.

I'm sorry but the S6 Edge + is more than a worthy opponent to the Iphone 6S plus.

In terms of specs (not discussing whether you think the RW performance is better), it utterly destroys the iPhone. Hardware such as the screen almost make purchasing it worth it alone.

Oh and have half of you ever actually held the Edge+? I'd say its build quality is superior to the 6/6S. I watched a drop test the other day where some bloke dropped both the Edge+ and the 6S+ from 10 feet and the 6S opened up on impact yet the S6E+ remained intact.

You're all welcome to purchase iOS devices but suggesting that the top samsung handsets are not premium devices is laughable.

That's the problem with Samsung devices. While the specs are awesome, the OS and Touchwiz seem to need them to run on par with the 6/6s and iOS. The real bummer is, between Samsung and the carriers, software updates can take a really long time before seeing release onto the phones. Granted it probably doesn't matter to the average smartphone user, that aspect really bugs me. The design and build quality of their recent offerings are really nice though.

For the record, I'm not defending op - I'm A fan of both camps.

I'm sure the note has amazing hardware. But lets get real. Its all about the ecosystem. Why would I get a phone that does not tie into the same ecosystem as my iPad? Why would I give up AppleMusic, ApplePay, TouchID, the newest Apps, and having regular OS updates?

You can say whatever you want about the 6+. But its an awesome phone. But in your world the 6+ has an A7 processor in it.
