Lightning takes the path of least resistance. The crowd is grounded within the stadium.

Standing out on the field makes you that path of least resistance.

Kinda like the Ravens secondary is to Peyton Manning hehe.

Exactly. And your avatar makes me dizzy.

So why is the stadium still full of people?

I would imagine most stadiums now include lightning protection for spectators through lightning rods and shield wires. On the filed, such protection is not guaranteed. There is always a risk, though. Spectators have died due to lightning while sitting in a stadium.

Here is a study that looked at lightning safety in outdoor stadiums. They also offered suggestions for stadium managers.

Holy crap! What a game by the Broncos! 7TDs and 462 yards passing from Manning!

Great way to start the season!:D

Of course I would be facing a guy in my fantasy league who has Manning and the Rookie TE Moore.... I am down 83-0 and its not even Sunday yet FML

I had Manning, D. Thomas, & Prater from the Broncos and they scored 100 points for my fantasy team.:D

Just wanted to drop a quick **** you to the NFL for Ryan Seacrest. Was unwatchable despite all those lovely cheerleaders surrounding him. :D

Hey guys, I heard the Broncos won the Super Bowl last night.. and I missed it. :( Nobody told me the Super Bowl was gonna be in September this year!!

Seriously though, with the amount of ball washing of peyton manning going on today you would think that was the case.:p

Well ESPN washed all they could off of Bradys balls so they had to move on to Payton.

7 TD's in a game is an impressive record. Hasn't happened since '69

Yeah, that was a stupid play. The Broncos also caught a break on the dropped pass by Welker that was ruled a completion and wasn't challenged by the Raven.

That was the turning point of the game in my opinion. Ravens were still pretty much in it when that happened.

If it doesn't happen to Brady, the Patriots, or any other New England area team it isn't important or impressive to zioxide.

Has Tom Brady ever thrown for 7 TDs in a single game? Didn't think so.:p

Homer much? even I have to admit PM's performance was outstanding, and I am a known homer

While that was a key play, I think there were 3 others that really did in the Ravens.

1. Jacoby Jones being run into by his own teammate on a punt return. He injured his knee and never returned.

2. Dallas Clark dropping a sure TD pass at the goal line.

3. Michael Oher getting injured and not returning.

Such a homer. You only like washing Brady's balls, we know. :D

Not true. 7 TDs is pretty impressive. But its one game in September. Let's see him do it when it matters. Last time we saw him before this he was doing his best rookie QB impression trying to throw across his body and end up throwing a pick six to get knocked out of the playoffs at home last January.

When's Peyton Manning gonna have a winning playoff record? :p

I think Gisele takes care of that.

Well, I quite enjoyed that thumping the Broncos laid down on the Ravens. :D :) And that must have felt good for the Broncos and their fans given what transpired last year.

Early in the evening it looked like Manning had no arm strength, but he seemed to warm it up as the night went on with some nice deep balls to D. Thomas.

As a Demaryius Thomas/Wes Welker owner, I quite enjoyed the show. Although the Ravens coverage on Julius Thomas was absolutely abysmal. I know he'll be this year's Kevin Ogletree in fantasyland, but I'm not convinced just yet.

Either way, great start to the season. Goes without saying I can't wait until Sunday. Hopefully Amendola is up to the challenge. :)

It was the NFL season kickoff, and Manning was pretty impressive, all things considered. I don't think it's a big deal to give him his due, and it's typical for ESPN to highlight such things. If Brady threw for 7 TDs, it'd be emphasized in similar fashion. Hell, if Brandon Weeden threw 7 TDs we'd be hearing about it all week.

Seems a bit weird to be so cranky about this in week 1. Unless you're trying to be a d*ck on purpose.
