No they will not.

Let's be honest, many consumers of iPhones are kids, teenagers, and elderly, and don't know much about specs. If you tell them one has 16GB of storage and the other is 32GB, most will look at you like they don't know what you're talking about.

People buy iPhones because they are popular, and Apple is a good brand. They could come with 8GB of storage and a crappy battery and they will still fly off the shelves. People want an iPhone and they want to pay the least amount possible.

No it won't. Look at the iPhone 5C with 8GB. Those sold like crap.

Didn't the 5C start at 8GB?
I wonder how this Apple shill would defend that. lol

That was a mistake by Apple, and that's why they got rid of it.

So what is your point z31fantasic?

Do you think the iPhone 6s 64GB is a ripoff at $750?

You calling me a shill is pretty pointless without you making your point.

People on here are calling iPhones premium devices and saying devices with a different operating system on them are not premium? I mean wtf.

If anything the high end android devices are more premium. I mean lets face it, they have better technology in them. An iPhone 6S in 2015 has a flipping 750p LCD screen. Does that shout premium to you?! Apple have shoved 2GB ram inside of their flagships. Does that shout premium to you?

At the same time they're saying a curved, 2k screen with greatest contrast and most accurate colours as seen on the S6 series is not premium. They're saying devices with 4GB of ram and unmatched NAND storage speeds are not premium.

Apparently a smartphone that can't multi-task and can't attach more than 2 differing files to an email is a premium device. give it a rest

I'm not taking sides but just highlighting the ridiculous nature of comments on this thread.

Technology and uses of smartphones are constantly changing.

I'm glad Apple is not stubborn like Blackberry who refused to switch to touch keyboard before it was too late.

Again the consumer will decide if 16GB is enough or not. If they stop buying 16GB phones Apple will have to adjust.
Majority of consumers will simply just buy whatever is cheaper. Apple might as well only offer 8 GB then and never upgrade.

I'm sure the note has amazing hardware. But lets get real. Its all about the ecosystem. Why would I get a phone that does not tie into the same ecosystem as my iPad? Why would I give up AppleMusic, ApplePay, TouchID, the newest Apps, and having regular OS updates?

You can say whatever you want about the 6+. But its an awesome phone. But in your world the 6+ has an A7 processor in it.

Same could be said about the Google Ecosystem. Agreed, Ecosystem is a major factor and the whole point of getting phone users embedded. It is tough to switch. But that has nothing to do with quality. That is subjective to the ecosystem you use and like.

And yes, everyone said that A8 enough of an upgrade to power the larger device /s

16GB is a joke. Especially for a company that prides itself on having products that "just work". I have a lot of family/friends/coworkers who aren't tech savvy and don't know a GB from a tomato. They buy the base model because they think they are base users and don't care about having a more expensive "fancier" (how they see it) model. Most of them are having various issues with their phones now because they don't even have enough storage left to update to the latest iOS version. This seems to just make the phones buggy. One is stuck on updating about 50 apps but it can't because there is no room, but there isn't a way to cancel the updates either... One has all kinds of messaging issues, can't activate imessages (probably because of old software version) and can't delete some music on their phone to make more room (without deleting it all) because they don't have a computer to connect to. Some just take a lot of pictures or have kids that download a bunch of apps and they aren't savvy enough to delete app data, or transfer pictures to a computer. They are always asking me to help them, and it is all because of the same problem. They don't have any space left on their iphone. Can a 16gb device be properly managed so you don't run out of room? sure, if you know what you're doing, but i'm guessing most of the people that buy this model are the less techy ones that don't even realize how much space they need and then wonder why their phones start bugging out when it gets all filled up. A 16GB phone these days is basically good for a person who wants internet access, and to be able to run a few apps. Anyone who takes pictures/videos, listens to music/books, downloads a ton of apps are just asking for a bad experience with this model unless they know what they are doing.

And that's your reasoning for calling it a non-premium device? Because it doesn't tie into your Apple ecosystem?

Android has equivalents for all of those. They have Play Music, Android Pay, Samsung has a fingerprint sensor, Android has new apps relatively the same time depending on the dev. The only thing you have that's correct are the slow OS updates.

No it won't. Look at the iPhone 5C with 8GB. Those sold like crap.
Hmmm, I see quite a few 5C's around, especially with the kids/teenagers and elderly who want the cheapest phone possible but still has the Apple name.

The fact that the iOS is streamlined as well as it is doesn't hurt either.

The human eye can't even tell the difference between 750p and 1080p on a 4.7 inch screen held at normal distance.

Who cares if a phone has 10GB ram if in real world situations its choppy.

You my friend are a spec sheet racer. Who cares what the spec sheet says. Its all about REAL WORLD PERFORMANCE and the 6s will destroy the competition just as the 6 destroyed the competition last year.

Its seems that if someone dropped a 500hp engine in a Kia Rio you would think it is premium because it has more horsepower than a BMW M3.

LOL. The consumer has voted with its cash and the iPhone is the King of all smartphones.

As if the smartphone world is rich and diverse...if you have other Apple products and are invested in their ecosystem, switching to Android isn't really a viable option. Apple is touting their new Live Photos and 4K video, all without providing the storage to adequately use those features.

They provide the option of iCloud storage, which IMO is a nice simple way for non techie folks to back their phones up, simply and easily. You can also store your stuff in Dropbox etc and if you're unsure you can go directly into an Apple Store and get some advice via a workshop (I don't think you have those options with any Android phones).

Also, if your phone dies, Apple will repair/replace in store for you and again, I don't think you can apply that to any other Android phone.

If you think Apple should somehow be immune to criticism, or can do whatever they like so long as they continue profiting, then you really are a shill.

Criticism is fine if it's levelled equally and a lot of these "comparisons" rarely are.

For me, being able to go into a store and get my phone replaced on the spot, use their wifi to restore it and walk out with a fully working phone is a feature I love and I'm prepared to pay more to receive it.

In the UK, if your <insert non Apple handset here> died, you'd go into a Vodafone, EE, etc store and they'd offer to send it away for a repair, where it invariably goes to some cheap and nasty repair centre who often send it back 10 working days later with a "no fault found" label and you'd be phone less (unless you'd taken out one of the extortionate "insurances" that they offer, in which case you'd probably get whatever they had under the counter at the time.

People (like me) understand that everything in business has a value attached to it, along with an increased cost.

Could I afford to be without my <non Apple phone> for any period of time? No, I'm self employed and it's a lifeline to my business, so I'm happy to pay for what I consider to be a premium product (and I don't just mean the physical iPhone) and be able to live my life & run my business, safe in the knowledge that my phone and its contents are safe.

Even the staunchest Apple supporters here are calling you out man. Time to hang it up. Go make love to your iphone and call it a day.

I lived in Texas for a while and my friend there told me Texas is the best place on earth to live. I asked him where else he had lived. He said.... why would I need to go anywhere else? I just told you Texas is the best place to live on earth.

Okay man. My bad.

Android has premium devices. My point is the iPhone is the top end KING. Just like Merc Benz and BWM is the top end luxury. Infiniti/Lexus/Acura are luxury brands but not top end.

Apple - top end
Samsung - high end

No they won't.

Why didn't the $450 iPhone5c with 8GB sell last year?
It sold just fine, just had to compete with the 5s. Make it just the same latest model and offer 8 GB or go back to 512 MB of RAM and people will still be buying it like hot cakes.

I think you mean 720p, and users can easily see the difference between 720 and 1080p on a 4.7" phone when looking up close, so there is still room for improvement. Now 1440p/4K I agree is not necessary like most Android phones.

If you are comparing specs like you seem to be in your car comparison, Android phones clearly are better in every single category compared to iPhones. However, we all know that isn't the truth in real world performance. Storage however isn't something that differs between OS's. 16GB is 16GB, and regardless of Android vs iOS you can still only fit a certain amount of 4k video of 12mp photos.

Apple is the king of marketing.

does not mean that I'm wrong if I have an unpopular opinion on this board.

Like I said the consumer will vote if this lineup is a ripoff or not. And so far with Tim Cook saying the pre-sale is selling faster than last year it sure looks like the consumer is saying the 6s is worth it.

I'm glad you are not running Apple.

Hell, I'm glad you are not running a gas station.

By what absurd logic does "18% of smartphone consumers buy iPhones" translate into "Apple should be able to do whatever it wants without being criticized"? You're the epitome of a shill. You worship and idolize a corporation over the fair treatment of its customers. How is it that the base 6S+ retails for nearly the same as the iPad Pro, yet has much less horsepower, half the RAM, half the storage, like a fraction of the screen real estate and resolution, a quarter of the speakers...

I don't understand how anyone can correlate sales with quality. More people live in council houses than houses worth over £1,000,000.

Does that make council houses better?

A lot of people buy VW Passats even though the Ford Mondeo is widely regarded as the superior car.

People spend loads of money in fancy restaurants but more often than not you get a better meal somewhere cheaper.

A lot of people spend loads of money on Coffee from starbucks. Are they the best coffees?

You can put syrup on poop but that doesn't make it pancakes! Bottom line: in 2015, 16GB of storage is not enough and not acceptable. 32GB should be the standard and honestly maybe 64GB should be considered.

When folks are struggling to do iOS upgrades and the company has to re-manufacture software to make it work, clearly there is a problem. I'm a huge Apple fan but they are completely wrong on this.
