Can't agree. :)

Everton had how many chances to score? About zero from open play. Liverpool defended actually well if it weren't for that desperate shot by Jagielka. Balo had some excellent chances (played very well in general imo) so not a fair draw for me. Very entertaing game though.

Captain Wayne is sent off, but Man Utd are ahead 2-1. Lets see what self-proclaimed tactical genius Big Sam can cook up here against self-proclaimed tactical genius LvG.

EDIT: Is this actually good for Man Utd in the short term, since it obviates the issue of how to fit Rooney, RvP and Falcao on the same pitch?

Good, I could use some optimism. ;)

Liverpool may have been a bit unlucky, but you make your own luck. With a healthy Sturridge on the pitch that would have been a win for sure.

Again a fantastic goal by Graziano Pellè, Southampton really got a great deal for only €10 million.

Dumb decision by Rooney. I guess it showed that United can still play some decent defense though especially with 1 player gone. This doesn't help them for the Chelsea match though.

Two derbies two draws. One team superior but gets sucker punched

And Juan Mata, who has been the odd man out lately.

Guess he'll get three more matches to make his case. I think he's much better at that #10 role than Rooney, it's just that he's not quite as versatile.

Glad to see LvG giving more youth a chance in central defense. That's something Sir Alex unfortunately got away from at the end of his tenure (*COUGH* *PAUL* *POGBA*).

So UEFA says "f you lawmakers".

The UEFA said, that they will continue to use the free-kick spray in the EU, because they want to tell the producer to put the needed labels on the cans, if he can't do it, they will change the manufacturer. Also they say, although the spray doesn't comply with european rules, the spray can be used in the CL match vs Schalke, because they know it is not dangerous.
The German TÜV had tested the spray and declared it wasn't fulfilling EU-norms and the contents have toxicity higher than is allowed in the EU.

The city of Gelsenkirchen (Schalke) meanwhile said, if the referee wil use the spray they will file a case against him and he will have to pay between 5-55,-EUR. (His salary per match is noted as 4500,-EUR).

So that actually means UEFA encourages referees to commit infraction and then lets the referees pay.

City really are hapless in Europe. Yaya Toure has regressed notably this season. Perhaps Fernando should play more instead.

Milner should also be a guaranteed starter. Head and shoulders above the rest of midfield. Hart not quite 'world class'

Barca have lost their x-factor. Too much tippy tappy and less ruthless finishing.

Cavani still overrated in my opinion. Haven't seen what the noise is about since his Napoli days.

Liverpool are suffering from what afflicted Spurs last season - lots of incoming players disrupted unit cohesion. I'm willing to be patient, though I fear if Man Utd's massive splurge does bring them back into the Champions League, Liverpool may be locked out indefinitely. Liverpool are a big, rich club but they don't have the money Chelski and the Mancunians have, and the never will under FSG.

Good win for Arsenal. Sanchez and Wellbeck are getting it done.

They miss Sturridge (and Suarez) a lot. Balotelli is pretty much a lamp-post. Also someone needs to be designated the leader in central defence to organise them.

From Steven Gerrard back to Mignolet the squad is just dodgy at the moment. A defender with Skrtel's experience should be more solid than this. Stevie G is struggling - possibly his head will never be right again after that slip against Chelsea last season, and he's only going to get slower...rival clubs' fans will laugh but it's quite sad as far as I'm concerned (we'll, as sad as I can be about a man I've never met who makes millions of pounds a year ).

I'm willing to give Balotelli more time. Yes, everyone hoped he would score more, but he still has plenty of time to justify his presence. Maybe he and Sturridge will, despite past evidence, prove to be an efficient pairing. There is a lot of focus on Balotelli but Lambert isn't exactly banging them in either and he's playing in front of a leaky defense.

I miss Sturridge more than Suarez in the sense that Sturridge would probably have made the difference for us in the last few matches - he is still a Liverpool player, unlike Luis.

At least Columbus have been winning lately. :)

Feel the same about Gerrard and Balotelli. The first one is just a very sad case, hope he can still lift something in the near future so that such a career isn't just 'fading' out. Balo, not sure what people expected? Instant success is a rare thing, saw him vs Everton and he was easily the best player on the pitch - haven't seen him against Basel but seems like some underestimate Basel, which are frequently outplaying much bigger teams in the CL.

Had a seminar about fire protection and had to see that video about the fire in a stadium in Yorkshire (?), think in the 80's. Absolutely shocking

Dirk Kuijt is stopping his international career after 104 games.

Feyenoord won in the Europa League but it hardly looked convincing. But a win is a win.

Dinamo Moskou beat PSV in the last minutes of the game, PSV are a shadow of themselves.

Graziano Pellè has been called to International duty by Italy for 10 October. His good start by Southampton, and his scoring record by Feyenoord last season, finally registered with selectors.

A win is a win. Probably should have been 2-0, the penalty was harsh. A mixed bag, everyone did some good things and some bad things. The defense doesn't look any better but they got away with it today.

Lambert and Balotelli obviously need to start scoring goals.

Hazard given the ball cuts through the defence and puts his team ahead. Ozil given the ball gifts it to the opposition to start a counter.

The guy just hasn't delivered overall.

Omg arsenal. Wtf happened today. They looked like a bunch of U21 players out there...

Chelsea just had to stand around and wait for the ball to be given to them by an arsenal player mainly ozil.
I think he has some personal issues going on this season. Something at home maybe.

To be fair ref was slightly lenient towards the home side.

Cahill should arguably have been off
Fabregas handball in the box not given
Oscar allowed to foul continuously until the 88th minute. Ditto Ivanovic

But Arsenal only really have themselves to blame yet again.

This was slightly funny...but predictably Mou had the last laugh.

Same old same old

If Arsne doesn't get a top 3 finish this season I think they will oust him. Just think his time is done and after getting some good prospects he hasn't been able to do much with them.
Love that man tantrum today when Alexis was fouled and Arsne took it into his own hands outside the technical area lol
