humm...i wonder how long it will take me to come up with 20 interesting points??

1. I have 10 GCSE's (all A's and A*'s) and 5 A Levels
2. I hate my degree at the moment (PPE)
3. I only have half a brain (honest)
4. I passed my driving test within 7 weeks of my 17th birthday
5. I drive a yellow lupo (see avatar)
6. I have been going out with my girlfriend for over 3 years now (and i'm only 19)
7. I really want to learn how to programme and write HTML but am too lazy
8. I stayed in the same hotel as Michael Aspel whilst on holiday the other year (he has a huge head and a tiny scrawny body!)
9. I want to get into investment banking but not one will give me a summer internship :(
10. My favourite food is pancakes
11. I sold my first thing on eBay this morning
12. I am the chairman of the University of York Conservative Association
13. I am actually quite good at snooker and pool and play them for my college
14. My girlfriend is Russian and i have never kissed an english person
15. I'm 1/16th French (eeugh!)
16. I hate French, i suck at it (i have no idea how i managed to get an A at gcse in it though), infact i hate all languages
17. I have a cat called Pudding - so called as she was the largest of the litter and she is huge now

12. I find Intelligent Design insulting and offensive. Despite your views, The Selfish Gene by Dawkins is a book that must be read. To experience a brilliant mind in action is inspiring.
13. I think most groups that bleat about equality seem to want to be more equal than everybody else.
14. I believe that if you work for Microsoft then you are a bad person.
15. I’m a published author.
16. I once drank two bottles of bundaberg rum straight in one evening, plus some other things. I have no memory of the next 3 days after that. They are lost forever.
17. I swear too much. Far too much.
18. I only run when chased. I’m also overweight.
19. I’ve written operating system code and commercial software used by hundreds of thousands. I’ve not programmed for nearly 10 years now - although I’m learning Objective C and Cocoa as a hobby.
20. My favourite football teams: AFL - Collingwood, EPL - Newcastle United, Serie A - Juventus (spot the pattern). American football (NFL) should be called American handball. You move the ball by hand and only move it by foot when something’s gone wrong.

hmmm - a bit of a black and white stripes fan?! Ooh rivalry 'cause...

1) I support Middlesbrough Football Club!
2) I'm left handed but I do double handed sports (cricket, tennis, hockey) right handed and I can and do swap hands when playing single handedly - great fun!:D
3) I'm (wait for it) 1/2 Indian, 1/4 Scottish, 1/4 English but...
4) I was born on the Isle of Man, meaning I could play representative sport for England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Island and India.
5) I'm double jointed on both hands.
6) I've only ever had a Mac at home - we've also had a really old Amstrad (but that doesn't count!;) )
7) I've only ever been on a plane for one return journey (to Greece). But I have gone by ferry to France 7 times.
8) I can swing dance.
9) I actually own a white silk scarf and white cotton gloves for use at balls.
10) I currently have over 7 days of music on my computer, all of which I "own"
11) I play rugby union, and my preferred position is outside flanker.
12) I am a deist (as in I believe in a God but he doesn't do anything)
13) I tend to vote Labour but I dunno this year - big fan of the EU, and the Lib Dems seem more in favour of it.
14) My favourite film of last year was actually "Shaun of the Dead"
15) I currently live near Liverpool
16) My birthday is the exact same as the Liverpool septuplets.
17) I am heterosexual but someone once thought I was gay because of my penchance for using interesting English words and my choice in ball wear (see 9!). Good to see stereotypes still remain...
18) I actually really enjoy Formula 1 racing (most of my posts for this forum seem to be on the subject and started by iGav - a link?) and like watching Giancarlo Fisichella and Jensen Button.
19) People tend to think that my eyes are my best physical feature. I tend to agree - very dark brown (almost black eyes) and long (for a bloke) eyelashes.
20) My favourite food is Brie cheese.
 
1. I was able to turn on a computer and use it reasonably well at 18 months.
2. I could launch a program, and use DOS well at around 4 years old. I prefered DOS to windows.
3. At this time, I became the administator of all things computers for my family.
4. I first logged onto the internet when I was 5 or 6.
5. By the time I finished the 1st grade (School in Victoria starts with a special year called Prep, followed by 12 years of hell. The last two are VCE, adn may be replaced with TAFE if prefered.), I had asperger's syndrome (autisim).
6. By the time I finished the 4th grade I had severe OCD.
7. Last year was the worst of my life (Had a nervous breakdown, pretty much dropped out of school, although I am technically still a student there, almost got put in a Mental care facility, almost got drugged up on depression medication, etc... But I didn't, I got out of it ok.)
8. I have a fear of germs, bugs, spiders, dogs and cats.
9. We have three dogs. One ignores me, one is scared of me, and one is kinda neutral.
10. I am a vegetarian. This includes not eating fish (my mother is a vegetarian, yet she eats fish), but I still eat milk and eggs.
11. I first used a mac at Primary school.
12. My primary school had at least four macs in every classroom (OH HELL YEAH!)
13. I memorised every teacher's password (actully, there was a pattern. I was one of about three students to figure it out.)
14. I won a gold plated medal in the 3rd grade, because I was top of the country in the science test.
15. I am easily distracted. I don't work well.
16. I prefer the company of no one. I'm straight, but am not interested in love. I have had my life ****ed around with too many times to trust anouther person to love me.
17. The only alcohol I've ever drunk was a weak gin and tonic (which I didn't like), and a sip of beer (which I hated).
18. I'm partly irish on my father's side (and on my mothers. Best bit is: The two irish familes that are in my hereitage hated each other back in the day.)
19. Although I am Australian, I have a heavy british accent. I've never been to England.
20. I have the longest hair of anyone I know (I think it's been around two years since I had a haircut).
21. My room is quite messy. Everything else about my life is perfectly organised. I help keep everywhere in the house, except my room, clean.
22. I believe in god, and that there is a heaven and hell. I don't think that god is here anymore. I think he has pissed off, and gone to watch over anouther world.
23. I've never read the bible, and don't really follow any religion, apart from the god/heaven/hell stuff.
24. I am quite obsessive about correct language. I go libarian-poo (Discworld joke. Only some will get it) at anyone who uses shorthand, or forgets proper grammar and punctuation. Spelling isn't that much of a problem for me, as long as people can understand what word I mean, and what word they mean.
25. I hate SMS. I hate custom ringtones. I hate camera phones. I think they are stupid, and are a plague on society.
26. I'm a Nintendo fanboy, even though I own all three current gen systems, and play them all equaly.
27. I accept that I annoy people on GameFAQs (a "troll" according to GFAQs speak), and I love it!
28. I think I may be a bit dyslexic. I misinterpret things a little bit sometimes.
29. I think fashion is stupid (I wear plain shirts, plain pants, etc...)
30. I don't go to "parties", and have never been to one. I'm just not interested. However, I would go to a LAN party, if I had a laptop powerful enough to take to them.
31. I have an incredible immune system. I hardly ever get sick.
32. I don't eat a wide variety of food, and my physical statue should mean that I am unhealthy and diabetic. But I'm in perfect physical health, apart from my weight.
33. I don't mind excesice and such, but can't be stuffed doing any.
34. I don't really care about my teeth, but I am planning to do something about that soon.
35. There are certain swear words I just can't bring myself to say.
36. I read often.
37. I play video games even more.
38. I don't watch that much TV.
39. My favorite show used to be The Last of the Summer Wine, but then it just because... complete crap. The new series's jokes just wern't funny.
40. My favorite show is now Dad's Army (which has always been in my top 10 anyway)
41. I don't really have a top 10, I just have a few favorite shows.
42. I hate sport.
43. I hate horror films and books.
44. I really hate books by Robin Cook, and filmes based on those books.
45. I have an addiction to Pringles. Light. Original flavor.
46. I can't stand normal pringles, or any other flavor or pringles.
47. I also can't stand other flavors of other brands of crisps.
48. I only like chocolate and vanilla ice cream.
49. Favorite snack: Vegemite Sandwich (don't forget the margarine).
50. I prefer low fat foods.
51. I like chess, apart from the fact I am bad at it.
52. I sometimes get a little peckish for cheese.
53. I once made a bowl of choc-chip cookie mix, and instead of making cookies, just decided to eat the mix. It didn't play well of my stomache.
54. When bored, I tend to rewatch the behind the scenes discs from the three Lord of the Rings films.
55. My favorite film is the Blues Brothers
56. I don't really have a favorite music group. I like Rock, a little metal, etc...
57. My favorite music overall, is that from games by SquareEnix. I like Nobuo Uematsu's music the most.
58. I tend to go overboard. Once I start on something, it's hard for me to stop. I break the limits (this is a good example).
59. My favorite author is Terry Pratchett.
60. I really like the discworld books. My favorite is Thief of Time.
61. I prefer a wood finish on everything, compared to the crappy modern finish on everything.
62. I hate leather.
63. Our family has lots of books (my dad built a full wall sized bookcase. It's around 3x4 meters. It's overflowing with books.), but we are adaept at finding specific books.
64. I'm a little scared of the dark.
65. I set up "the pipe system" in our house. Basically a network of AV cables under the floor and between the walls, linking our PayTV box to as many TVs in our house as possible.
66. I have a fear of heights.
67. I first used Mac OS X at school, in the Teacher Devopment center (which had the latest possible Macs in it, in primary school.
68. I was called out by teachers all over the school, who would send runners to my classroom, asking for my assistance with various computer problems, in primary school
69. I once got an after-school detention (one step below suspension), which ended up with me going to homework-club instead. There, two hot girls flirted with me the whole time. BEST DETENTION EVER! (It is pure coincedence about the number there.)
70. My best friend of the 3rd grade is now my worst enemy.
71. When I was really young, I got lost at a fair. I found my parents again, with the help of some adults eventully.
72. I am contantly ticked off by the fact that Australia uses PAL instead of NTSC.
73. I hate region codes.
74. I love to go on and on about various topics, to people that don't understand them.
75. I hate piracy.
76. I hate drugs.
77. I hate doing anything dangerous.
78. I don't get outside enough. I should change that. I need a haircut first.
79. I once ate 50 "Vita-minis", childrens vitamin tablets. There was no negetive effect, and they taste great!
80. I found that when I take a vita-mini, or drink a glass of milk within around 1/2 hour of going to sleep, sometimes longer, I'll defiantly have a dream.
81. This is my longest post ever on a forum.

93. When I was little, I hit my brother over the head with a golf club. I was too young to remember.

105. At the time of this posting, I was listening to "Time of the Dreamwatch" from the game Chrono Cross, by SquareEnix. This song was composed by Yasunori Mitsuda. My second favorite composer to Nobuo Uematsu.
106. The light lighting up this room, is a three-bulb light, with an odd design. It is on the ceiling. One bulb is broken, leaving 1/3 of the room in darkness.

hmm lets see...

1. I realize after reading these that I am below the average age on these forums.
2. I have worked the past 3 years at a job that I love and hope to take as a career
3. My car has 269,000 miles on it. Everthing original, even the clutch I believe, and yes, it's a Toyota.
4. Like many others on here I would love to own a Mini Cooper S. I priced one out with all the options. Ever seen a $40,000 USD Mini?
5. Along with my mini I want a Yamaha YZF R1. Those are just some the most smokin bikes I've ever seen.
6. I believe Eminem is one of the most talented songwriters out there. His lyrics fit together so well, and he sings about his life and trouble, not how many hoes he got with last night.
7. I love ATHF. That is one of the most amazing cartoons I have ever seen.
8. St. Louis is not as boring as everyone thinks it is.
9. If #8 is false, I don't care, I can't leave the Cardinals, they are the true love of my life.
10. I don't quite understand underwear. It is so uncomfortable, and just another article to wash. I swore it off about a year ago and haven't looked back.
11. #10 is not gross.
12. I'm running up about 3 years without shaving off the goatee. Shaving it would make me look about 13 years old. Keeping it makes me look 22. I'm actually just shy of 20, so I think I'll keep it.
13. I don't think there is anything unlucky about this number.
14. I have been parasailing, it was absolutely incredible.
15. I think that I spend a lot of time here, but compared to everyone else, I don't. This site however ranks right up there with ESPN in sites that I visit most.
16. 2 years after quitting working at a movie theater, I still see free movies because I still know people. Actually I have seen more freebies since I quit. What was I doing all that time?
17. Jim Carrey is my favorite actor. Back in the day when he still did comedies, he couldn't be beat. Bumble-bee-tuna.
18. I smoked my first cigar this past new years, and it happened to be a Cohiba (a fine cuban cigar). I'm afraid to smoke anymore because its all downhill from there.
19. I'm at work getting paid while I write this.
20. I thought Keira Knightley was good looking, but never thought too hard about it. Then I saw edesign's thread and examined a little more closely. I now realize she is one of the most downright gorgeous women on the planet.

WordPress...much more fun and customisable than blogger. You need your own webspace with PHP and MySQL though.

I found it really surprising that you hadn't posted more than you have, I think it's probably because we bump into one another so much in the F1 threads and thus you seem more active on MR, I thought you were in the 1000's of posts region because you always seem to be around. :)

Used to, for about 8 or so months. I dunno, 2002 perhaps? Whiny, unloved, depressed livejournal teens, who think the rest of the world needs to know just how many drugs they've taken, kinda took the fun out of it.

I'd start one, but again, nobody in their right mind would read it. I have nothing constructive to say :rolleyes:...

1. I can trace my lineage in the US to the 1600's
2. I am a decendent of William Dawes (rode with Paul Revere)
3. My fathers mother came over from Scottland (campbell) in 1904? with little or no history
4. My father was a WestPoint Grad, Many awards in Korea, Silver & Bronze Stars (nominated for Medal of Honor)
5. My dad was a raging drunk, would not quit, died of it when I was 9
6. My mother raised 3 boys (in her fathers basement) while tending to her mom in a nursing home, cooking meals and doing housework for her dad, working all day as a secretary, and going to school at night. She was a honor student at Duke before marring my dad. She got her masters at night school too, and is the strongest person I know!
7. A General, war/west point buddy of my dads, got him in the army again before he died so that he would have something to leave his children. That single act got me through college! I tracked him down in Montana this summer and cried when I thanked him for giving my life a good start. He is in his upper 80's.
8. To get into Chapel Hill, I didn't tell them EVERYTHING!
9. I got a DUI in 1985, almost didn't get into the Navy because of that, In fact I was a commissioned officer on the way to flight training and still didn't have a drivers license!
10. Met my wife on a blind date arranged by my MOM!
11. My 3 daughters middle names are Faith, Hope, and Grace
12. I wish I had a poker/beer buddy to get with during football games
13. I love sushi! very much!
14. I want to go and see a total solar eclipse, do a dive tour of the galopagos, and tour Patagonia
15. I am a terrible passenger on airlines, I hate to fly that way even though I am a pilot. I drive my car to recurrent training instead of flying the airlines.

20.1 My favorite Navy pilot story-I was flying out of Greenland, doing flights over the N Pole to the Russian side, We were flying over an IceCamp doing underwater sound propagation testing. The had a big sign (huge) with lettering so good it looked like it came from Kinko's. it said "WE WANT BEER" in large white letters on a red sign, it was on top of a tent. So I got a bouy pack (3.5ft of pvc pipe) filled it with a six pack of bud, carton of Camel cigs, and 2 playboys. We dropped it over their camp on May 1st (May day). Now this was still during the Cold War, they were our enemy. Well that summer a spook (intel guy) gave me a copy of Pravda, it was the english version and had an article from one of the scientists there at the time. It had his diary published and it mentioned that beer drop very nicely. So, I made Pravda!

To be honest I try and be more active. The F1 posts are basically cause I love the cars - British feats of engineering less Bernie forgets that ;). I just don't post that many in the actual rumour pages - I kind of give my own opinion or try and comment on them. I just don't know about Mac specificities (like design software). I also have a dial-up at home home (I'm a student who lives away from home) so I don't post at home during off-term time. But I'll try - I need a 'tar. :eek: :( No spamming tho'...

This is the best thread idea in a while, kudos IGAV...

mine:
1. I am 1/4 English, 1/4 German, 1/4 Swiss, 1/4 Japanese. (so I am at war with myself - with a neutral mediator hording assets).

2. I love puns.

3. I have never gotten a speeding ticket or moving violation, even though I have been pulled over upwards of 500 times.

4. I once evaded the police in Nebraska in a high-speed chase, carrying a pound of mushrooms, by turning off my lights and cutting through a cornfield. Also, I was once the object of a sting-operation. I got away unscathed and promptly changed my ways.


5. I am hopeless with women romantically, which ironically makes me very attractive to them.

6. I look 20 at 30. I hate it.

7. I have no ambition. Major problem sorta, i just don't really care for money and prefer to dabble in everything. Needless to say, I am a miserable saver. I am also disorganized, with seven junk-drawers...

8. I used to have hair down to my mid-back, semi-dreaded. Now my hair is an inch-long.

9. I have never broken up with a girlfriend un-amicably (ie: I am friends with all my exes)...one of my greatest accomplishments.

10. I have never asked a girl out.

11. On a random trip, I managed to randomly run into three ex-girlfriends and sleep with them all in three different states in the course of a week. (It has been all downhill from there...)

12. I was a triathlete in my teens.

13. I inherit $1 million when I am 41.

14. I have never dated a blonde. I have dated a disproportional amount of redheads.

15. I have never weighed over 160 pounds, despite my best efforts. (I am 5'10" btw) I think I have a tapeworm, since I eat lots.

16. I caused a riot in my highschool (parochial) over Religion. Forced to transfer to public school to graduate.

17. Was high-strung as a youth. Purposely started to smoke pot to combat this. After nearly 10 years, I quit. No longer high-strung.

18. Scored a perfect on my ACT's (midwest). Not as good with SAT's (1390). When I moved to US at 12, was supposed to be placed in 11th grade. Luckily, I wasn't. Went on to be fabulously unsuccessful.

19. Have never owned a car newer than 1985 on purpose. Prefer the simplicity.

20. I am shy. I like people, but are often dissapointed by them. I blame pop culture.
 
I'm 1/1 German. My mother's ancestors have been residents of my village since 1742.

I've lived in the same house for 36 years. I'll move in September.

I don't care a bit about nations. I do care about culture though.

Come to think of it, some nations concern me. Some nations want to reconsider their public conduct.

I've been making my living playing the piano since I was 15. After 12 yrs. of job experience I joined Musical College, only to get thrown out after 18 months because of being immusical ("earless").

This scared me so much I immediately signed a contract to conduct several musical play productions, including "Cabaret" and "Jesus Christ Superstar".

I have a tendency to buy a new Mac whenever one comes out, wether I can afford it or not.

I owned a CD burner when CD-Rs were $20, and Astarte Toast software would lock your computer while burning.

I should exercise more.

I just bought an appartment for $260,000.

I love cooking and gardening. My parents are professional gardeners.

I prefer cars with a diesel engine.

I often use my bicycle to go to work.

I usually never tell a lie because it's unethical.

I make a little money buying things off ebay.com and selling them on ebay.de. This is my hobby.

I work part-time as a private piano teacher, and twice a year some student tells me she's fallen in love with me. (Talk about serving a cliché.) I consider this normal.

I made several appearances on German TV soap operas, without having an acting background. That was fun, and handsomely paid, too. Once I had to lip-sync myself in post prod. because they goofed with the audio track.

I like Americans but they often make me shake my head in disbelief.

I love going to France on vacation. I love the language, the people, the food. I only live 1 hr from the French border (5 hrs. from Paris), so I sometimes go there shopping.

Last year I've worked in Italy for two months, in a language enclave in South Tyrol. German language, Italian weather, Italian women and Italian food. Why not move to Bolzano?
