OT, baby.

How did the Habs let a 2 goal lead disappear in the 3rd? Inexcusable. That's called inexperience.

Scores!

3-2 Montreal in OT. They lead the series 2-0.

Wow, I didn't know that they gave the "C" to Kovalev while Koivu is out. That's a complete turnaround for him since last season with that team. He and Guy Carbonneau did not get along at all.

So far today the Flyers whooped on on the Caps :( and it looks like it was a pretty boring game, 2-0 both goals were in the first period (Umberger and Carter) Now the series is tied 1-1, any predictions? I still feel as though the Caps will wake up and win from here on out. (I have them winning in 7, because I thought it would be a close series :p)

Sharks and Flames play at 10 eastern

Devils and Rangers at 7 est

Habs and Bruins at 7 est

Whoa looks like I missed a lot of discussion on the man in my avatar. haha kids

I still have the Caps advancing to the 2nd round, and I honestly think they will.

Perhaps the Devils can, ya know, win a game... that would make me happy.

The Bruins will lose the series no doubt, but I still think they're gonna steal a game.

Ducks have been getting PWNED by the Stars, as expected. :D

haha I like the Ducks (sans Pronger) After Dallas lost Smith, I wasn't sure they were even going to make it to the playoffs...but then again I never really paid much attention to the Stars.

:D

Another close series is gonna be the Avs/Wild. I picked the Wild to advance, they are a sleeper team. (No, I don't think they're gonna win the cup). The Wild can be considered a cinderella a la college hoops.

I like the Stars. Getting Brad Richards was one of the best deals during the Trade Deadline.

Speaking of trade deadline, how about the Caps getting Price?!??! That was a shocker of a deal and it's paying absolute dividends for the Caps (well, except for today).

i agree. a win like that helps improve that inexperience.

les habitants didn't deserve to win, but oh boy, they had 2 breakaways, and 2 posts...the last coming with .1 seconds left. poor boston.

oh..there...don't feel so sorry for boston anymore.

chara is definitely hurt. he's not playing as mean as he can, plus i saw him flexing his arm (supposedly for his shoulder).

GO HABS GO!

PS. anyone hear how the leafs' golf scores are doing??? :)

Really you made it?!? Thanks so much for making it! Ever since i started using Adium I always wanted a rangers theme one.

Yeah man, no problem, thanks for sporting it. Small world right? Haha. I had wanted one also and there wasn't one yet, so I figured I'd make one lol.

I can't wait for flames sharks tonight. I'm going back to school late to catch some of it lol.

Anybody watching the Rangers game see Avery check Brodeur into the boards? Haha lol it was great.

Sean Avery is the man.

That is the be all end all.

I respectfully disagree.

He wasn't playing hockey, he was playing games. Waving his stick in front of Marty and taunting him. Sit down, shut the f**k up and play hockey.

There's a difference between screening a goalie and just being a complete and total worthless douche bag.

I have no respect for Avery.

EDIT: 3-2 Devils baby!!!!!!!!!!

:D 2 PP Goals!!!

To be honest I thought it was hilarious. It's not against the rules. Why not? The more you can distract a goalie and get into his head the better. Was it childish? Yes. But it was smart as well.

I'll say it again, that is not hockey. Childish doesn't even begin to describe what he did. Though it wasn't against the rules the referee went over to him twice and said whatever it was he said (probably along the lines of stop doing that and play hockey). This is the playoffs, not f**king amateur hour. Act like a goddamn professional.

I'm all for distracting the goalie, but not like that.

If I was Marty I would've shoved the stick up his f**king ass, but he probably would've like that anyway.

EDIT: Even Chris Drury said something to Avery when he was doing that!!!! What further proof do you need that he wasn't playing hockey? Avery = fail.

You really hate the Rangers don't you lol? Let's just agree to disagree.

Me and my buddies loved it, but we're Rangers fans so we're probably going to be SOMEWHAT biased lol.

You're totally biased. :p

I am a bit too. That doesn't take away from the fact that what he did was totally bush league.

Late EDIT:

Does anyone know where I can buy an NJ Devils Jersey from the '91-'92 season? It would be the jersey with the green instead of black. :D

Here's a pic

wrong.

it is against the rules.

if you watched CBC tonight (not sure if you received the feed), Ron MacLean, also a ref, clearly pointed out that it's not allowed. It's punishable by a 10 min misconduct for the player involved.

I get that Avery brings grit and feistiness to bring the best players off their game, but that was low and cheap. As good as I think that can be be, it shows a severe lack of skill when you lower yourself to that level.

I thought it was great how Brodeur ignored him and how the other Ranger player skated over to say something to Avery and then skated back.

That....says alot right there.

But I'm a Habs fan so I'm not to happy with the result tonight. I must admit that I'm ' ok ' with it. Sure, a 3-0 series lead would be nice, but I also am very interested in seeing how this young Habs team rebounds against some challenge. Boston has played well the last 2 games so we'll see if Les Habitants come out better in game 4.

Cheers,
Keebler

Fleury did this in game one. I forget who it was, but he was being an ass infront of the goal tender, so Fleury gave the guy a shot between the legs right before play ended, and the guy tried to fight him.

Bad news for him if I remember right was that he went after the goalie after the whistle blew. I believe we took a penalty too though so it all evened out. I wish I could find a video, it was hilarious.

Where I live we don't get CBC, I think it's only in Canada. We did have it on Versus but we were watching the local on MSG. To be honest I thought it might have been unsportsmanlike, but they didn't make a bad ordeal out of it on MSG. They were actually praising it so I figured it was legal. Nevertheless I loved it and thought it was hysterical. Plus as previously stated in this thread, I hate Marty. I've hated him since the Richter days when I started watching and playing hockey.

As far as low and cheap goes, well you have to understand that Avery and Marty have a little bit of a history with each other. He's done some low things to Avery as well. They go at each other, so it's pretty even IMO. It's all part of a rivalry, and rivalries are never perfectly clean lol.

Brodeur did push Avery, so he wasn't quite ignoring him, and to be honest I think it threw him off enough for Avery to score that goal.

Also I didn't see Dru talk to him, or the ref for that matter, but I was preoccupied with homework tonight, so I very well could have missed that.

Did anyone catch the Calgary/San Jose game? I actually forgot to watch it lol. I hate that we don't get Versus at school, I can only watch non local series' on the weekend.

Thank you. It was a classless play.
