Leafs are still undefeated! In fairness, they haven't played since Saturday:p

what are they drinking in TO these days???

I missed coach's corner tonight-based on my twitter stream, am I to understand that the Donald actually apologized for something he said ?

I guess Al Gore was right...
hell may be freeze over

EDIT-found it on Puck Daddy-Like someone mentioned there, this sounded like something that CBC legal made him say and do and made sure it was genuine.

I've heard Cherry talk about this during the week, and I think that his apology was sincere.

Great game for the Leafs last night! We had a slow start and went down 2-0 in the first, but I pretty much expected that after having an entire week off. A solid effort gave us the 3-2 win. Kessel scored another couple of goals, so now he's got 5 after 3 games, and is a +7. Reimer played well, and made some big saves.

3 and 0 baby :D

Yeah, gloat gloat gloat!! B's managed a shootout "win" last night. Patrick Kane on CHI is an animal.

3 home games for me this week -
- Rematch Carolina Tuesday
- End Leafs winning streak Thursday
- Sharks Saturday

;)

the way we are playing, your saturday game will be a chip-shot.

I really, really want to hit the reset button-this team is no different than the team that started last year like crap and finished like crap-effortless, no consistency, sloppy and out of sync.

Is it too early to be panicking-yes. But we were told that over and over at camp that we won't repeat our early season of last year this year and so far thats exactly what we are doing.

Flyers West beat Flyers East last night 3-2 in OT. Mike Richards gets a standing O when he first comes out  And then booed after that:p Welcome back;) He did get an assist on the game winner. A little payback...

@surely-

any idea when the last time the leafs were on US national TV?

Better question-how many people (watching that is) know where Toronto is on a map

I honestly can't remember. I was pretty shocked that it was on Versus.

I just finished watching the game now (DVRed it). Good comeback effort by the Leafs, too bad we lost in OT. At least we got a point out of it.

Heading to the B's / 'Canes in 2 hours -- hopefully the B's can keep some of the energy from the game against Chicago...

I forgot to mention how impressed I was with the Avalanche's speed during the game yesterday. Those guys can skate.

I was impressed with how pathetic we looked.

We looked so pathetic we made the District 5 Mighty ducks look good.

And that is before Fulton Reed and Adam Banks!

The Flyers finally win a game in Ottawa after four years:eek: But it was the Sens:rolleyes: You got'a love the young guys:cool: Next up the 4-0 Caps;)
Bring it...:D;)

Peace

Ok, despite the fact that my boys cannot seem to win anything I am very happy about the email that I got this morning from the Bruins. My guess is that this has been scheduled for a while since I can't imagine that they actually want to talk to the fans right now...

Im watching the Leafs/Jets game and man, Toronto has the best jerseys ever. They are beautiful.

Yeah they are.:D

Not sure if you saw my post earlier in the thread showing off our new throwback jersey:

Another win for the Leafs! Kessel scored again, Lupul scored a pair, and we won it in the shootout after coming back from a 3-1 deficit.

I love how this page looks: http://www.nhl.com/ice/statshome.htm#?navid=nav-sts-league

Go Leafs Go!

Game tonight -> confidence = low.

pretty much :(

i do like the leafs, but man do the bruins need this tonight.

Well, maybe I just need to lower my expectations. It was a like a different team last night and the Leafs didn't do themselves any favors late. Both teams looked good for different parts of the game. Thankfully Kessel either didn't "show" or was shut down and they didn't play Reimer.

This is just Karma getting Surely back for making fun of me earlier.

I just don't think that the Leafs had any gas left in the tank after their emotional win against the Jets the night before. They just didn't look as good as they have in all of their previous regular season games.

Karma really is a bitch I guess.;)

I hated the Thornton Orr drop-the-gloves-when-the-puck-drops fight. I think that these types of circus fights need to be removed from the Game.

Face it. With the bloated number of teams, there are more thugs than skilled players available.

The game has been stolen by greed.

I don't completely understand it either. I'm not entirely sure why they just don't play and if something comes up then go to battle. Clearly there was some sort of bad blood. In the post game interviews they were saying about how "they knew this was coming based on the roster" or some crap.. who knows.

I don't agree with that. There are plenty of skilled players that can step up to the NHL. The problem is that teams seem to think that they need to have a fighter/thug on their rosters, so they save a spot or two for them.

The game has been stolen by greed.

That's happened long ago.....

I don't think that there's bad blood. The reason "they knew this was coming based on the roster", is because Boston (usually) plays a tough game, and so the Leafs put Orr and Rosehill in the lineup to try to neutralize them. When those two guys are in the lineup, they knew a circus fight or two would happen.

The reason these drop-the-gloves-when-the-puck-drops fights happen is because these fighters that only play a few minutes per game need to justify their existence in the NHL. They're making big money and want to keep it that way. They think that these fights somehow charge up the other players on their team....but I really wonder how much of an affect they have. I would think that the spontaneous, angry fight that occurs because of a dirty play or a big hit or whatever would charge up your team much more.

It used to be that fights would happen because emotions would boil over. I want that NHL back.

I listen to HockeyCentral @ Noon (in Toronto on Sportsnet 590 The FAN, on Sirius 157, and available as a podcast 2-3 hours after it airs), and I get pretty good insight from those guys about this kind of stuff. I don't always agree with them, but it gives me a better idea about what is going on in players'/coaches'/teams' minds.

We can agree to disagree on this point. I still say skilled players are in the minority, given the number of teams. So the goons are required to 'slow them down'.

It used to be that fights would happen because emotions would boil over.

Emotions boiled over because the skill level of all the players then was close to equal, and frustration became the spark that lit many fights on the ice.

I want that NHL back.

Me too, but it's not going to happen. *coughGaryBettmancough*
