Mueller, lucas and klose are mediocre strikers at best. People thinking they are talented players boggle my mind. The fact still remains that Germany hasn't met a single decent organized team in this tournament. Heck, there isn't till now one single match in this world cup that is worth talking about. Poor refereeing, the lack of a true black horse team...etc etc.

Too true:

though this world cup turned out to be a disaster for the 'talented' superstars
Rooney had his second world cup without a single goal
Messi: very important in argentinas attacking .. still only a single assist
Ronaldo: a goal against a north koreaen team falling apart
Kaka: did he get an assist or goal ? i honestly can't remember anything from him
Ribery: got the assist on the french goal in their last game
Torres: hideous performance so far
Van Persie: equally collosal waste
Drogba: had 3 scenes in total
Etoo: the same

the only superstars who turned up seems to be: Villa:shooting spain into the semi finals pretty much alone (5 out of 6 goals), Suarez, Forlan and Sneijder

So basically you are saying, that the german team sucks
and that they are only that good, because all the other teams with their superstars suck even more? And that the games of Germany overall were boring and not worth talking about? Especially since England and Argentina really got slapped in their faces with 4 goals each? Yeah, that's really not worth talking about!

Brilliant logic...

But it's OK. You don't like the Germans... we got your point.

Paul the Octopus has spoken. Auf Wiedersehen Deutschland :)

Oh dear! I see Pulpo a la Gallega (Google it) may be on the menu then :)

In other exciting news, fear not England fans, Steven Gerrard has decided he's not going to retire from international football and will 'fight' for his place. Of course, should he feel 'threatened' we know what kind of fighting may occur ;)

It seems Jamie Carragher has also retired (again) from international football. Probably in a similar way to Dunga resigning as Brazil manager

One can only hope that this news doesn't filter through to the German camp, it could be very demoralising in the build up to their match tomorrow.

The news about Paul der Octopus, I mean. They're probably less fussed about Stevie der G.

that depends though: 2008 the octopus predicted a german win in the german vs spain game... and was wrong ;)

true that . .seriously though gerrad should have just kept his mouth shut and actually did the fighting .. with anouncing it beforehand he is jsut set up for dissapointment

he should have just looked at Ballack who went back to Bayer Leverkusen, his break-out club, without any chance to play in the UEFA/CL next season and very likely the same the season after, and deciding against salary offers 4 time the size just for the fact that the next 2 season the can be playing to perhaps get that last chance at EURO 2012

IMHO gerrard should have taken a chance to leave the EPL a few years ago.. it would have turned him into a much better player.. the same "we are the best because we are in the EPL" attitude, which ruined him has ruined Ballack

You're either; 1) A bitter English fan that got trumped by the German team. (and/or) 2) An fanboy of the overrated players in the world cup such as Messi, the world's "best" player doing absolutely nothing. when in fact Müller, Klose and Podolski are top notch players. Klose is one goal off from tying most goals scored in World Cup overall, you can't deny that.

To be fair to Gerrard, he's already at his 'break out' club with no chance of playing in the Champions League next season and very likely the season after. :D

Hoping for the same consistency this time. :D

Although I've been a fan of the German national team for a long time (when they were still West Germany), I haven't watched many of the players at club level unless they were in the Premier League (like Klinsmann). I think this next year I'll be watching a bit of Bundesliga. My natural affinity would be with FC Köln since I lived there once upon a time. Why not? Arsenal are going to bring another year of heartache...

and honestly you are not going to regret it .. the amazing thing about the bundesliga is that while Bayern is very often on top of the league it is actually nearly always close (this year it was 3 points at the end of season) and after the first place there are perhaps 7-8 clubs actually fighting for those european tournament spots.. it's not like in the premier league with it's top 4 or la liga with real and barca absolutley dominating

and who could forgot how schalke was champion for 2 minutes until Bayern scored in the 93. minute through an indirect freekick from within the penalty box
and over the last few years the playing level has increased massively

I did see that. Depending on how much they will charge for it, this might be worth it.

I thought that ESPN 3 was just an extension of ESPN. I'm not sure if there are charges for it. In fact, I thought it was like ESPN 360, which is/was dependent on your ISP. My ISP subscribes to ESPN 360 so hopefully no extra charges!

Edit: I'm right. ESPN 3 is ESPN 360 and is provider dependent: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ESPN3

ESPN3 is ESPN360, they renamed it.

I wonder if Forlan has had the most free kicks on target out of anyone in this tournament. He really seems to make the keeper work each time. Either from a save or picking it out of the net :D
