If true, it's very worrying that Liverpool can't afford to stump up 6 million for Dempsey. Either that or, as you say daneoni, we bungled the deal.

Well I am surprised Everton was as active as they were in the transfer market, unloading Rodwell was the main reason being. Looks like they picked up some decent fire power up front to pair with Jelavic. Wish they could of picked up a right back as a back up for Hibbert/Neville but maybe January.

Looks like Moyes isn't done yet, looks like a late season long loan for Belgian international Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe is pending FA approval since it came in after deadline. If this pans out rumors are bound to start floating around that Bill Kenwright is dying therefore spending money on the club.

Congrats to my local team, the Wilmington Hammerheads! The underdogs made it to the USL Pro championship! They'll face the Charleston Battery next week. Go
Hammers!

As it stands, Arsenal have the best defence out of the usual top 5. i never thought i'd say those words

Of course now that i've said that/jinxed it, we're gonna lose 3-0 tomorrow at Anfield.

Since we're playing at home I'm predicting we won't lose, but I fear a dull 0-0 or maybe 1-1. We are still not scoring enough goals, and our defending has been a little dodgy lately... I'm hoping Borini finds his feet soon and give us some more power in attack.

Shamefully, USL Pro football is a bit of a blind spot for me so I've had to do a bit of research – visiting their site I see though that the Hammerheads wear identical shirts to Huddersfield Town. I voted on the 'Do you like our new jersey?' survey while I was there. :p

Columbus 2-1- Montreal

Yep. Higuain again. :D Just like last time, the Crew came from behind to win a match in injury time. Montreal have been on a long winning streak and played very well, controlling the game for long sections at Crew Stadium. Both Columbus goals today were headers coming off a Higauin cross from the left, with the winner coming in the 93rd minute.

We are now tied for 3rd in the Eastern conference, with six matches left to play before the playoffs.

Tend not to go in August (can't be bothered with transfer window subplots) but very excited about going to Anfield at lunchtime today! On what would have been Shankly's 99th birthday.

Liverpool & Arsenal. Two clubs with two strong starting XIs, but with little reinforcement on the bench.

Higuain has been a real treat for Columbus. The east is going to be a tight race. Big 3 points coming up today for Chicago who recently lost Pappa to the dutch league on a transfer. Hope this doesn't de-rail the season for Chicago.

Good win+clean sheet. Even though Liverpool had a pen shout, but Suarez does himself no favours by diving earlier on.

Looks like we didn't really need M'Villa or similar. Diaby and Arteta bossed central midfield. I hope they both stay fit. Cazorla and Podolski also seem to be finding an understanding.

Sterling and Allen the stand out players for Liverpool.

Liverpool are going to regret not buying another striker or two. They only had Downing on the bench, and he's only mildy offensive :p

Unfortunately, not. I have to work that day and I'm taking a big vacation in a couple of weeks, so I can't justify the time off. I'll be following online, though. They do a good job of broadcasting free game streams on the internet.

The USL Pro is basically the MSL's minor league. Lots of people in the cities they play in haven't heard of the league either, sadly. We really need them to succeed if this sport's going to grow here. Wilmington's averages about 5,000 fans a game, one of the most well attended clubs in the league. Hopefully the league continues to expand and grow as it has the last few years.

Cazorla and Podolski also seem to be finding an understanding.

Those two are going to be a dynamic dou this year. Fun to watch!

Heh, I ticked the 'like' box. It's a nice enough shirt, although the sponsor logo looks a bit oversized.

Unfortunately though as it's a standard teamwear shirt the back features a plain panel for the number – needless, as black numbers would be perfectly legible on the sky blue and white stripes.
