i think versus feed will be blocked out because you get MSG..at least in boston when the B's/Habs game was on VS. it was blocked out and only NESN carried the game.

Looks like it's plan B for the Leafs. Burkey is staying with the Ducks at least until the end of the 08-09 season.
So one of two things is going to happen:
1. The Leafs will stand pat and wait for Burke's contract to expire, and hire him for 09-10. Cliff Fletcher has a 19 month contract with the Leafs that takes him through the end of next season, probably in anticipation of this happening.
2. They'll hire someone else in the next month or so, so someone will be in place for June.
This all adds up to another year lost for the Leafs. Crap and a half.

I don't think the VS. feed of the Rangers games will be blocked out for people in the MSG market because the other game of the night is a western game which will be on at 10. So there won't be conflicting times. Occasionally Rangers playoff games will be on both VS and MSG at the same time. Actually, I think one of the games in the last series was on MSG, MSG+, and VS at the same time lol.
Ditty, funny thing about VS HD is that it's actually a golf channel. Assuming you have Cablevision, channel 719 is VSGLF, Versus gold in Hd lol. They don't play w/e VS is playing in HD, they play golf all day long in HD lol. However they broadcast all the hockey games in HD.. poor HD might I add.
Closing words for this post: Sharks win game 7, move on to semifinals (bye Flames) I know I said Sharks win the cup if they beat the Flames, but I may retract that statement lol.

We might get the feed, but I doubt it. It'll most likely be on Versus. None of the games interfere with one another. Different days and times.
Actually it's 2 channels in one. It's Versus HD and Golf HD. Thus the name VSGLF. Cablevision is playing it smart, why have 2 channels when one will accomplish the same thing because nobody watches hockey or golf.
The Sharks are playing Dallas. That's not exactly an easy out, if anything Dallas could knock them out. (That's my prediction). The Sharks have looked a bit shakey. If JR puts up stats like he did in Game 7 every night or something close to that, we might have a completely different series.
Hey I watch hockey and golf. Just not at the same time. And I only watch some of the majors saturday/sunday action if it looks to be a good finish, and then only on the big networks. But I would give it a 98.5 to 1.5% hockey to golf ratio. Maybe 99.5 to .5.

Let's see. They give 45 min of an hour sportscenter to doing highlights of umpteen NBA, NCAA BBall, and MLB games. That is all they care about and have ever cared about, even when they carried the NHL postseason. Their NHL coverage has always been crap.
It's both. Hockey is even easier to follow (puck wise) since the incarnation of HDTV. The game also seems to move faster (thus a better flow) which would help the casual viewer.
In my mind, there should be no excuses.
I'm not doubting it was crap, I'm saying if it was back on ESPN and they had Tuesday night hockey (I forget what it was) at least it would reach more homes. As of right now we have Versus. Whoop de friggin do.

Right, I've actually seen the Golf HD logo on screen while watching something on that channel. For a while though, we didn't have any of the VS HD feed at all.
