I genuinely hope Leicester can make a good fist of it in the Chanpions league, but from what I saw today I don't expect Man City or Spurs to do anything of note in Europe next season...though the Pep factor may of course change all of that.

As for Arsenal - the more things change, the more they stay the same. In a season where the unexpected became the new normal for the rest of the league, they did the exact same thing they do every year.

Arsenal every season; start well/ok, key players injured, stutter without them, players return (often too late), regain momentum.
How badly have they missed Wilshere/Cazorla.

Meanwhile Mkhitaryan, Xhaka and Kante rumoured to be interested in moves to Arsenal. So expect neither of those transfers to happen.

As for Spurs i fear the way their season has ended will affect them mentally next season.

City, Chelsea, United, Liverpool all have serious work to do.

Not to mention that Arsenal are probably facing a big transition in a year; I would not be surprised if they drop down the table when that happens, unless they hire a top manger and spend (though even that method has ceased to be reliable).

I just hope next season doesn't just revert to the boring Chelsea/Arsenal/Manchester hegemony.

EDIT: It is worth pointing out that Leicester have won the league by ten points. TEN. I still can't believe it.

Bit of a disappointing finish for West Ham. Flirted with Champions leauge, then Europa league ended with 7th.
Oh well it's been a good year. Lots of talk about bringing in a world class striker for our new stadium, but I'd rather shore up our defence.

The latest news from Old Trafford indicates that that the 'explosive device' was a fake, but 'incredibly lifelike.'

Now to find out who is responsible. Some news reports seemed to imply (or speculate) a connection with Norther Ireland, but as yet there are no (publicly-available) clues.

EDIT: Kudos to Southampton, who earned themselves a Europa League spot by winning their last four in a row - one of the very few teams who didn't splutter at the end.

Sounds exactly like Hertha. :(

Still great though! (At least for Berlin, no idea about West Ham, guess that wasn't expected either.)

Yes, Leicester's margin of victory is such that nobody can argue that they stuttered over the line; this was a comprehensive victory and a greta story.

And I agree with you when you write that you hope next season does not revert to the more usual boring pattern.

Nice to see teams such as Leicester, - indeed Spurs, and Southampton, and - earlier - West Ham - challenge for top flight places. Nice, too, to see the more usual order upended and subject to interrogation.

It was a training device that was left behind by a private security company. I don't think they will be allowed to train at Old Traff again.

So, barring miracles, it'll be The Wednesday vs Hull Tigers Inc in The Richest Game in Global Soccerball™.

I'm assuming that Hull with their parachute payments wouldn't be at a huge disadvantage in the Premier League; do any of our Owls know how deep Chansiri's pockets are?

He's certainly got a lot of money, but how much of that he wants to 'invest' is anyone's guess

I was on point!

Roll on Monday!!

Christ what a disaster of a finish. :D Just as we start to get rid of the term "Spursy" we do the ULTIMATE Spursy.

Still, I won't let it overshadow the great achievement of this season and we are back in the Champions league which is something I wasn't confident of at the beginning of the season.

On to the Euros!

Well, I suppose other than bragging rights Spurs haven't really lost out. Will be interesting to see them in the CL and whether they can kick on from this season

Although, with the inevitable spending sprees City and Chelsea will embark on, this season may have been their best chance

Well, on the one hand you have my commiserations, but, on the other, the remark I saw yesterday in the Observer wondering how 'Spurs managed to finish third in a two horse race' seems, somehow, apposite.

your club will get whats due sonny, you are going to get it!

The radio commentary suggests that the Seagulls aren't going quietly...

...and that was before they scored.

...and now a fluke equaliser.

So another EPL season thus ends...ish. (United always have to ruin everything)

Many congrats to Leicester. I'm annoyed but mostly pleased...even somewhat proud.

Wanted Rafa to stay up but pleased Ashley got relegated.

Not gonna celebrate 2nd place finish because, really, we got lucky. Its been a failed season. That said, Happy St. Totteringham's day. Also, thanks Hazard.

Seems Kroenke is ready to offer Wenger another contract (of course he is) but Le Prof is stalling. Wonder who will be his successor. All the big managers are starting new chapters. Wenger will either have to extend or we get some unknown/unproven.

Transfer market will be especially harder this summer because the big guns are all rebuilding. Liking the rumours of Xhaka, Kante and Mkhitaryan. But not holding my breath.
Cazorla is ageing and thus brittle, Wilshere is always injured, Ramsey left his ghost back in 2013. Arteta, Rosicky, Flamini all gone so we need bodies. Hopefully we also get another Forward since Welbz is out, and a Defender (Mertesacker i'm looking at you).

Next season should be interesting. Will the big guns remember who they are or has there been a temporary shift for the next few seasons. Will the new managers adapt quickly or stutter. And which squads will be dismantled (Chelsea, City, Leicester?) and which ones will be strengthened. Cant wait for Aug.

In the meantime, bring on the CL/EL/Euros. Liverpool/Athleti/France for me.

I hope Leicester's squad doesn't get pilfered - they should have enough money now to offer their title-winning squad good contracts (not to mention Champion's League football). They should also be able to buy some quality players as well.

I wouldn't mind seeing a shakeup in the Premier League pecking order. Not much has changed in the last 25 years, so maybe it's time for some new faces.

Indeed, credit to them, they came out fighting and battered us the first 20 minutes and thoroughly deserved their lead.

Wasn't so much a fluke goal, as a goalkeeping blunder. Stockdale presumed one of the 6 guys in front of him was going to stick their head on the ball, only they didn't...

I'm also surprised both teams finished with 11 men. It was a game of 2 halves, that's for sure, I'm just glad the first 'half' had us 2 goals in front

A playoff final at Wembley?

Yep, we are!

Hull will stop You!

I have foreseen it!

Decent 3-1 win by Man Utd to wrap up what has been a disappointing season. Hopefully a FA Cup win would provide some respite but I can't see it saving LVG's job.
