The Pats actually signed Amendola the day before Welker signed with Denver. They actually wanted to sign them both to play together but Wes was asking for (and got offered) more money from Denver than the Pats wanted to spend on that position.

I have no doubt that they knew they weren't going to offer Welker what he wanted and that's why they jumped at the chance to get Amendola. It was a typical "gray hoodie" pre-emptive strike. The question is can Amendola stay on the field all 16 games.

Saw a Ravens team pic the other day. Joe Flacco was the only one in it.

Well played sir, but don't sleep on Ray Rice or Torrey Smith. Rice is one of the best backs in the league and Smith is developing into one of the best "big play" receivers. The big hit to Baltimore is going to be on defense.

He played 14 in his first season in 2009 and all 16 in 2010. Missed 2011 with a freak injury in training camp. Only missed 5 games last year.

He'll be fine. If Welker's ACL tear happened in training camp or week 1 instead of week 17 a few years back, he would have missed that entire season just like Amendola did.

A lot of the idiots on Boston sports radio have been saying that about Amendola is injury prone but it's not backed up at all and in reality he's no more "injury prone" than Welker. Other than the freak elbow/triceps injury, Amendola has only missed 5 games since his rookie year. Wes missed at least 3 or 4 as a Patriot and that was because he was lucky his knee injury was at the end of the season and he had all offseason to recover. If it happened in Week 1 like Brady's did a few years back, everyone would be singing a different tune here. Welker's hard-nosed style of play doesn't help him much either, there were at least 3 or 4 times this past season where he took huge hits and was lucky he didn't get knocked the **** out with a concussion for a few games.

Now we get to see if Flacco was actually worth the money. Lets see him prove he can still lead a playoff team when they don't have a top-5 defense.

Loving, absolutely LOVING what the Dolphins have done so far this offseason. They got one of the most gifted WRs in the game, upgraded at TE with Keller, upgraded at LB with Ellerbe and Wheeler, and got one of the best CBs in the game in Grimes. If Grimes gets back to his game, that is definitely the best addition for Ireland. The Fins also have five picks in the first three rounds, and they are looking to trade up, maybe for Milliner or Johnson. If they dont trade up, they can still go after someone like Eifert or Austin at 12. They have transformed their offense 10 fold, and added to a very talented young defense, and they will have a shot at the division this season.

April Fool's joke or did the Raiders just acquire Matt Flynn in a trade with you guys?

No joke. The Seahawks needed to free up some money.

I think Russell Wilson proved he's for real last year and therefore they don't need to keep Flynn at the contract they had previously agreed to. It's a smart move unless Wilson gets injured, but there's no way to predict that.

Ya. I think the Seahawks have something up their sleeve.

Come on guys this is Tony's year to shine!!!! Super Bowl bound Cowboys! I can see it now.... :D:)

Rhett, I love that you are a true die hard Cowboys fan. It's weird how in general fans are praised for being loyal to their teams, but with a few specific teams (Cowboys, Patriots, etc.) people blast the loyal fans just because of how much they dislike those teams.

I grew up a Cowboys fan because my parents loved Tom Landry and there wasn't a professional team in Tennessee then. Now a days I root for the Titans first, but I'm still supportive of the Cowboys as a local.

Now that the Raiders have Matt Flynn they have traded Carson Palmer to the Arizona Cardinals. This is good news for Larry Fitzgerald.

he he he he he he he... no it won't.

unless, that is, you never have to use him...

Doesn't matter. Seattle re signed their old back-up Josh Portis.

Portis was signed in Seattle's search for a backup quarterback to starter Russell Wilson after Matt Flynn was traded to Oakland. Expect Seattle to look to add another quarterback.
