A lot of games on today ... but the only one that matters is DET @ WSH. Two undefeated teams going at it. Someone is getting their streak broken tonight.

Yep. Watching it now, and hoping the Red Wings come back in the 2nd & 3rd periods so they can tie their season unbeaten streak from 1972-73.

They sure could. Plus these penalties they're taking aren't improving their chances.

Wings had tons of shots and chances, just couldn't catch a break. They were lax on defense a bit too much and they likely would have faired better with Howard in the net.

Daren Dreger on TSN had a great interview with Gretz-they talked about the state of the game, what he has been doing, family.

Really interesting

I watched it......good interview.

Leafs win. I'm happy. :)

Me too!

I forgot to DVR it before I went out, so I was only able to watch the last 10 minutes in the 3rd and the OT. Glad I caught that part! Nothing like beating the Habs in Montreal.:D

And Gustafsson doesn't even look like he'll be a good backup goalie.

I know.

He needs to build his confidence up again. He's had a rough go for the last couple of years.

I only saw replays of Reimer getting hit. It looked pretty accidental and the injury seemed to come from the fall and not the initial contact.

Whats your take?

I didn't see it live and I've only seen the replay once, and it was very quick. I have to watch it again to see what happened.

Just watched it again.....it looks like Gianta turned his head towards Reimer before he skated towards him, but turned his head away as he was skating towards him. IMO, I think Gianta was trying to give him a bump (he meant to interfere with Reimer) and tried to make it look like it was accidental, but probably didn't mean to hit him in the head or hurt him.

Oh yes......Grabs' OT goal was awesome, and so was Kessel's goal earlier in the game.

I watched it a few more times. I think it looks more like he collided with tomas plekanec, and that jolt pushed him into Reimer.

But yes I do think Gionta was trying to sell it was accidental.

Surely
Are you ready for tonight? I'll be there mixing my bud's band in the parking lot. We get to go in and watch the game from the Cadillac suite:cool: I must be IMPORTANT:rolleyes::p;) Most of all it's for a great cause."Hockey Fights Cancer"

Peace

@Mooney

admit this was a sloppy game on both sides.

Neither team looked good.

Yeah, agree. Sorry for the delay -- I watched it last night on DVR so I have to avoid all sources of info until then.

The B's did have a bunch of chances but Niemi looked good except for that 1 minute. I like the way the Sharks play tough. They took Chara out of it for most of the game as well.

I was ready, but I guess the Leafs weren't.;)

When I heard before the game that Jagr hadn't scored yet this season, I knew it for a fact that he would score tonight. The Leafs are good like that......it seems to happen often, especially when it's a guy playing his first game in the NHL or looking for his first goal in the NHL.

Now watch, he'll score at least 30 this season.

At least Gustavsson didn't play badly.

Let's go Red Wings! I hope they do good against Columbus again. Detroit got spanked hard by Washington over the weekend.

Yes, they had better! But they also better not take them for granted either. Columbus is long overdue for their first win of the season.

How many were there? I only saw the one to Pronger's eye (which was totally an accident, and no penalty was called).

Well that's what happens when you have injuries to too many important players, an 8 game suspension to your top defenseman, and an inexperienced coach (in the NHL, that is).

They won't beat the Wings tonight....

Jeez! Where is the Detroit defense in the first 2 minutes??
