I've been on holiday for a couple of weeks, managed to stay off the Internets and avoid all news... (I expected Celtic to win the league and Rangers to keep bumbling along in receivership) but somewhere in the Magic Kingdom the fairytale news was passed around... it's a Hibs v Hearts Scottish Cup Final.

Hibs last won the trophy 110 years ago and have been in 8 finals since but never to win and it's been a chain around their neck, mentioned frequently in the press so it will be interesting to see if they break one of the longest ducks in football.

I might have my dates wrong, but it seems like he was only charged a couple weeks ago. That's a speedy trial.

Cleveland area native, Ex-Cavalier, basketball superstar (who abandoned his home town in a theatrical manner to go play for Miami, where he's won nothing) and part Liverpool owner LeBron James has apparently partnered with Nike to release a pair of Liverpool-themed trainers...but they made a few emabrrassing goofs, like using Premier League trophies to represent First Division title wins and putting a Liver bird on the heel that doesn't really look like a Liver bird.

I know 'real' Liverpool fans are a prickly group, but it is a rather silly effort. Some fans seem overly upset over it though. I found the 2010 Adidas AdiStreet Liverpool shoes to be a much more tasteful effort, even if the colors are non-traditional. I swooped up a pair a while back. They also have the Champions League logo on them, reminding me of the good old days.

I was at Hampden. Celtic fans were quiet pretty much the whole game until they scored in the last few minutes. Beattie was pretty honest and said it was never a penalty, but their goal was offside!

Looking forward to the final, though I don't have enough loyalty points to get a ticket, and there probably won't be any left when the public sale starts.

Bah i give up. RVP not incisive, Ramsey shocking again, Diaby not match fit, sloppy passing all round. Topped with fresh injuries.

EDIT: Hope Stoke and QPR do us a favour.

EDIT2: Never mind

nPower Championship Winners 2011/12 - Reading

:D

Feel sorry for Southampton though. Been top two all season, and probably deserve the title. Still, I'm not complaining! Hope they go up as 2nd though and WHU stay down.

Congrats to Reading & cambookpro! :D

The Spurs-QPR match looked pretty flat, Tottenham are trailing off badly at the moment. It's funny for me though - when Liverpool lost to both QPR and Wigan Dalglish & Co. got roasted, but now a few other teams are looking a little bruised after facing those same sides.

Watching Napoli vs Novara and the referee had to go off with a shoulder injury after just 33 seconds. They warmed up another ref but the original one came back on after a good 5 minutes. Strange scenes in Italy.

Columbus 2-2 Houston.

Our midfield played better this week, but our defense and forwards let us down...our numbers have been looking gradually worse every season since 2009, the natives are getting restless. We are now 2-3-1, with one of those 3 losses coming at home.

I dunno whether he wanted another 45mins. The Ref was already arguably generous with his 5mins of ET.

Meanwhile, at Old Trafford...

That is the most wonderful photo. :D

Terry Connor's face is the definition of 'stunned'. You have to feel for the guy. Condolences to Wolves fans.

As for Liverpool...we didn't concede four goals today. But these days it only takes one goal to beat us. I'm not sure we're playing that badly overall, though we are clearly not good enough. But our inability to score goals is as obvious as it is severe. This must be addressed by next season. A meaningless match, unfortunately.

Hush, Rafael's sleeping. That's the defence I know and love; takes me back to the Champions League, so it does.

Ferguson :( At 70 minutes and 4-2 up, you have a back from injury winger and a 37 year old who are done for the day. The defence is having a bad game. You could take Nani and Scholes off, put Welbeck wide and throw on two midfielders - maybe one sitting in front of the back four, or you could just sit there!

At least old boy Ronaldo did the business.

Spurs - since the tax trial, Redknapp has had too much time to think.

Cheers,
OW

West Ham have just beaten Leicester City, meaning that neither the Foxes or their equally massive fellow footballing behemoths Leeds United will be finishing above little insignificant us this season.

That's all I'm saying on the matter, save for 'Heh'. :D
