Nice manning ball washing there from the homer Denver sportswriter. That's funny. Also funny that he doesn't even have the best baseball and hockey players of all time. Paige is a hack.

If Manning is the "greatest quarterback ever", shouldn't he win that poll?

Lets see if he can win this game. Maybe that will give him a playoff record above .500. ;)

Polls are subjective. I personally would have chosen Rodgers over Brady. He can make things happen with his legs if a play breaks down and run for a gain and get out bounds in a 2 minute drill. Plus his passing downfield for big plays is much better.

The ape may be due for a loss but it looks like the 12th man will be well represented at the Super Bowl.

Seattle Seahawks fans have purchased more Super Bowl tickets than Broncos supporters.

"So far, Seahawks fans have purchased enough tickets to take over MetLife Stadium."

There's no such thing as "the 12th man" outside of Seattle. It's a fabricated concept based on their stadium being built like a tunnel. You can fill that stadium with a bunch of 7 year olds and they would be loud. Do you really think people that live in Seattle are somehow louder than other humans? Or that fans of the Seahawks are more passionate than all other fans in the nfl? Come on it's all bogus, annoying and ridiculous

I didn't write the article so don't shoot the messenger.

Actually, they kind of stole it from Texas A&M....

They're funding Johnny Football's off campus parties as we speak. :p

(In reality, I think they pay them like 5K a year)

I think I heard a crazy story once about how that originated....It was a game where Texas A&M had so many injuries that they could only field 10 players... and they got some guy out of the stands to suit up and play in the game.... From that point on fans would stand up the entire game as if to say we are ready to go in if needed, and officially became known as the 12th man.

I saw the footage earlier this week: thousands of Seahawk fans gave their team a heros' send-off, the Broncos got a wave from hundreds of their fans. I guess the weed must be better in Colorado, so far.

I'd like to see the Broncos win it but I think the Seahawks will pull it out in a very close game.

"Eli the Ape", a Utah zoo resident, has made his pick (apparently, he has been accurate for 6 years in a row).

Well that settles it. The Broncos will win on Sunday!

It looks like The Simpsons beat both prognosticators and coined Skittlebrau too in 2005.

Not Only Did 'The Simpsons' Predict A Broncos-Seahawks Super Bowl But It Also Introduced 'Skittlebrau'

The Broncos can take out a #1 defense, which has only been in in 3 out of 15 Super Bowls against a #1 defense, by getting more than their usual share of points early in the game:

ESPN Stats & Info ✔ @ESPNStatsInfo

This is 16th time that the defense that allowed fewest pts in NFL has made the Super Bowl since the merger. The previous 15 teams went 12-3 ESPN Stats & Info ✔ @ESPNStatsInfo

I don't think we (I am going to be a Broncos fan on Sunday) can hope to do any sort of fancy comebacks against a defense like that anywhere in the second half. I won't feel comfortable unless the Broncos are a good ten points ahead at halftime. If the Broncos are anything short of that type of lead at halftime, then it's going to be a grinding clock game, and in very cold weather, which will favor the Seahawks. They won't have the noise of a Seattle stadium but the cold will act like a good enough substitute. Peyton has to get moving from the first possession and score.

Seattle has come back from 10 point deficits a few times this year. They seem to feed off it.
If I were Denver I would shoot for at least a 17 point lead at halftime.

That would be classic if the Broncos had a 5pt lead late in the 4th and the Hawks stole it from them and refused to give it back. You know, the way the Giants kept making Brady look like a dork.

Oh, almost forgot this t*****r classic: Picard v. Gandalf (wrong kind of football, though).

We all saw the collapse of Denver against NE at NE when Brady came back. What people don't talk about is that Wilson has the goods, though not of late. But in his first two years he posted 100+ ratings each year, something Rodgers, Young, Romo, Brady, or Manning never did though those QBs did have a good first two years considering their circumstances.

With the most prolific start of any young QB (for Wilson) in the history of the sport based off of raw numbers resulting in QB rating I wouldn't feel safe at any time if I were Denver.

That being said, Manning has the most 4th quarter comebacks at 40 and the next closest among active quarterbacks is Brady at 31.

Whatever the case, I want Manning to get out ahead early in this cold weather. People will slow down and make mistakes as the day drags on and the cold gets to the players. This won't be any different than the typical Bears or Packers game where it's attrition against the weather. I don't know what idiot came up with an outdoor game in such a cold place. Nobody is going to score big tomorrow and it will be who holds up best in the cold. I remember when my Raiders had a great year and then choked in the cold at NE. San Diego also had a similar fate. You can have all the tools and weapons but if you are not used to terrible weather, you won't perform the same. At least it's 44 now and snowing on Monday with maybe a break tomorrow and as high as 50. But I wouldn't bet on it and especially if it snows a few hours early. What's wrong with indoors?
