People will slow down and make mistakes as the day drags on and the cold gets to the players.

Players get tired from playing. But if you have ever had some good exercise on a cold day, you would realize that the cold actually works to your advantage. In reality, hot days are much worse for staying alert and hydrated than are cold days. This whole weather issue is blown way out of proportion. Because, of course,

the coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco

Let's hope it's cold enough to keep players and audience cool, but not so much that it can a be typical East Rutherford day in early February.

To me, cold is below 50 degrees F, and when I went skiing in weather around that temperature, I froze my butt off and people laughed at me. There were idiots in long sleeved shirts out there and I couldn't even move being frozen even with all the layers on. It was truly miserable for me but seeing snow only once 40 years ago doesn't harden me for cold.:D

I hope all goes well and Sunday is a warmer than usual day for the week as forecasted.

Well Wunderground is saying a high of 48 and a low of 31 is forecast for game day .

Perfect weather actually. Both teams should be used to this type of weather.

Especially Seattle. They have this kind of weather earlier than most teams.

East Rutherford, a town of 9K, is having a party on Sunday, for the people who cannot get tickets. Park Avenue will be closed to traffic, lots of snacks and music, good time for all. There will be the stadium, right nearby, the one that hosts those two teams that call themselves the New York Dudes, not so much as a by-your-leave to the town.

But it is much better than that. East Rutherford has been warned not to use "Super Bowl" or any logos or official IP, because the NFL (a 501(c)6 non-profit organization) has lots of expensive lawyers.

So if you happen to be in town, and have no tickets to get into SomeInsuranceCompany Stadium, head on over to East Rutherford's "Gameday Tailgate Party".

48 sounds normal but 31 would suck but if it's especially typical for Seattle then that's a plus for them. Wouldn't the fingers of QB and receivers be hindered some? I guess all those warm weather venues and indoor super bowls had spoiled players so this first cold weather bowl may be a lot of fun to watch. I expect stupidly bad throws and easily missed passes. It should help both defenses tomorrow and be a lot of fun.

I expect lower yards from both teams and possibly less than 20 points for loser and maybe only 21 for winner. I have always expected Manning to be great when everything goes his way, but getting hit too hard once or being cold, or getting frustrated has a way of making him absolutely choke and lose his rhythm. He's very flappable from what I have seen so let's hope it's closer to 48 than 31.

Everybody I talked to today believed it's going to Seattle but most, naturally being SF fans, want Denver to win big. I can't repeat what people are saying about Sherman. While Wilson could suck on some games I expect him to pull out all his best moves tomorrow and play like most know he's capable of. But I also expect Denver's D to step up above and beyond what most can expect.

In the end, it will be Seattle and I agree with this from Bleacher Report:

Matt Miller: National Lead NFL Draft Writer (Twitter)

—Seahawks 21-20

A top-ranked offense meets a top-ranked defense, and historically the defense comes out on top. It may be a cliche, but it's true that offense sells tickets and defense wins championships. The Seahawks secondary will do their job, and in the end, the better defense comes out with a ring.

I see ESPN is already in damage control mode... according to them Peyton's legacy is "secure" even if the Broncos lose tonight. Yep, secure as the 2nd best quarterback of the current generation regardless of the results. :D:p

Seahawks are gonna win tonight. Defense wins championships. Richard Sherman with the game clinching interception Tracy Porter style as Princess Peyton Manning chokes away another one.. :D;):p

Arn't Paytons career numbers better than Brady's.

This game game reminds me of Super Bowl XX, when the Bears destroyed the Patriots.

This game reminds me of Super Bowl XXXVI when the Patriots defense manhandled the Rams offense for most of the game. I still remember Holt, Bruce and Hakim getting roughed up all game and couldn't get any thing going and this is exactly happening to the Denver WR's.

I'm hoping this will remind me of the first Super Bowl win by my Hawks.

:p

Who said Harvin wouldn't be a factor. 87 TD return

29-0

Worst superbowl I've ever seen. Commercials are atrocious as well

When did Super Bowl commercials go from being funny to depressing?
