Arsenal already looking like they will just flatter to deceive again this season. *sigh*

Just back from Anfield. Must be one of the most toothless Liverpool sides to ever play in the premier league. Could have won it by 6 and in the end had to leave with our hearts in our mouths. Suarez the biggest culprit of wastefulness

We have only one forward in Suarez, and his style is not really suited to lone striker duties. Get ready for a lot of low-scoring matches, unless our midfield starts finding the back of the net a lot more often.

What did you think of Sahin's performance? Sounds like he to was also guilty of missing some chances.

Hope is here Magath has to take his hat. Just to see what other club is smart enough to hire this person.

I wonder if the manager Magath would fire the coach Magath, I'm sure he will be given the opportunity to sell half of the roster before he will get fired. The problem is though that half of the players aren't worth the amount of money what Magath/Dieter Hoeness paid for.

Yeah, that would be priceless: crowded press conference room, general manager Magath slowly dipping and drinking his tea saying: " Coach Magath is from now on freed from his duties over here at once."

Suarez surely can't be described as toothless? Heh. :D

Anyway, our German friends may be pleased to hear that we were treated to a display of Teutonic efficiency at the KC this afternoon. Nick Proschwitz came off the bench to score twice and earn us a win over Ipswich – his first goals since joining us in the summer. Wunderbar. :)

I concur on the low scoring prediction....'I thought Sahin was excellent, some of his final third flicks and passing was reminiscent of Iniesta. He tired badly in second half but he was our best passer and created most of the wasted chances that the whole team was guilty of. Sterling - despite his goal - had one of his poorest games for us

btw. USA-Germany 1:1 (1. goal USA 2min., 2. goal Germany 18min.).

First Germany appeared to be totally confused (thought, this will end 4 USA, 0 GER), from min. 15 on both teams were on par. Many Chances by Germany, while USA was defending good, mostly having to use few counter attacks in the second half and the defence work on Germany's side was mostly done by one specific Player and the goal keeper. It seems Germany is just Germany, no matter if women or men play: defence sucks at a time.
Both were fighting quiet heavy, given that this was a "friendly" match. Both showed good attitude. Was nice to watch from Minute 18 on, overlooking some shortcomings by singular players from time to time. Well, OK the many forgiven chances by GER made me nervous at a time.
Sorry for spamming and advertising :)

The teams of the Eredivise again showed that typical trait, of lack of concentration. Heracles Almelo 3 Ajax 3. Ajax was leading by two goals with ten minutes to go. Two moments of total madness and more points lost.

PSV nearly lost at home to William II. They managed to score twice very late in the second half, and saved some embarrassment.

Of course for non supporters it does make for exciting matches.:D

DC United 3-2 Columbus

Well, the gig is up. A stoppage time winner for DC destroys our feeble playoff hopes and it's so long to the 2012 season barring a couple dead rubbers.

We started off the campaign with an outstanding defense and poor offense, and ended it with pretty much the direct opposite. The acquisitions of Frederico Higauin and Jairo Arrieta transformed our attack, and I'm excited to see what they can do next season. We have some weaknesses in defense that now need to be addressed though.

Most supporters seem ready to be rid of our manager after four seasons, but there is no indication that the front office shares that opinion. It will be interesting to see if there is any public pressure from fans to make a change going forward.

Odd that we meet twice in such a short space.

Re: Sahin. I am still curious as to whether Rogers has an option on him. Rogers seems intent to give him a lot of playing time.

I'd bet my money on that if would bet (read: if I would have some). Anything else would just show how badly off Liverpool is.

Oops, sorry mate! :p

I'm watching the end if the Hearts v Motherwell match and the shirt sponsors are Wonga v Cash Converters. The quality of the football isn't great, but it's halftime of Sunderland v Newcastle.

Didn't go to Anfield, but watched it on some stream online :p
I think you'll do fine this season, maybe sixth or seventh. Though BR will need some time (unlike what we gave him!).

Not too sure about Reading, though - no creativity, poor defence, poor finishing. We look like a Championship side.

Doesn't that maybe have to do with that it's the fan tribute tour, so I would guess that all matches on this tour are somehow "improvised", not following a bigger underlying matchplan. Maybe the other part is, that the German coach asked for it (also a match against France was organized by request, on Nov. 29th).
Also both coaches had agreed to allow as many player changes as they want. I am glad Eurosport will show the second USA-GER match. Wonder, if both draw conclusions as lessons for the second match (but the US interim coach may not want to "spoil" them, when they will have a new coach later, anyway, although I'd say the US will play superb with any given coach).

The womens' professional game is much smaller than the mens', so I think it's a good idea to have more internationals because most of the players need more playing time anyway.

The cheek of the away end to sing "we sacked your manager" did tickle me, almost as much as deliberate and prolonged upstanding celebration of Suarez been awarded a free kick by a relatively hostile referee

Same here in Germany, 1. Bundesliga women's matches are spread over the season very loosely (not to say, that the quality is varying vastly, though getting more consistent at least under the first 5, but the 2. Bundesliga is like village niveau).
Along the match yesterday, I heard that the US is building up a League for next year, while most players are playing in college teams.

I hope you guys don't mind me talking about this, I know women's football is not considered football. :D but I find the development interesting.
