On my way in to work this morning (around 8am) I saw a police escorted caravan of 3 luxury coach buses with a Denver Broncos Placard in the front, heading down the nj turnpike... I guess John Fox has them practicing nice and early.

I also took some snaps of Superbowl Boulevard set up while walking to my office.

I can only imagine, if it isn't too cold the amount of people who don't have tickets and want to be out in the fun, will be at SBB...

... a fast sixty minute game.

Do you realize how long a football game is? Snap-to-whistle action takes up about 12 minutes. The SB could be as much as four hours long, meaning 5% of the time, we will be watching the actual game. "Fast"? Maybe not.

he he he. yeah. that is why it is important to have a good team in the booth.

which they probably won't. i have no idea who is broadcasting the SB but...

i hate listening to: joe buck jr and troy aikmen, phil simms & chris collinsworth

no ides what network any of those guys work for other than buck and aikmen(fox..?)

lead play by play announcer for FOX is Joe Buck so you are definitely going to get him. Not sure which color man they pair him with though.

I remember a Jets/Dolphins game broadcast nationally with no announcers maybe 20 years ago. They stepped up their graphics for the game (this was obviously pre-FOX-make-me-throw-up graphics era). It was heaven.

It will be sad to see it go and when the SB is over I can't believe another football season has come and gone. I would love to hang out around football all day on SB sunday but to me it just goes by too fast.:(

Yes, if one side dominates then the game drags but it goes very fast when its a one possession game for four quarters. Most think it will be the Broncos by 3 but I see it the other way around. Anyway, I can't wait to see how this one turns out. One commentator put it well and said if Lynch gets the ball enough, eats up enough time and has a lot of small carries totaling over 100 yards, it won't give Manning enough time on his hands to do enough damage. So offensively the keys to both teams could be if the Seahawks have a good day on the ground or if Manning has enough opportunities to score a lot and it's not likely both will happen. With a defense as good as the Seahawks it will be important that Manning have as many chances as possible.

It doesn't look like anybody is going to run away with this game. All those Broncos fans who think Manning is the greatest QB ever (maybe non fans will point out maybe only youngest to hit each major milestone as QB) then he will have to win this game. No matter what happens I still think Brady is better but I will reluctantly put Manning up there as best of his generation along with Brady if he caps Sunday off with a win, and against a monster defense like Seattle. A win on Sunday is basically the only thing on the bucket list Manning has to achieve in his career. Anything on career yards or TDs short of Favre will be equaled out by having one more championship than Favre and thus Manning could quit after a win and leave as the best and most productive QB ever. Any further yards or championships beyond Sunday would just be more icing on the cake. As much as he's a great offensive star, or after this season THE great offensive star, the star on Sunday will be somebody(s) on the Seahawks defense. If this is the case, I hope it's not Sherman lest we get some of the most obnoxious commercials through 2014 and beyond!

Lets check that bucket list, shall we?

Super Bowl winner? - Check

NFL MVP? - Check, Check, Check, Check

Most Passing Yards in a single season - Check

Most Passing TDs in a single season - Check

Led offense that scored the most points in a season - Check

I'd say Manning's legacy as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game is secure regardless of the outcome of Super Bowl XLVIII.

I remember that game, it was so odd not to hear anything - I'd say a nice change of pace.

Manning's legacy of one of the best was secure years ago.

I think a second win would bury any naysayers as if he's the best. There's that nagging thing that Eli, Ben, and Tom are multiple super bowl winners though none of them have all those items that are on above checklist. For anyone who is aware of what Seattle can do (I saw what they did to Niners), it's no easy task for Manning to get this win. Yes, he has all those TDs and yards against some lesser teams, but let's see what he can do against the best in the NFL who seem to be at their peak.

I keep hearing this argument, but I never hear the reverse.

The Broncos have 5 players that have scored 10 or more touchdowns this season: D Thomas, J Thomas, Welker, Decker, & Moreno. Yes, the Seahawks have stopped some of the lesser teams, but lets see what they can do against the best offense in the history of the NFL who seem to be at their prime.

Yeah, the Broncos have the best offense – against a pretty crap array of opponents. They played the garbage division of the NFC, very nearly losing to the lamentable cowboys; they played the mediocre AFC-S, losing to the Colts, the only good team in that bunch. After that, some somewhat difficult games against the Chargers, Chiefs and Patriots. Not a whole lot to brag about.

They beat the Saints twice.

In fact, they needed OT to beat the Texans.

At the time, Houston was still a football team, with a semi-respectable 2-1 record. The Seahawks broke them, then SF and StL immediately stomped on the pieces. By the time the Broncos got to them, the Texans were just some wispy ghosts floating around the field.

Curiously, Seattle won that game on the the strength of a late pick-6 by ... some guy.

the nerve of schaub that sorry a$% mediocre at best quarterback to throw at the best cornerback in the history of everdom... thats what he gets

that game gets a mention every so often when we talk about bad commentators.

I do hope that Manning and company get this done!

Why do you not hear the reverse, from either hacks like me or professional football analysts? I think because plenty of great offenses in the Super Bowl were taken out by good defenses or even merely OK defenses. Just OK offenses rarely fare well against a good defense or any defense. If your offense is to beat a top offense, it has to be so good it's better than virtually any offense that has ever existed. That being said, it could be you guys but we will see very soon. Defense usually wins football games and that will be a staple of this sport just like "people get hurt and get oww-ies" in football and sometimes miss games. It's unavoidable. There's little to suggest that anything will change much from what has always been.

Manning has an uphill battle but if he wins with Denver then:

1) Broncos and Manning's 2013-14 offense could be seen as best ever having taken out the NFL's #1 defense in Seattle.

2) This would make Manning a multiple SB winner and the only QB to be on different winning teams.

3) A strong argument could be said Manning is the best ever, or at least the best of his generation, since en route to having the best offensive season ever, he won the key AFC championship head to head with Brady and the Patriots (the other best offense in football headed by the other best QB of his generation).

What I would like to see is either a rout of Seattle since I don't like Sherman's attitude, or a last second pass over Sherman's head to make this a one point winner. The former outcome in a severe rout, and against a defensive powerhouse like Seattle, would pretty much leave no doubt as to who the best offense and best QB of all time is. A loss against Seattle will keep alive the contest between Brady and Manning as they would have both suffered multiple SB losses and have both guys scrambling for that elusive last SB win to ride off into the sunset with.

The more I think about it, Elway's ending in his last two years to an already stellar NFL career before his SB wins was about as good an exit from any sport that I can think of. Manning could almost match that Elway final win feeling if he wins on Sunday and then announces his retirement. He would put up the SB wins, overall wins, TDs, yards, and other stuff in order to be called the best, but he would also leave on top with a "what if" scenario as to if he could have gone on longer and took one or two more titles.

When Elway left football as a winner and not completely in decline like Montana, Favre, or Marino, part of me thought because he left with those two SB wins, that he could have even gone on for one more championship. It's best to win, preferably two or more titles, and then retire while you are on top and your numbers are still good.

Anyway, I agree with this greatest ever article:

Nice manning ball washing there from the homer Denver sportswriter. That's funny. Also funny that he doesn't even have the best baseball and hockey players of all time. Paige is a hack.

If Manning is the "greatest quarterback ever", shouldn't he win that poll?

Lets see if he can win this game. Maybe that will give him a playoff record above .500. ;)

It is definitely a homer piece for the Denver fans but it's a pretty compelling story and brings some pretty good arguments with it, especially after this season. Whether he's the best ever or second, or third, the one thing he doesn't have on the list is that title of a multiple super bowl winner. To shut up us SF fans about being the best, Manning would have to get a ring on Sunday, and then two more.:D But truth be told Manning and Broncos beat Pats and Joe Montana is probably off playing golf somewhere so a lot of attention right now is focused on Manning and it could be his time to shine or for some to call for his retirement. A lot is riding on this game for his legacy.

I hope he pulls it off on Sunday.
