Not just Gerrard's petulant stamp, but Skrtel got away with one on De Gea at the final whistle. He needs a retroactive ban for that. Liverpool really lost the plot emotionally today.

Guess I picked the right time to complain about LvG, right before the penny finally dropped. Hope it continues. Just keep playing Fellaini and Mata together.

That second goal by Mata, simply breathtaking.

I don't know what Gerrard was thinking!

Mata's second goal was outstanding!

Bayern lost 0:2 against Mönchengladbach!!!

Mainz got 1:1 against Wolfsburg who had defeated Bayern with 4:1 at the beginging of the second half of the season.

(During the week I was watching Wolfsburg at Europa Cup and was remembering that Mainz actually had a starter place there too and went out of the cup at the very beginning and just thought that Tuchel probably would have managed to just get one round further and I wondered, if that would ever be possible with the current new coach (after the interims coach, who got fired) and I had to be honest to myself, that the next few seasons the only aim probably will be to stay in the league over and over again.)

Offtopic:
I saw the 1/4 final CL women Wolfsburg vs FC Rosengarten today and it was a really cool match it eventually got really nasty, too, but was at a technically high level. Wolfsburg went 1:1 at home, after that match, it should be a real interesting match, when Wolfsburg has to travel to Malmö, (FC Rosengarten). There were 1600 visitors and they expect 5000-6000 visitors in Sweden, because of the aggressive match today. Some angry emotions were put into the game during the corse of the match.
Notes: Germany now "leading" the list of injuries for the comming world cup 2015 with 8 injured players, though two will come back right before the cup.

real madrid dominated the 1st half but then barcelona woke up on the 2nd half, there were alot of close calls for goals from real madrid but we fell short :(

Rooney should be done too

I'd agree if it had been studs up. Also, Jones was borderline and Balotelli should have seen red - second yellow - for the Smalling incident. Wonder how the media would have reacted if the first stamp had been Mario instead of Gerrard?

Centaurr - Falcao video - so that is what you look like. :)

Cheers,
OW

Lord Bendtner 3 - USA 2

Yes, yes, keep the bad news coming. I'm sure Columbus will get spanked this weekend too, and the Premier League will declare Man Utd Eternal Champions Forever and Ever.

I'm glad real life has gotten busy for me lately, I don't have time to get really salty about my soccer world crumbling around me. But I'll allow myself this little whine. :roll eyes: ;)

EDIT: Minnesota United FC have been announced as MLS's 24th club (or 23rd if Beckham's project in Miami ends up going bust). The club have put together a deal for a new, natural grass stadium and are slated to debut for the 2018 season. A friend of mine is from Minnesota and was dangerously close to becoming a Toronto supporter, so this is welcome news to me.

England had a nice win over Lithuania, 4-0. It was good to see Harry Kane get his first English goal, he is having a good year.

Lithuania are a pretty weak team. England looked good - but when was the last time they looked that good against a real contender, or even a middling team?

International duty update:: Teofilo Gutierrez missed the last friendly game due to a stomach virus but is now back on Team Colombia and will play against Kuwait on monday, the only one that will be missing is James but he will be back in real madrid on April 5th

Netherlands 1 Turkey 1

Tonight it is again clear that the team is still a work in progress. For long periods the team could not make a serious dent in the Turkish defense.
But for me the most worrying aspect was there was no real vision, and no real leadership on the pitch.

This is not going to be a quick fix, I forsee a period in the wilderness.

International duty update:: Colombia 3 Kuwait 1
falcao scored a penalty and breaks colombia's record for all-time top scorer, 24 goals with the national team :)
